Taurus was a medium-gold, which I like better as well...But he was large, boisterous, crazed about being paid attetion to - typical!!! I have a picture of him with Isis, my old cat....They are laying on the floor tegether and Isis is snuggling up to Taurus, and he actually has his paw over Isis's back, like he's saying "he's my pal..." OK so I have to tell a story now. Some have heard it already, although I dont know if Rowie has.... Taurus and Isis became fast friends in a short period of time. Isis was a kitten and Taurus was about 9 when I got Isis....Taurus passed on when he was 13, so Isis would have been 4..... I had Taurus cremated seperately and still have his ashes in a little sealed urn with his name on it....Isis was devastated after he died, couldnt figure out what happened to his best friend..... When I brought the urn home, I put it on the bookcase headboard on my bed. I went to work. I came home from work, and found the urn on the floor in the living room, with Isis sleeping next to it, like he used to sleep next to Taurus. Although I found this strange, I picked up the urn and put it back on the headboard. It didnt matter. No matter where I put it, Isis would find it and drag it out, and sleep next to it. Now this was a cat that could open any door ever invented, including the front door unless it was bolt locked (I'm NOT kidding) so even putting the urn in cabinets didnt work. I eventually gave up. I bought a special bed for Isis and put the urn in it, and it stayed there until Isis passed away. He slept with it whenever he slept, and if you moved it he would pace and meow till you put it back. Kinda weird, huh? He was so attached to that dog that even in death (I suspect he could smell the ashes through the urn or something) he wouldnt let go.... Isis was cremated as well, and his urn now stands next to Taurus' on the headboard, never to be seperated again.
Courtnek, that is a beautiful, beautiful story! I'm all chocked up now....
I have the pleasure of owning a Japanese Chin bred by Adrienne Wilder of Tsuwa/Snapdraggon. My Saki is a gorgeous, well-bred, wonderfully socialized boy who will turn two in November. I have the highest regard and respect for Ms. Wilder as a breeder. If you are selected to own a Tsuwa or Snapdraggon puppy, you will not be disappointed! And I do mean select! She is very particular about who owns her babies!
marivi90804, this is definately fate! I was wondering about talking to other people who have purchased dogs from Ms. Wilder. :) Can we please chat some time? Can you PM me? Ms. Wilder seems like an excellent breeder, I am seriuosly considering purchasing one of her puppies. But not for another year or two. The screening process will be hard I am sure, since she has never seen me before, and I am living on another continent. Something I was thinking of doing is sending her a video of our "life". You know, the house, the garden, Rowie (my other Golden) , feeding time, play time, training time...etc. Sound like a good idea? :)

:D Tomorow, at a club nearby, The Canine Association of Bahrain is having it's 9th annual open Dog Show! I'm so excited! Of course, I am going! Nadooshkinz is coming with me, and so are some other friends of mine. I am so happy! This is going to be my second dog show, but it's been so long! And now I know so much more about dogs then ever before! Last time there where Borzois, Lhasa Apsos, Golden Retrievers, Siberian Huskies, Maltese, St.Bernards, Daschunds, Pomeranians, GSDs, mixes and beautiful, beautiful Salukis! I never even knew there where breeds other than the GSD and some other breeds in Bahrain! This time I won't be the shy girl in the background! No! This time I am going up to fellow Dog Lovers and I am going to talk to them! Ask them where they got their dogs from, if they shipped them here... etc. Sadly, I am not taking Rowie. She is not ready for the Show Ring (even though it is a fun show, and if your dog wins "best in show" it doesn't get a title or anything). I just heard about it a week ago, and I have not had time to prepare or anything. Hopefully next time! I think there's one in Juanuary.... And YES, I will be taking a camera with me... AND posting them on Dogo! :) Okay, it will be Nadooshkinz's camera but it's the thought that counts....right? Anyways, I was really excited and just needed to tell someone! Wish me luck tomorow! I am hoping I will get to meet some other Golden Retriever owners! -Rowie-the-Pooh

What a great topic! :D Rowie: Rowie had her (unusual) name before I got her. Her Pedigree name is "Pataya Farm's Morning Star". I never asked the owner where he got her name from, or why she was named that, or what it meaned. I now know I should have asked! But a internet search told me that her name meant :"Scottish Bread Roll". Errrm..... I have a bread roll for a dog? Nicknames: Rowie Pooh, Rowie-the-Pooh, RooRoo, "sit, sit, sit", bitch (cuz she is sometimes ) fuzzbutt, Roo Pooh, honeysuckle, pooh pooh, "rowie wanna snuggle?", doll face, smoosh toosh, rowz, run run, and finally... NO ROWIE NO!

I'm so happy for you DAL! Way to go Cody! :D He deserves a big hug and a cookie ... I agree..!! AND a pig ear! Don't forget the pig ear! D-O-G!! That hilarious! What an unusual name... maybe I'll name my next dog D-O-G! I once saw a film called "Keeping Isaah" or something like that. I think it's spelled "Isaah" or something remotely similar. Anyways! Congratulations and keep up the good work! :D (Just a thought, why not train Zoey with this trainer? She seems great!) -

This is so unfair! I can't see the pic! Someone send it to me please! I wanna see! -
I'm so sorry you have to go through all this, Sharpeigirl! It must be a hard time for you... but I want you to know two things: A) You gave Pepper something that was never, ever given to her before. Love. She had never, as far as I know, felt the touch of a humans hand lovingly caress her muzzle. She had never known a warm bed, a fresh full meal, another canine friend. She had never slept in a crate, never heard loving words come out of a human's lips. You gave her all of these during her last moments of life. True, Sassy did attack her, but you could do nothing to prevent it, could you? you cannot keep beating yourself up because Sassy did what her instinct told her to do. This was God's will. She is at the rainbow bridge right now, waiting for you obediently, waiting for the only human that gave her love! B) Please, please, please, and I cannot stress this enough, please wait a bit before considering re-homing Sassy. Run a few tests with your trainer, take her home (with your trainer or Proffesional Behaviorist) and try to analyze her. Let her meet other dogs (supervised and on a leash of course) and watch how she reacts. Take notes. Maybe by taking day after day notes you will be able to recognize a pattern in her behavior? Good Luck! So sorry about dear, sweet, innocent Pepper! She will be missed!

I'm so sorry Rott! This must be a very hard time for you... be strong and keep your chin up... I once heard of a Beagle that was missing for 6 years but was found! There is always... always... always hope! I hope Snowhite is found soon and is reunited with her family yet again! Sending postive thoughts your way!

I know this probably isn't the best time to ask this. But I was wondering if you could help me with my ava? I got a new computer, and have no idea how to re-size this picture: I was just wondering how it would turn out as an 80x80 pixel picture. Thanks! Your the best! :D

Ahhh, I used to have the same problem with Rowie, until I let her sniff it, examine it, and realize it wasn't that exciting. But now I am faced with a different problem. :-? I have 3 different types of brushes for our grroming sessions. She will leave 2 of these alone while I brush, but one of them (a double sided brush) she just loves to chew on! While I am grooming her, she will twist and try to grab the brush! This is very weird, because I have allowed her to sniff/examine it, un yet she still tries to grab it? :-?
