1.
I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again, Abker you really do have a sensible head on your shoulders. A big thumbs up to you.
Ditto to that. You are truly amazing, Abker.
 2.
as if life in your house is not confusing enuff for carse! here is what i would do -- load up your pockets with snacks (dog snacks :D ) and when your granpa does something like try to trip carse or push carse or whatever pop a treat in his mouth, carson that is. this way maybe you can teach him when granpa pushes or "plays" with him he should come get a snack from you. you may be able to avoid a potentially bad situation here. i would also treat the situation as a child and dog -- never let them be alone together. if you see your granpa do something inappropriate it is ok to tell him no we don't do it that way. you might have to teach carse to go somewhere else for dinner esp if granpa will eat with you frequently. you could crate him near the table so he still feels like he is with the family. just my suggestions. ps i think granpa may need NILIF hahah!
We're trying to get Carson to lay down on the other side of the table by my Dad so he's not in the way of feet. As for never letting Carse be alone with my gmpa, thats easy! Carse always follows my Dad around, CONSTANTLY. So I'll make sure he keeps doing that. I'll start carrying around snacks whenever my Grandpa's here.
Just direct Carson away from him. If need be, tether him to you. It is NOT her Grandfather's fault. So for everyone saying nasty things about him, take the time to think that it sounds like he is either in the begining stages of Alzheimer's or Dementia. If you do not know what that does to a person, then actucally, I'm glad that you don't have to witness it. But it will take the most intellegent person you know and turn him into a three year old before your eyes. Go ahead folks.....get p*** at me if you want to....but until you've had to deal personally with a disease like this and what it does to someone, you'll never understand.
I also know that it isn't his fault. When my dad was growing up, he LOVED dogs. They always had them, and mostly mutts, lol. So seeing him being so.. mean? to Carson, its really weird. My mom was shocked when I told her what I was seeing. It really is the best way to explain it, seeing a grown man turn into a toddler before your eyes. Its the most stressfull, depressing thing to see.
Your Grandfather is not going to remember not to do certain things and that it's not something he has control over at this stage of his life. So maybe you can help Carson keep out of his way.
Exactly.. He's going to the Docter on thursday to get an overall check up, and we'll see what he thinks about the memory loss. He wont remember us talking to him about it, but Carse will remember to stay out of the way. Thats probably the way to go.. Thanks for all your help guys.
 3.
Well, if it were my grandpa, I'd just sell him to some overseas electronics sweatshop...
Dont give me ideas.. :evilbat:
wow what a jerk  have you tried talkin to your parents about it? how much longer is your grandpa there for?
I'm going to talk to him tonight after he leaves. He's living at a retirement senior housing thing about 3 miles from our house, so he'll be over here alot. And there really is no point in talking to him about it because his short term memory is completely shot, he wont remember things we told him 5 minutes ago.. :(
4. I've been noticing something about my grandpa. See, he sits in the rocking chair by the couches, right behind where Carson frequently runs to get on the couch. Now whenever Grandpa's sitting there, and Carse runs by, Grandpa puts his foot out to get his legs caught up and tripping him. :-? Then when my uncle and aunt were over, he was talking to Jim (uncle) while my dad was playing with Carson, and said "I really dont like that dog.." and thennnn today during dinner he kept shoving his feet at Carse who took his place laying under the table, the only place where he wont beg. GRRRR. I'm afraid that Carse will think that he's playing, and start play barking/growling and Gmpa will hit him, and then Carse will nip back at him. (What my dad and he are constantly doing.) Any suggestions?
 5.

BM Id do anything to save that dog so I dont care what would happen to me,
Well WE care what would happen to you! But the main point is, as others have said it sounds non-do-able on so many levels. Also, if this dog disappears they will just buy another poor pup to torture.
My thoughts exactly. I dont think its a good idea for you to do this, anyone who would have a dog in such poor condition, only for dog fighting, isnt the greatest person in the world, and you most definitaly do not want to make enemies with him/her.
 6. lol, I voted - Nothing I just love my dog. :D Mainly because since I'm just turning 14, its not legal here for me to help with rescues. :-? :(
 7. OMG. THE ONLY COMPUTER LEFT IN THE HOUSE. WORKS. I CAN SEE THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love em. Love em love em love em love em love em!!!!!! Once we get the site set up then we can make those clickable and advertise places. *dances around room* Weeeeeee!!!!

 9.
Okay, BM. :D lol ESS, and Carson is on there too :(
AHHHHH!! *falls over* I'm going on MY computer and throwing this stupid laptop OUT the window.
 10. *stomps around* I CANT SEE THEM !!!!! Stupid laptop *grumbles*
 11. Woohooo!
 12. I'm so sorry Kat... RIP Zoe... Run free at the bridge.
 13. lol, Rowie, thats what I think too. But my dad on the other hand... "Oh, He can tell the difference between the old one and the new one! That ones silver!!" :o Uhm, Dad? No. GRRR. Somebody wanna train my dad? :P
 14.
speaking of the whole cropping for safety thing..ESS did ya ever notice how it's the SHOW breeders who crop but the majority of FIELD breeders do NOT crop :-? isnt that funny? they say cropping is for the safety..yet the dogs who work all day still have their tails but the dogs who just get pranced around the ring are docked? i've spent a good deal of time checking out ESS breeders...there are a couple of field breeders that dock some of their dogs..but most of the ones i found do not dock their dogs tails....yet every single show breeder docks because "its' the standard"
Yup. All feild springers that I've seen have full tails, so that the hunter person can see where they are. But, purebred full tailed springers look funny to me. One on MAESSR, his tail was so fat. It looked really funny to me. I think the person adopting the puppy should get to pick whether the dog to be cropped or not, it shouldnt be the breeders choice to do all of them..
 15. :o Oh my doG!! Merlin's getting HUGE!! I remember when he was just an itty bitty puppy! He's quite the handome fella!
 16. I kinda feel the same way AAP, but I guess I'm a hipocrite cuz I like the way alot of it looks. And if people say that docking and stuff keeps them safe.. tell me... why would you not dock a Labs tail? Those things are killer! :o
 17.
Maybe it's a sign that he'll begin to behave himself more?
I hope so! Maybe it was a fluke, but I really liked that.
 18. Carson was just chewin on a remote (one he's already destroyed, so we're letting him play with it) and barking and playing with my dad, and he got really wound up, and grabed onto my dads arm with his teeth, and my dad yells, "COOL IT!" ONE TIME. and he lets go, completely calms down, lets go of the remote and lays down.. :o I've never seen him so.. obedient? Yeah. thats it. :o
 19. I think its great. You were just doing what was in his best intrest, in no way does that mean you're a bad dog owner. And I know that Kari will take great care of Stryker, no questions asked there. I cant wait to see pics of him at his new home, I'm sure the kids are happy to have him there, and he's so much happier. It was really brave of you to do that, though. I know you'll miss having him. But this way you'll get to see him still, so thats good, right? Hope he settles in nicely. :D
 20. Signed. Poor pup...
 21. Wooo! I'll make sure to vote! :D
 22. Ohhhhh.. haha. I guess its not that then, eh?
 23. How does he do with cats? Maybe there had been a cat in there before, and he could still smell it?
 24.
Now I won't lie, my 13 year old can be a smart @44 pain in the butt but he won't do it when we are out. I am always complimented on well behaved and helpful they are.
Sounds like me and my brother!! We're expected to be well behaved when out of the house, or when company is over. But when no one else is home, its gone to hell. lol
 25. Oh Izzy, I'm so sorry about the pups. Glad that Tina's alright though. Hope to see pics soon. :(
