:o I was walking him this morning, and he was pullin (as usual, I'm the only one who works with him on that.. :x ) and I was just humming and I was like.. "hmm la la la lay la leyyyyyyy" and he stopped dead. I said "La ley" again, and he just kinda looked up at me. I started walking and said "La ley" and he pretty much was heeling!! :o :o If he got a bit ahead of himself, if I said "la let!" He would wait for me to catch up and then heel again. The long held out "leyyyyyyy" is for stopping. Therefore! La leyyyyyyy = wait/stay/pause La ley = Heel / walk pretty La let!! = Come back and walk pretty again It was crazy. :lol:

She's two, turning three on May 5th. She hasnt bitten anybody before, and he didnt do anything fast, just layed down. He said that a lil while ago, she would growl at him when he layed down next to her, but only like 2 times has she done that. He's really worried. He's scared to go talk to his mom (she's asleep) because he's scared they'll have to get rid of her. She's his little baby.

He just went to the kitchen to get something to drink, and was walking by her and she growled at him. Ughh. I'm really worried. I want them to take her to the vet just to rule that out if nothing else...

Teddy just called me and told me that Venus (Australian Cattle dog) had bit him. He said he just layed down next to her and she bit him and ran off. He's kinda shocked and scared and is nervous to go see if she's ok. He isnt bleeding or anything, just really shook up. I told him that she might just not be feeling well and acting out on that. Any ideas? Thanks guys, replies needed asap. I'm worried for both him and Venus. :( Edit-- Forgot to say, she isnt really a cattle dog. More built like a short hair Collie, but the coloring of a cattle dog. She's pretty big.

I am contacting all of you to let you be aware of couple from Ft. Lewis, Washington (lived there last we heard) that keeps going through dogs like crazy. The couple are Naomi and Justin Browlow. They have a Rottie mix named Zoe,Pom named Moose and a cat named Tank! Naomi has had 3 poms within the last 6 months. Boonie was PTS due to heartworm ,Stryker was rehomed because he listened to kids better than her so she gave him to a friend of hers. She now has a Pom named Moose. She also had a deaf Aussie(I believe a blue merle)named Cody pts because of aggression and he supposedly attacked a child (this maybe true but we have our doubts). Justin is currenly away in Iraq and when he comes back supposedly they're either moving to Colorado or Arizona. Naomi is very unstable right now as it is. One day they're moving to Germany the next she's planning on dumping a dog off at her in-laws. Then she says she's leaving Hubby next she says is that they're going to work things out. We think they should be placed on a DNA(do not adopt) list. Heres a link with some disscussion on this issue. ... :o I was watching the other night, and they were at some dog fighting ring/home. They ended up getting about 60 dogs (pitties) out of there. They were talking about how "Unlike other dogs, Pit Bulls can snap a bone with one bite." :-? And that they have jaw muscles unlike other dogs? That go all the way up to the top of their head?? :-? :o I'm not sure how much of that is true, but I do know that ANY DOG THAT IS OVER A CERTAIN WEIGHT CAN BREAK BONES. I hate the stereotypes that *dog people* are putting out into the public.. :( They were making them sound more like sharks then dogs..

Yay!! Good luck at the shelter, be sure to update us with any news! My dad goes to the shelter all the time just to look.. he never even thinks about getting a new doggy. He toys with the idea, but knows it wouldnt be practical.. GOOD SEARCHING!
