1. Dog freindly beaches are wonderful. We have one about 45 min. from here, new in the last year or two. Kavik will go from March to November. Hope you and your pup have fun.

Advice Please...

It does sound like you are just about there. I agree with Hillside it would be nice to see him finish his CH and the bitch too. People cover all those questions and bases as they are not sure what you know etc. If you've already done some of them - excellent. I'm glad you've had appropriate health tests done - its sooooo important.
3.
PETA are despicable scum and the Holocaust comparisons are beyond tasteless. But I believe in free speech. PETA has the right to express their views (In fact, in this case, the expression of their speech is more likely to drive away potential supporters than attract them) and should have been allowed to hold their demonstration. In the US, the ACLU defended the right of Nazi's to march in Skokie IL, a location the Nazi's chose precisely because of a large population of Holocaust survivors.
Just as side note: In Canada or enforcers and legislators have greater leeway in what they can do in regards to these issues. The right to demonstrate on city or public property is not absolute. Other issues such as safety, public decency, harrasment etc. take precedence. This is because Canada is a more socialist democracy and as such the rights of an individual only extend to the point that they may be considered detrimental to another at wich point they are restricted. This means that the rights of society come before the rights of the individual. As such, in Canada, Peta did not have the right to express their views, in the paticular format they had chosen. I think I've got all that correct.
4. "Short" people have a greater chance of being healthy according to some study I can't find my source though. Humans were not originally as tall as we are now - we have been breeding for a taller type of human and it is beyond the normal scope of our species so there are related health drawbacks. (Think Irish Wolfhound here.) By short the study indicated that nobody aught to be over 5'10'' or something. I have a freind with a 2 year old and another on the way and she shops for most of her clothes in the kids section - she is 4'10'', she hates it sometimes.
5. I think 5'6'' is just about perfect height for a woman . . . *sigh*
6. I was thinking the same thing Hillside.
7. Hope all goes well and we get to see soon.
8. I can't believe they could be so insesitive to holocost survivors.

Advice Please...

If he's showing his dog he can't have it desexed right? Anyway, I think people have given pretty good advice. You want to make sure that all things go well so definately the base of things is does each dog have all proper health certs for breeding, check the AKC they should have the recommended health certs for your breed listed. Second would be are both dogs registered and good healthy representations of the breed. Best way to know this is by showing as the judges should give you some clear indications. Third and still really important would be - what will this breeding do to improve the breed. Also do consider wether the litter is spoken for - good breeders often do this. If your not sure about anything - don't. If you got your dog from a good breeder who did all of the above, maybe they can give you some advice.
10. Ah, sadly I don't do Vogon Poetry - masochism is against my belief system.
11. Trip to the beach for a splash with any doggy freinds and a steak?
12. We are the music makers, and we are the dreamers of dreams. Short but cute. Why are doing poetry now?
13. Bwah ha ha I am a mighty 5'4'' and a quarter.
14. Halti Pro Considered a gentler training method Virtually eliminates strong pulling while on halti Has some other training applications such as "watch me" Halti Con May look like a muzzle to the uneducated If you have a dog that bolts suddenly it can do neck damage in theory Some dogs find haltis extemely irritating as they sit somewhat near eyes and across bridge of nose Prong Pro Virtually eliminates strong pulling while on prong Provides correction based on strength of pull independent of your actions - the dog chooses essentially Solid construction Prong Con May appear like a tough or mean training method to the unfamiliar If you have a dog that bolts suddenly it may cause more discomfort Some dogs may find the contraption intimidating In general I would say it depends on your dog. For my dogs neither method is more effective but they find the halti more distressing than the prong so I use the prong. Every dog is different of course. I would go to a pet smart and see if you can try them both on your dog and see wich it accepts more readily. As a note you should not make a correction (pull or snap) with either of these tools.
15.
Because I am no longer a part of the family and now an outsider I am not getting the same curtosy I once did.
People were being curtious and welcoming until there was a perception that you started getting snarky with folks. Maybe you should stop pointing fingers and blaming us for being clicky and take a look at your own posts. Maybe we should all stop and start fresh?
16.
So you can all take comfort that you are "right" and you can continue your sarcasm and rudeness. Or you can choose to take this opportunity to listen to an outside perspective about what is really going on here and take a little personal inventory.
Could you be a little more high and mighty. If we ALL have a right to our opinion why are you trashing folks for trying to do what they think is right and ensure all the Newbs are aware of possible pitfalls (notice that one of the original posts was directed at a GROUP of people that may not have been aware of the RnP thing not just YOU.) If we ALL have a right to our opinion why are you trashing folks for doing what they see as their duty - protecting animals, speaking out against injustices, calling a spade a spade and in general not being complacent about things they feel are important.
Why will no one even recognize this?
Classic me-centric attitude: Why is everyone else to stupid to understand MY obviously correct point of view.
17. That's awsome, they are both so smart . . . and tricksy too.
18. Thanks TDG, I'll try that.
19. Good for him! Lucky he's not in Detroit.
20. I loved this last time you posted it, I think its a great idea, I may have to go get some bitter apple and see how it works here. Kavik is very sensitive so punishment is not really good and Zaphod never gets it when your angry with you he just looks at you like - Why ya shoutin' guy? So the bitter apple "reward" may work well.
21. Excellent. Its about time too.
22. Ah, that makes perfect sense, I overanalyze I guess. Thanks HF! As a side bonus, I really enjoyed the one on one time too.
23. Yes after all it did seem to be a thread on BSL and help to prevent it and sometimes petitions aren't enough, the legislators need an alternative if they aren't going to BSL.
