I made a new friend today.
Awwww, your such a sweet heart for wanting to foster this kitty. What does your mom think of this idea. I would say to take him in, and put some flyers up around where you picked him up from. And if nobody claims him, then i would say to find a forever home for him.
Thanks Angel! I still haven't told my mom. It all depends on her mood... :-? (eek!) I'll look around the compound, it's really small, just one road, so I guess I'll ask my teacher if this kitty belongs to anyone he knows in the compound... :D I can't wait till sunday! I'll just need to get a cat carrier from the BSPCA... :D -

Forgot to add, the kitten had a bent tail.. :( I think it's broken, but when I touches his tail, he didn't show any signs of pain? :-? Now I really want to help this kitty.... -
:D I had a kickboxing lesson today, with Deez, her sis, our other friend and her sis too. After the lesson, we where all sitting on the steps leading to the building, just chatting and wiping the sweat off our faces, and waiting for our parents to pick us up, when suddenly an adorable little ginger kitten comes up to us, meowing and begging us for food. It was the cutest little thing, and followed us everywhere! It was pretty tame, for a stray. Time went by and Deez and the rest left, and I was sitting all alone on the steps, when the ginger kitty comes up to me, meowing again. Now, I have loads of experience with cats. Especially strays. I used to rescue strays, and had my own kitties. Anywhoo, the kitten came up to me, but I ignored it, making my hands into fists in the process, so the kitten would think I had a a treat for it. Pretty soon it came up to me, and started sniffing my hand. Even though I didn't have any food in my hand, I think the kitty liked to be touched by human hands. When it finally warmed up to me, I began petting it. Slowly at first, and really calmly. To make a long story short, by the time my mom was there to pick me up, the kitten was purring in my lap! It followed me all the way to my door, and when I shut the door, it gave me the most sad kitty eyes ever. The kind of face that sais :"Where are you going?". My heart shattered into a million pieces. This kitty was too tame and sweet to be a stray! I thought of him all the way home, and am still thinking about him! That's how I made a new friend. But just being his friend isn't enough for me (not in that way :o), I want to rescue him, maybe even foster him, and find hime a home! Do you think it's the right thing to do? My kickboxing classes are in a compound, in the teacher's home, and I'm thinking what if the kitten is his or someone else in the compound's kitten, but without a collar? :-? That isn't possible, right? I mean, it was their responsibility to put a collar on the kitten! My plan so far is to take him to the BSPCA. If they're over crowded, I was thinking the un-thinkable. Fostering him. But with a year old Golden, how can I keep the peace? I know how to take care of a dog and a cat, but not both of them at once. Not intoducing them anyway. Any suggestions? (by the way, the kickboxing teacher saw the kitten, and didn't seem to recognize it or call it or anything, so I don't think it's his kitty)

If you are a breeder, then you where supposed to know the signs. But I'm aussuming your not. The day after shot is good, so is spaying. Taking care of litters is only for experienced breeders. It is really hard to take care of a whole litter. There's the removal of dew claws, de worming, cropping/docking if needed, medical bills for every single puppy and the bitch, emergency cash will be needed incase the bitch needs a emergancy cesarean...etc...etc. The list is endless. If you do not think you are up to this, get her spayed. It's the most humane thing to do.

Reminds me of K's old sig: "Is it a furry pit?" Nope, all pit puppies are born shorthaired. Don't have the "puppy fur". Did you find one? Do you have a pic? It should be a mix... maybe a genetic defect? Noobody thought that dogs could be hairless until some genetic defect that got them hairless. :niewiem:

   Yah BK!   Courtnek, Rowie does the same. She loves birds! Natural bird dog she is! She will stare at them, then start to stalk them. She only caught a pigeon once. Let's say she didn't have a soft mouth *wince*. I love Goldens so much! :iloveyou: I know how hard it must have been to part with him, Courtnek...

I can't believe it's been a year! During my internet "life", I have seen and done many things. Although Dogomania was the first forum I ever joined, I had been to others. Many didn't like the fact that I was a teenager, many didn't like the way I always got hyper and put so many smilies in one post. Even though I never joined the other forums, I was always a Guest and saw their ways. Bashing each other, forming "groups" against each other. No Moderators, nobody to stop the bad things happening. Always the same. Most forums just ended up in disaster. Then came a day in April, 2002. While browsing for some good dog sites, I came upon Dogomania. I used the search engine, then the forum caught my eye. I read some threads, and I found Dogomania to be unlike a forum I had ever seen. Friendly and informative, forming bonds with each other, no bashing, no nothing. I enjoyed reading some intresting debates going, and questions asked by dog owners. After that, Dogomania slipped my mind. Then, school ended and I had loads of time to do some research on Golden Retrievers and Dog Care. I was on Golden websites almost all day, researching breeders, pedigrees, and such. When one day the name "Dogomania" crossed my mind. I typed it up, and lo and behold! There was Dogomania! Soon, all my time was devoted to Dogomania. I was addicted. But I was always a "Guest", given my previous experience with forums. Soon, I knew almost all the members and their dogs. Then, just before school started on the 26th of Augest, I decided to join Dogomania. That was the happiest day of my life. So I wasn't very "forum like", I admit. I was always putting too much smilies in my post and not writing correctly. I guess I was that dog lover from h*ll! But everyone tolerated me, made me feel welcome. Everyone was always so sweet, and accepted me for who I was. They didn't mind that I was a teenager, they didn't mind that I put too much smilies and whatever. Everyone was so welcoming, sweet, informative. I couldn't believe that such a forum could exist. I've seen alot of changes in Dogo over the past year. There where ups and downs. But no matter what, everyone remained firm friends. No matter we where more then 1000's of miles away from each other. No matter we where from different cultures, time zones, customes, and etc. We all remained friends and that's what I love about Dogo! We all form close bonds and I would never, ever exchange Dogo for anything else! Thanks to every single member, old or new, for making this such a wonderful place, and making me feel so welcome! -Rowie-the-Pooh
Maybe some spaniel? Poor Poodles are the biggest victums of designer dogs, because they don't shed and are intellegent people expect that all the pups will get these good traits and then when they don't live up to the expectations the poor innocent pup gets left at the pound  She does look very poodle-y but if anything I would say maybe a quarter Cocker
I think some Cocker too! BCBlondie! Long time no see! :D Welcome to Dogo!

I was just readint he Ebay thingie and I hafto say my daft mind didn't understand a thing.... What I understand is, they think it is the owners chioce as to what they feed their dogs, and what brand, but they are against PETA? AND they say that IAMS is okay because they didn't know or whatever? I lost it there... I couldn't read anymore... Well I say I have to agree with Guest! :D (A good guest for once guys! ) I find your views are exactly like mine. I am also against IAMS. I find it hard to believe they didn't know anything? But I am STILL anit-PETA. I never knew PETA had done such things until a few weeks ago. And this thread made it clearer. Oh just a sec, mom told me to get off the comp.... see yah all tomorow! (Aniversarry BTW) Guest, you are very welcome to join by the way, please do! :D  -

Now Icy has gone and sprayed bitter apple on all the table legs! Humph! Other then that things are great here, Odie taught me how to actually "fetch" and not just take the ball and chew on it. Thanks for sending me my orange squeeky ball! Last night we all had a snooze near the fireplace, and it was great! Please don't come looking for me, I am having the time of my life (and it's free too!). Well, that's it, hope to hear from you soon.
