Long-coat (or flat-coat) versions of your breeds?
AllAmericanPUP replied to drjeffrock's topic in General questions
Oh yeah, there must be that variants of rough and long hair, but they're not recognized as a pure breed, the standard of the breed says the hair can't be long., I guess a rough basset could be a cute pup. If i didn't fix diesel and the girls i could found it!... j/k of course. It's like thinking in a long haired Bloodhound, anyone has seen one? :-? edited to add: Here's a pic of a Grand Basset Griffon Vendeen the breed is related with the basset hound, because of their history, but today they're two diferent breeds.
yes but i personally could care less about standards. most of the standards are rediculous. like white GSD's arent real GSD's..long haired GSD's arent real GSD's....certain colored danes arent real danes....an am staff can only have so much white, etc. etc. it's all pretty rediculous really. -

there is a rough coated basset hound. the one down the street is not rough coated....really her body isnt much long than a smooth coated basset but her tail definately shows her longer coat..... -

Long-coat (or flat-coat) versions of your breeds?

i LOVE long haired akitas. eli's previous owner had one..it was a cutie from what i seen in the pics.. i dont reckon there are any long haired pit bulls  -
I personally would never adopt any dog that has bitten before... this dog is going to be with you for quite a few years, so dont adopt a dog from stray dog just because you volunteer....if none of the dogs click with you from stray dog then oh well.....obviously they arent in danger of dying....so i would adopt any dog that clicks with you....

Responsible breeders have no problem answering questions about their breeding practices and their dogs. Back yard breeders get very defensive and avoide questions. It's lookin pretty clear as to wich one you are

It was 102 here according to the bank temperature thingy..but it only felt like 80 to me :-? it was a pretty nice day actually..nice and sunny..but now it's storming

yes! definately call the police. i wish you would have gotten out of the car and your mom would have called the police...if you dont report it then it cant be stopped

That shelter needs to be shut down or have different staff, that is truly sickening, shows that they dont really care about the dogs adn they are NOT helping the dogs at all. It's not that hard to answer why you breed dogs, it's either for show, work or money.

do you have pitbull problems where you live
AllAmericanPUP replied to imported_Irena's topic in Amstaffs & Pit Bulls
the USA as a whole doest have a "pit bull problem" and pit bulls and other breeds are banned in alot of citys  thankfully we do not have any "pit bull problem" in my town..i'm only 18 years but in my short lil life i've never heard of a pit bull attack in my town.....there are alot pit bulls in this town but from what i have seen they are all well cared for..i've yet to find one pit bull in this town that is tied up in someones back yard(and yes i've been down a whole lot of alleys and it's a small town) -
Famous pittie owners include: Thomas Edison, Teddy Roosevelt, Fred Astaire, and Jack Dempsey. Oh, cant forget our good friend DMX.
cant forgot good ole Big Boi either
and i can't belive that Aussie was just outside your fence American.. he's such a beauty!! :) g lad he found a new forever home!
indeed an old thread but i never commented on this  It never dawned on me until a few months ago that this dog actually belonged to some people a block away..but as far as I am concerned I am glad he didnt get back to them..he was left outside with their other dog 24/7 and not to mention i put up flyers and they never called so i guess they didnt want him back too bad....i'm glad he got adopted through the rescue :D i never realized it was their dog though until i was driving down their alley one day and i only saw their other dog( a GSD) flying at the fence and i didnt see their red and white aussie..it then occured to me that frankie was their dog

I'd call the police and make a complaint about the dog running loose AND being barking at night keeping you up..she'll get a warning at first and then if it happens again she'll get a fine..or she might just get a straight up fine..but around here you first get a warning and then a fine...i know because my neighbor is a lunatic and mains un-true complains about our dogs all the time cause he's a fricken lunatic
Hel-LO, it's a forum. As long as people are following The Rules which dictate common sense and courtesy, I would hate to see other restrictions applied.
exactly
Sad, but a little misleading though. Pups don’t stay long in Animal shelters, in my area anyway. They usually get adopted for 2-4 x the normal adoption fees after a fierce bidding war. I know several people that after being out bided several times, they gave up on finding a pup at the shelter and came to me to buy a pure bred one with AKC reg for less then the final price they got up to at the shelter. With adults however, that is a different story.
i find that rather sickening that a shelter would let a puppy go to the highest bidder. yes puppies do get adopted faster than adults but the fact is is that many many more puppies are still dying. here at my shelter i see puppies all the time that dont get adopted and are euthanized

the biggest flaw i have found in all of these find the pit bull games is that they have a "pit bull" and they also have an Am Staff wich are essentially the same breed..and on all of the games i have seen(except one) the "pit bull" is essentially Am Staff looking. i have yet to see a find the pit bull game with a true APBT..except one..but he's a puppy in the picture so people essentially say he is mixed

dog a groomer table set up thing.. attach a collar around her neck and make her stand and make it so she cant lay down or anything.. if she tries to sit down...attack a leash around her waste and do the same thing so it wont allow her to sit down..
