1.
You are right our world is changing Armageddon is coming and so is Satan and his human warriors we must be prepared lol.
I think her meds expired. And welcome Raider.
2. I don't have a fence so I have to be out there with him. It is not fun, and all he wants to do is diddle around and sniff everything. Why?! WHY didn't I put the fence up first?!
3. You must be lucky if you don't know what I'm talking about. I have to go outside in the freezing cold and pick up the dog poop everyday.
4. Hey, but at least it makes poo pickin' easy - except when it's frozen to the ground.
5.
Hang in there Kiger, paws are slow to heal, is there any treatment for your older doggy?
Benadryl of all things - supposed to help her dizziness. There really isn't anything you can give them. It's just one of those things older dogs can get. At least she's feeling good enough to go outside on her own again. It's 13 degrees here!
6. Whatever she pulled out was immediately lost it was so small. We never did find it. It looks like it's shrinking, just very slowly. He's not as ouchy on it anymore either. At one point he was screaming if he scraped it on the ground.
7. It never ends. Kato has something wrong with his paw. I took him to the vet and she pulled something out, but we never saw what it was. With all the construction going on around me, it could have been almost anything. I thought it would heal up pretty fast, but it's been almost a week now and it's still this icky, warty looking thing on his pad. I've been soaking it and putting antibiotic ointment and cortizone cream on it 3x a day. I think it's getting smaller, but it's hard to tell. He also has a baby tooth that hasn't come out and his adult canine is coming in behind it. On top of that, my old dog was diagnosed with geriatric vestibular disease which means she gets episodes where she falls down, and has nystagmus where she goes partially blind and her eyes jump. I hate it when my pets are sick.

Rimadyl

I've heard it depends on the breed which is weird. I know you aren't supposed to give it to Labs. My Schnauzer has been on it for years with no problems.
9. They look like weims to me. :-?
10.
If you want to SEE what really happens with various places and various cases of animal cruelty go to Animals Voice and take a look at some of thier galleries. I warn you guys do look if you do not really want to know. You will cry and be very upset, but for thse of you who are curious about what really goes on here and abroad i urge you to browse through the galleries. http://www.animalsvoice.com/PAGES/home.html
Again, this is another AR site and for everything you see here, the other side can come up with pictures that refute it. Don't get all your info from sites like PETA, HSUS, etc... These are the people who would like to see an end to companion animals - period. No dogs, no cats, no contact of any kind with any animal - nada. PETA also supports ALF which is pretty much a terrorist organization in my book. These groups prey on emotions and are very good at manipulation and down right lying about some things - i.e. riding horses - to get their way. Yeah, they piss me off almost as bad as animal abusers.
11. That was me.
12.
You all are a bunch of immature morons. Get a life. an outsider comes in and you all get really huffy. you sound like a bunch of elementary school kids.
And to think I tried to defend you... BITE ME - how's that for immature?
13. I think they are vegetable based so that they can make them really hard and not have them splinter like rawhide. They are also completely digestible. I give Kato one once a week to help clean his teeth and freshen his breath. He loves them.
14. I saw one being used for the first time the other night. There was a BIG 4 year old boxer in my basic training class who basically ran the house - people were there just to feed him. When the trainer asked him to sit (this is pre-prong when he had a gentle leader on), he tried to bite her. So on went the prong. He was really pissed that someone was actually making him obey, but he did it. From what I understand, it pinches - it looks like those prongs would poke right through the skin, but they don't. Then, there was another couple there with a spitz-type mix and they had never disciplined the dog or taught her anything. When they did finally ask (in a wishy washy kinda way), the dog ignored them. The trainer told them she'd give them their money back if they weren't going to work with the dog - out came the prong again. The wife finally made the dog sit and the dog screamed her head off - just like a Shiba. The whole time I was watching him thinking how glad I was that I started early with Kato and didn't give in when he threw a tantrum. He only needs a flat collar. :o

Puppy Diet

I don't feed puppy food. Canidae doesn't have a puppy formula and is supposed to be for all life stages. I just feed more of it to Kato. He looks great so I'm satisfied.
16. Or the numbers for the next Powerball!!

Show breeders

Not everyone with a large number of champions is like that. The breeder I got Kato from has finished 80 AKC champions and I would put her breeding practices up against any of the best (although she didn't breed all those dogs herself.) She knows where all of them are too.

Commercial Breeders

Didn't one of them say that all puppies needed was air and water? I swear I remember something like that...
19. Oh yeah, and how come the animals look so darn bored even though they can suddenly communicate their every desire? One cat was completely asleep.
20. How come she never knows what the animal's name or gender is? And from what I can gather from watching the previews, all the animals think everyone is VERY VERY RUDE to them. Guess you can call me a skeptic... :-?
21. Uh...that's just creepy. :o

Breeders Ethics

Hey, what about us childfree by choice people?!
23.
OK...I don't get this. Since she was a show dog before we got her (almost three yrs old), shouldn't she be pretty socialized????
No, my breeder does not let her dogs play with eachother - her 3 month old puppy was already growling at Kato when we went to visit. When I went to the Shiba specialty none of the dogs there were allowed to interact either. I think it's ironic that my breeder is always saying what a great tempered, happy dog Kato is - but that I shouldn't let him play with other dogs. Well, how does she think he got the way he is?! Sometimes I wonder if the Shiba attitude problem that you always hear about is really human made.
24. A lot of people have asked me if they come any smaller - like mini size. I'm sure it's only a matter of time before the millers get hold of them and make it happen. I'm afraid they are going to get more and more popular. I must have had 18 people say they wanted Kato last time I was in Petsmart - I said NO YOU DON'T! Someone asked if he was a little wolf.
