HELP!!! Drivers licence vs. my puppy! I can't choose!!!!
Malamum replied to Crested's topic in Everything about dogs
For me personally being able to drive is a necessity, I would be absolutely lost if I couldn't drive myself places. I say go for the licence the puppy can come later. -
Great idea, and Spirit looks fantastic in the vest.

Important Warning! Harmful Household Product!
Malamum replied to Mary's Mama's topic in Everything about dogs
   poor puppy. I tend to border on the side of paranoia when it comes to Indy, but I'd rather be safe than sorry. I just don't leave ANYTHING in harms way. -
Thanks for the update Ickle, Lilly sounds like a little sweetheart. Roo will just have to visit lots and take lots of pictures to share with us.

I'm a bit late in on this thead but just wanted to say I am sorry you had to go through such a rough time :( Sounds like things are picking up for you though, which is great. The first vet sounds like an absolute idiot and I am so glad you found the second better one. Stick with her. It's also great news that you can get Frontline. It's what I use on Indy and he has only ever had one tick. Remember, although it covers both flees and ticks it guards against flees for a month but only against ticks for two weeks, so you will need to apply it every fortnight. We will all keep our fingers crossed that this is the last of the ticks for Rowie. Good luck - Rowie is lucky to have you.

Awww she is lovely

It will come Courntnek, and when it does it will be well worth the wait. We are all behind you and Freebee in your search for a suitable second fur kid.
Who is this Don Bourke person ?? Is he somebody in Australia ??
Don Bourke is a TV personality who has a gardening show, though over the years it branched into home improvement segments and they now have a segment on a particular breed of dog each week. In the dog segment they pretty much run though what is involved in owning that particular breed in regards to feeding, grooming, exercise needs etc..... I think that in itself is a good thing as people can never have too much education however I don't think he should be promoting breeds like ""Cavdoodles" as it encourages people to breed indiscriminately.

Fantastic Picture Mel, they both look like they are having a ball.

Good work Starfox!!!! :klacz:

grrrrrr he should stick to gardening

What a sad story  Though thanks for posting it Mouse, the more people know about things like that the better.

I don't know how keen I would be on giving an aspirin everyday for an ongoing problem I don't see a problem with it every now and then but am not sure about using it continuously. Alot of people on a malamute board I am a member of use Glucosamine. Here is a link with some further info http://www.arthritis-glucosamine.net/pet-arthritis/glucosamine-pet-arthritis.html

:x I agree, Don Bourke should be ashamed of himself, he really does have a duty to be more responsible than that. Promoting puppies like that on his show is just not on in my opinion.

I don't think you are a chicken at all. If it was right you would just know. Doing something becuase you feel that you should or that you have to is never the right reason.

awwww that is so sweet :buzi:

Hi there, I have an Alaskan Malamute named Indy who will be 1 in 2 weeks. Unfortunately as we live in Australia we don't really have the conditions for sledding :( though in the future I am keen to train him to pull a scooter or 3-wheeled cart, however as I am a first time dog owner the carting is a little out of my league at the moment. We spend a lot of our time doing obedience training so once we have that down pat we will probably get a bit more adventurous in our activities. I would love to hear about your team and sledding activities and of course see lots of pictures.

poor Freebee :( Though it does sound kind of funny. My boyfriends parents have a cat that swipes at Indy. Indy just cries and whines because the cat won't play with him

Goodluck Angelboddy, I hope things work out for you. It's a shame that so many people are so narrow minded... and not just a about dogs, it seems to be about everything these days :(
