I agree with K. Why did you decide to breed your great dane?
-
Texas does not have specific puppy lemon law legislation. You may be able to find some other laws in Texas that could relate to the sale of dogs. You might want to talk to a lawyer to find out for sure.

I haven't been backpacking with Buck but we used to go with Kody. All Courtnek's suggestions were good. If you really want to have cell service you need GPS as most backpacking areas are too far out to get reception. You need EXCEPTIONAL recall if you're going backpacking and you want Coal offleash while you are hiking. You have to be able to call him back if he sees a bear or other dangerous animal. Also make sure he can handle sleeping in a tent. Some dogs don't like it.

sounds like maybe there is some dementia going on there. :-? I don't know how 1 person could accumulate that many dogs and birds either. That house must have been LOUD! :o

I pet sit a lot of people's pets when they go away. It's a lot easier on the dog for them to stay in their own home IMO. Do you have any other friends who would walk him daily when you are gone? Or perhaps if you paid your friend and stressed that he needs to be walked consistently? I would try and keep him in your home if possible. Or could you have your friend stay with him and hire a dog walker to walk him during the day while your friend is at work? That way he gets to go outside when your friend can't be there and you KNOW he is getting walked.

Wow she's beautiful! You're very lucky to have her in your family :-)

she had the chance to escape...and came back

She knows where she belongs :-) Buck is part hound and he has a teriffic recall. Maybe it's the lab part though? -
What dog related items do you keep in your car?
kendalyn replied to Horsefeathers!'s topic in Everything about dogs
Wow, I'm pretty sparsley equipped compared to you guys! :) I keep a stash of poo bags, a leash, some treats and one of those sticky rollers for getting dog hair off. I wipe down my entire car once a week and if I'm going somewhere fancy I can get the dog hair off before I get out of the car. -
I knew someone who had a dog named "letsgo"! He always wanted to go so they named him letsgo
-
Awesome! Good for you and Coal :-)
-
I'm so sorry  I'm sure Clyde appreciated you being there for him. You did everything you could and I bet he had a wonderful life.

Congratulations! :D

There is no way that dog is a *insert breed here*

I don't see Shar-Pei OR Beagle in this dog! Mona Dog Shar Pei,Beagle Mix Size: Medium Age: Young Sex: Female I.D: Notes: Mona is a 2 year old Shar-Pei and Beagle Mix. She was found under a corn crib, then turned over to local animal control where it was discovered that she was pregnant. Mona is a very sweet, but timid girl, who deserves a loving home. She has since had her litter of puppies, who are now about 3 weeks old. Once her puppies are old enough to find homes of their own, won't you consider giving this sweet girl one? Thank you for considering a PRN rescue dog. http://www.petfinder.com/pet.cgi?action=2&pet=1729375&adTarget=468doggeneral&SessionID=405adb0636c5a2b7-app2&display=&preview=0&row=25&tmpl= -

I don't see the chow part in this one: Zia Dog Chow Chow Mix Size: Large Age: Adult Sex: Female I.D: Notes: Zia is a 3 year old Chow mix. She has had a very rough beginning in her life. Zia ended up at local animal control pregnant and heart worm positive. All of her puppies have been placed, she has been treated, and is now heart worm negative. Zia is a wonderfully, friendly, "wiggle-butt" with people, however, other dogs and cats are an unknown as she was kept isolated during her treatment. Zia would absolutely love a home of her own. Won't you make it yours? Thank you for considering a PRN rescue dog. The list is stupid. Someone could be bitten by any breed of dog. Why would he suggest a list to someone?? Does he only deal with bites from these breeds? That doesn't make any sense. :x It's only going to make public opinion about those dogs worse.

Anyone want a deaf aussie? he's comes trained and all..ugh!
kendalyn replied to a topic in Everything about dogs
yuck, that's not a nice thing to come home to :-? Is he feeling any better? -
Almost everybody's pros include the word smart or intelligent!

Some people deserve to be bitten
kendalyn replied to Horsefeathers!'s topic in Everything about dogs
That guy sucks. I hope your vet can find a good reason to fire him. :x I would think that the remarks supporting cruelty to animals would be enough...
Boy, I'll beat you to sleep and then beat you for sleeping.
This did make me laugh though  -
I don't like asking visitors to help me train my dog unless I KNOW they don't mind. It makes a lot of people uncomfortable. I would keep Coal on a leash and have him sit before you open the door. Let the visitors pet him, but don't let him jump. I would keep him on the leash until you are sure he's going to be calm when you let him off. :-)

Pros and Cons to Buck's mix (whatever it really is) maybe a Lab/Pointer mix Pros: Happy, Looooves to learn new things, trainable, trusts and loves people even strangers, good with kids, very sweet and loves to cuddle, does not have an independant wandering bone in his body Cons: Can be stubborn, does NOT like the water, finds any dead thing anywhere near the house and carries it around, kills mice and drops them on the doorstep for me to find, sheds a lot, he has a gentle soul and his feelings can get hurt easily.
-
Yes, I would take him to the vet if he can't go soon. Or you could call the vet and see if you could give him anything to help him go. Let us know how it goes!
Up North it has been 3 years since a long time. WHY? It is the exact same shot.
IT IS!?!? Why did I have to pay more for the 3 year shot? Does anyone else pay more for the 3 year shot?

That is NOT fair!! We need details! :)

Maybe some of the tips in this thread can help? http://forum.dogomania.com/viewtopic.php?t=11812

A tired dog is a good dog... You could start some no barking training also. It might be hard to enfoce once you go back to school though.
