1. I have a zebra..does that count? DL- I have NO idea why but that pic cracks me up!
2. Ok i'm sufficently freak out by zebra! I was in the middle of typing up a new thread on here about how zebra dosn't want to play anymore and how he seems sad and how he is never happy. Then all of a sudden I feel a nudge on my elbow and I turn around and zebra jumps up and puts his front paws on my legs. First off he was in a deep sleep when I was typing it up and second, He NEVER EVER EVER jumps up like that because it hurts his hips. Plus he knows better to jump on people. So he is face to face with me with his paws on my thighs and he is wagging like mad then he jumps down and does a play bow. Mind you I was half way threw typing up about how he dosn't want to play anymore. :o So then he goes and gets a toy and brings it to me!!!! So I played a little game of fetch with hiim in the house a few mins ago. He is all happy and playful right now, this is just weird. How did he know I was thinking/typing about him?! :o Not to mention the fact that he keeps staring at the back door with this werid look on his face and will bark at the door. And no one is home except for me , so I'm scared now. :-?
3. We got zebra these new pills for his hips and everytime he gets one he will roll around on it like it's something dead. He rubs his face and body all over this little pill then eats it.
4. I found some pics on Petfinder that looks similar to the dog in the Disney commercial. and If there was more white on the dog and the ears had a "lab" shape to them.
5. Great post LC! But I think this thread needs..........Puppy pictures!
6. Oh now that was just mean! Shame on you HF, Shame!
7. I'm glad your dog bit him. Some people just get what they deserve. :evilbat:
8.
Starfox, I LOVE that sig....did he drink it, or just think about it?
Thanks Court! Zeb is so clumsy that sometimes I do think he drank it all.
9. WOOHOO Laurel! And a huge WOOHOO to you court for all the time and energy you have given to her! :D
10. I use both, but he dosn't pay attention to either.
11. Happy Birthday!! Hope you find her the perfect toy.
12. WELCOME BACK! Thoes pics are wonderful! Glad to see you back here!
13.
Alright now I can't stand I have to find out what kind of dog it is. I found a messageboard and they think it's some sort of terrier but what kind.
But staffys are Terriers.
14. It was a black and white dog, ears that layed like a staffys. Your right it wasn't a huge dog but then again I think most dogs would looks small standing next to a 6 ft. tall mouse. But arn't true staffys small, in the 35-40 pound range?
15. I was watching TV tonight and saw a new Disneyland commercial where a dog is running threw Disneyland and having all this fun with Mickey. It' realy cute and they put Mickey ears on the dog. The commercial ends that the dog is only dreaming about being in Disnyland. ANYWAYS the whole point of this was to ask if anyone has seen it? Because I swear the dog in the commercial is a Staffy but I'm not 100% sure.
16.
I still can't agree with the options you guys have about PETA... there are alot of good things that the organization has done for animals...I was just at one of their demonstrations last week and it was quite successful... Not to mention they do a great job at educating the public on various issues..because of them, I found out about puppy mills, IAMS, circuses, etc..before that you can say I had no clue.
While I kinda agree with you I think that PETA is WAY too extream. I'd say that there are decent PETA people who genuinly try to educate without harassing people. Then there are the crazy PETA people who hand out thoes horrible flyers to school kids, and who let lobsters "free" with the rubber bands still on there claws  . If PETA would tone it down maybe they could gain more respect.
17. Mini Rotts? :o :-? Last time I checked there was no such breed.
18.
Fine but I am curious what is breed stereotyping to you? How does someone display that.
To me breed stereotyping is a fixed belief or opinion that is over simplified and usually untrue. I.E.- ALL pitbulls are mean. All small dogs are mean. All poodles are nice. All Labs are friendly. Ect. People dislpay breed stereotyping many differnt ways. Some people make comments when they see that breed. Some people will avoid that breed at all costs.
19. Totally agree with you DAL. I want my old dogo back.
20. Like DAL said this post is about the the image of pitbulls in society and the media. NOT about any guests or who here fights or not. We are all well aware of who does what and why, we don't need you or anyone else for that matter to point out what has already been said 100 times before. If you don't have any comments to make about the original post then just keep it shut.
21.

It seems that I run into misbehaved Cockers the most. Never had a good experince with that breed and every single owner seems to think it's ok to let the d*** dog run loose all over the place.
Yep once again breed stereotyping. Have you ever worked in a shelter, vet's office or grooming shop? I have worked in all 3 and I can tell you that 90% of the cockers I have come in contact with were no trouble at all. How many have you actually met? What has it been two and both were nasty? I honestly can't think of one breed in all my years that I can say was more trouble then any other. They have breed specific issues like the hounds were always making whoo whoo noises, the cockers often had bad ears, the english bulldogs often had bad skin. But behaviorally no worse then any other. I don't feed into that whole a breed is bad there all dogs and all dogs can be trained and worked with. No breed is bad.
*bangs my head against the wall* I'm not breed stereotyping! I have had four bad experices with cockers, and all 4 times the owners let the dog off leash(in areas where leashes are mandatory). I don't hate the breed I hate the stupid owners who thinks it's cute as there dog races toward my dog and snaps at his neck! Do I love cockers and want every one I see at the shelter, no. But I sure as heck don't hate them or think they are all horrible. Bubblezzz-Your dogs sound great. To bad there arn't more owners like you around here. :)
22.
Exactly what do you find so offensive about this? It shows a picture of a pit bull (maybe snarling, maybe not) and implies that pit bulls have high energy.
Uhh, your kidding right? I find the entire thing offensive! Lets see for one they arn't selling product they are selling an image. They are NOT implying that pit bulls have high energy because if they were they would show an entierly differnt picture, like Hmmm said, a weight training pic would show high energy, not some lame picture like this. Labs and Aussies also have high energy but I'm positive that they arn't going to put a picture of a fuzzy little lab on the front of the can and market it as something "urban and cool". The demographic they are tring to sell to is young kids in urban neighborhoods. A promotion at Fairfax High School, Ca? The MTV movie awards? BET awards show? The Ultimate Fighting championship, correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that where they have two guys in a ring and they beat the living hell out of eachother, basically like street fighting? Yea what a great marketing stratagy. Not to mention that the picture is just stupid, why don't they just have blood comming off of it's teeth? :x They obviously want a mean dog image. 23. I went to the grocery store today and saw this with all the other energy drinks. I blew a gasket while in the store and started to yell about the media and societys portrail of pitbulls. No wonder society thinks so little of the Pitbull when junk like this is everywhere. :x http://www.hiphopbev.com/index2.htm Also if you click on promotions it gives you places where they are pushing there product. Good to know they they are giving this junk away to impressionable young teenagers.
24. I've only taken Zebra to Petsmar, 3 dog bakery, and a outdoor resteraunt that caters to dogs. I wish I could take him more places but so many places have the "No dogs allowed" signs on there stores. I have been tempted to take him to Home depot but there is always broken glass and nails in there parking lot and I wouldn't want to risk him stepping on anything. I went threw that list of dog freindly stores and had to laugh when I saw "Pottery Barn" on there...taking a dog into that store would be like letting a bull into a china shop.
25. Well since we are talking about dogs and bad owners it made me think of how many times I've been snapped at or zebra has been snapped at and by what dog. Hands down the meanest dog I have EVER seen was this dog in our training class. It was a Jack Russel and if you even walked within 3 feet of it it would lunge at you and snarle. Once the owner was holding it on her lap and the trainer came over to her and it lunged at the trainer. Now the trainer was pissed..not at the dog but at the owner who after the dog lunged at her cuddled the dog to her chest and cooed that it was "ok". What the?! It was obvious that the dog was horribly untrained and the ownder didn't have half a brain cell. They were eventually kicked out of training because the owner refused to fallow anything our trainer said. It seems that I run into misbehaved Cockers the most. Never had a good experince with that breed and every single owner seems to think it's ok to let the damn dog run loose all over the place. :x Maybe it's just me but I see allot more owners of small dogs that are irresponsible then big dog owners. I see it all the time at the vet, walking down the street, at the petstore..and all the owners just laugh. Yea I'm sure they are realy going to be laughing when there dog bites a child because they didn't take time to train there dog.
