Anyone see "I"m obsessed with my dog"?
Rowie-the-Pooh replied to StarFox's topic in Everything about dogs
Ok, everyone STOP!  As Aonir said, to each their own opinion! This IS a good thread, but I'm afraid something might break out. Let's just face it, some people like dying their dog's fur, while some don't. Some people think it's the owner's choice. We can't change other people's opinions. We can all get our points across and that's it! To those who dye your poodle's, okay. To those who don't, okay. To those who oppose of it, okay. To those who think it's the owner's choice, okay. Let's just forget this topic, okay? -
Rowie, you're an  If you do decide to take her home, Goldens are generally very good with other animals. Introduce them with the kitty in the carrier at first, then, while supervised, let them meet thru a baby gate. It will take the kitty longer to get used to Rowie then Vice Versa.... putting up signs and stuff is always a good idea too thanks Rowie, just for being YOU!!
Awwww, thanks Courtnek!    I can't wait till Sunday! I'll tell you all how it goes! I'm so excited... -
I vote DP and Rosebud for president!
Geez, thanks Rowie, I am very flattered, I will have to decline the nomination as I am not too fond of participating in politics, but Thanks anyways.
 Aww, it's okay!
Where do people get the idea that just because they own a pure bred they should breed it? Or that the best way to go about breeding a dog is to find a pure bred, find a mate (possibly *shudder* of a different breed, eg labradoodle) and let them go at it!!!! Its not that easy, and there are countless "good" breeders out there who spend decades trying to perfect the breed, countless hours doing research etc and for what? So people can buy their pups from inexperienced breeders and go on to breed pups of their own, probably full of all sorts of genetic defects!!! Ok, my advice to you, if you have looked in to the breed and have yourself a top quality dog get involved in showing and see if you can accomplish a tittle. After 2 or more years your bitch should be old enough to breed - NOT BEFORE!!!! If your dog comes into season do EVERY THING THAT YOU CAN to ensure no other dog gets near her. You have ALOT of reasearching to do before you can even consider breeding her, and especially bulldogs are NOT a good breed for first timers!!! So contact her breeder, she can help you select a stud dog and go through the ropes with you. She will know her dogs better than any one else, so she should be able to tell you what sort of possible birth problems may exist in her lines, and what dog is best to breed yours with, as if she is a good breeder she will have already done a great deal of research into blood lines and what goes best with what. If this isn't the case, and you just picked up your pup from an ad in the newspaper, or, heaven forbid, the pet shop DO NOT BREED, GET YOUR BITCH SPAYED BEFORE SHE GOES IN TO HEAT!!!! It will be the best for everyone.
everything I wanted to say was said here! You go gurl!

Welcome to the forum! :) To answer your question, I would say I have no idea. I am not an expert on either breeds, but a good thing to do is to write both the breeds names on a piece of paper, then under their names have two coloumns, "Cons" and "Pros". Then write the cons and pros of each, it should make your choosing much clearer and easier! Also, and this is advice from someone who has experienced it, I would not suggest getting a puppy in the midst of moving. I got my then 6 month Golden, about a week after moving. There where boxes everywhere, men still working on some stuff, etc. etc. I nervous dog, or small puppy, or any dog for that matter, will need to be introduced to it's new home in a calm, quiet manner. Men working, or boxes everywhere, etc. Will scare a puppy. Also, you could also be stressed by moving. Papers, money, problems. I would say wait a couple of months, until your settled, have time for the puppy, and the house is queit and calm. Of course, I have no idea of your status. Your house probably will be calm, no boxes or anything. So it really depends on how everything goes... Good luck! And please keep us updated! :D
Hey guys it is Tom from the show (I have Sophia the american bulldog) anyway I found this site on a yahoo search and just wanted to reply to some things...#1 I would not ever have sex with my dog. As far as Salona and I... We filed a visa...K-1 fiance visa and it takes 6 to 9 months to get approved so she will be coming back here and we are getting married. In the mean time in November I am going to South Africa to stay with her for 6 months then we are coming back together and getting married. Our relationship is awesome we have the best. Of course you dont see the good stuff on TV. Anyway I love her a lot and we're going to be together forever....with Sophia of course
Nobody said you had sex with you dog. I'm glad to hear that you and your fiance are doing better.... but why will you not let her sleep on the bed? :o And how can we really know you really are Tom from the show? :-? -

In response to Lolita for Life.... All of us here are mature, and we can all act like adults. Who are you to come and say we are crazier then the MTV show? Why can't you act like an adult and reason it out with us? There seems to be confusion about what I and some other people said... I was against what Shay's owner said. "That's what they where bred to do" plus, she mentioned that the poodle didn't like to be dyed, but did she care? No! I think it is the OWNERS choice whether or not to dye dogs hair or not. All I was saying was that I would not. THAT IS MY OPINION THAT IS WHAT THIS BOARD IS FOR! Here we share opions, and give out personal opinions, this is a public board, and we can all say whatever we like to say. Sorry, but that's the way it is.
i dont understand why DYING is such a huge deal to some of you.. yet cropping ears & docking tails make perfect sense huh?! please
Oh please! You don't even know us! I for one am against cropping and docking! Who are you to say we are with it?????? Make sure you read carefully before you start judging people! The label on the can said that it was for humans! And the dog was licking it! I appreciate how much that person loves her dog, we all do. ALL of us on this board are serious dog lovers. We do what is best for our dog. We care what is best for dogs all around the world. We cared for this little poodle, why is that so bad? This is our board after all and we can vioce our opinions like anyone else! Sorry, but that's the way it is. And just because you call us crazy doesn't mean we're going to change our mind! You gotta relax hun! 8) And why are you so mad about this whole thing?? Are you Shay's owner? If so, why can't you talk like an adult and reason like an adult instead of jumping to conclusions? :-? Waiting for a reply..... Rowie-the-Pooh  -

Thanks Cassie! :D Thanks Angel! :D I just remembered that I have seen the kitty before! :o With a brother/sister, a tabby kitten. Today the tabby wasn't there. This is getting confusing! I think I'll put up fylers and ask everyone at class and the teacher too! Thanks everyone for the info! I really hope this works out.... :D -
You can get her spayed now. In general, it takes 63 days for the pups to be carried to term. Taking care of a litter is HARD WORK. Not to mention messy, heartbreaking work. A whole litter of pups constantly crapping in your house...and waking you up at three am when the mom gets up to get something to eat or drink and you're listening to six screaming, squeaky, scratchy voices telling you how upset they are over the whole thing. And then they might be sickly and start getting ill and fading away. Or you give them all away and six months later one gets dumped in your yard, a humongous dog with NO manners and a fear of children. It really would be just easier to spay her quickly, before anything results from the locking up...
 The heart breaking part is right! I once helped rescue a momma cat who was pregnant. When she gave birth 2 kittens died, then the next week 3 more died. Only one was left... it was so sad... They had been in the BSPCA and I had been watching the cats and kittens for some time... I cried my eyes out when I heart that only one was left.... Who has the website to the virtual breeding thingie? I lost it...
