Cleaning up those little surprises, help?
imported_Debbie replied to boosiebutt's topic in Everything about dogs
I have the Bissel with heat like Scotty lvr was talking about and it works really good. I normally buy the Bissel solution for Pets. -
:o I have to say he'll definitely turn heads where-ever he goes...... I wouldn't pick a dog like that on purpose, but I'd definitely take him in if he had no where else to go.......and I'd certainly be able to get past his looks and love him..... :buzi: Remember ~ Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and it's only skin deep.

Psychiatric treatment for woman who breastfed puppy
imported_Debbie replied to Seijun's topic in Everything about dogs
:o Okey Dokey .......here we go, I'll add my 2 cents. I've had 4 kids, tried breast feeding with the last two, didn't take. All 4 were bottle fed and healthy. I agree with the comment that was made about the La Leche League being a bit like PETA, they are, over the top, very pushy people. :-? Now personally I would not breast feed an animal, but I would express milk into a bottle for it, and I wouldn't call the news and announce it. This woman obviously has a need for attention.......she didn't just simply breast feed the pup and keep it to herself, she called the media......really what did she expect ??? :-? AND, how would her breastfeeding the pup make it protect the baby ??? It would moreso be inclined to protect her(the woman) because it's creating a bond with the pup through the breastfeeding........ I have a feeling that this woman isn't the sharpest tool in the shed and maybe a little observation isn't a bad thing........  -
What kind of housing is best for a dog?
imported_Debbie replied to Crested's topic in Everything about dogs
Well I own a house with a yard, but I have no fence.......so I'm out there 5X/day at least doing walks all over the property........they aren't happy just to go out and poo/pee they're nosy and have to investigate the whole area !!! -
What kind of housing is best for a dog?
imported_Debbie replied to Crested's topic in Everything about dogs
I think it depends on the dog and how much exercise the person is willing to give the dog. :D -
Can someone tell me what station this is one? Debbie, if you're on, tell me what channel. This way I can record it and watch it while I'm on vacation next week.
VACATION ???? And where do you think you're going ??????? I hope someplace warm............ 8) I came back late, I'll try and tune into the Nat Geo channel and see what's going on......... :D

My German Shephard mix has done something
imported_Debbie replied to a topic in German Shepherd Dogs
There are some breeds that are very "mouthy". My Lab/Rott Gretchen is very mouthy and likes to use her mouth in play with me.......grabbing my hand or forearm. She never hurts me or clamps down hard though......although, if I were a small child it might hurt being as they are more sensitive. To me it doesn't sound like the pup is trying to hurt your child but I would still discourage this behaviour with the pup and redirect her with a chew toy. -
hollie, when I had mine sleep with me as tiny pups, I would put their leashes on them and have the end on my wrist........when I felt the pup stirring and moving about on the bed...that would be my cue to get up and take them outside !! It worked for me.......not saying it's for everyone, but it definitely worked for me !!

:o

I've heard of this show, but have never seen it yet. Does it come on with any regularity ? I'd really like to see it. :)

When my 3 were tiny pups, I'd crate them while house-breaking if I couldn't keep my eyes on them. As they got a little more reliable I'd gate them in the kitchen area if I had to leave the house. Luckily for me I'm a stay at home Mom and Daycare provider (in-home). Now, they have the run of the house when we leave and they're fine. Mine have never slept in a crate.....they've always slept with me at night and still do.

I couldn't see anything on the link....... Even so, I can't believe people don't have better things to do with their time........Whack Jobs !!! :-?

:D Definitely give me a Pm if you need assistance on getting help for Nelly. Like I said IF he's a JRT or JRTX I can certainly find someone down your way to help !!
-
I have to agree with Desert Lady.......if you're going to show the dog kindness and take him with you to dog parks but then let him run after the car ??? I didn't get that part, I guess.......... :o It's like feeding a stray cat.....once you feed them they keep coming back, of course !! This little guy "nelly" keeps coming back to you because he's getting the kindness and attention he obviously isn't getting whereever he's come from. And I'll tell ya, if he's a JRT X , these JRT's have fabulous memory !!! They don't forget !!! I know for certain there are JRT rescue groups in Fla., not sure where but if you PM me I'm sure I could hook you up with the appropriate person in Fla. I'm on a JRT Forum, and I'm sure someone would respond to this. Your heart IS in the right place, but now you have to follow through !!

:o WHAT ???!!! They can't make her remove the dog just on the word of a neighbor and the opinion of a Police Officer !!!! They need an expert opinion and that would be one of a Vet or Bulldog breeder. They can't just strong arm her like that !!! I'd see about my rights, if she can't afford a lawyer have her get her information gathered and go to the Press !!! Cause a big Stink !!!!! There's got to be someway around this....... :-?
-
:o Oh MY !!!!! He's so thin the poor thing.......... :( It's obvious he's either not getting enough food or he has health problems causing the thiness....... :( I would call Animal Control and have them check out his circumstances.....I'll bet he'd get adopted VERY quickly !!!! Keep us posted on his condition !!
-
 Congrats on your new pup !!!! How exciting !!! I can almost smell the wonderful puppy breath from here.......... Boy, have you come to the right place !! There are so many knowledgeable people on here that will give you great advice !! My name is Debbie, from N.Y and I have 2 Jacks and a Lab/Rott I feed my Jacks "Nutro Natural Choice" and you can get that from a Pet Store. Not so lucky with my Lab/Rott she requires Prescription food from the Vet (VERY pricey). Good luck with your new baby and enjoy her !! What's her name by the way ???
