Hey TDG, what are your opinions about Royal Canin? I've done a lot of searching about trying to find a good complete food and Royal Canin seems to be about the best I can find, because we don't have a good variety here in the UK. I am feeding Kes the Royal Canin medium dog Junior and she loves it but I would be very interested to know your views as you are well up on dog nutrition and feeding  .

I'm going in 2 hours to see puppies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 :D :P

First of all sorry for not getting the photos up! I uploaded all 200 and am sorting through them now. Things have been hectic here trying to get this pup sorted in time and calling the US embassy etc. :o Anyhow I'm going to see a litter of pups tomorrow night who are ISDS registered already and are vaccinated with their first vacc which shows they are well looked after. The farmer who has them is a name well known in sheepdog trials but as I'm not in that scene I only know of him. I'm just a wee bit excited lol! Well if you call bouncing off the walls a "wee" bit. :D :multi: I have an appointment booked also with the American embassy and the earliest date they could give was the 2nd June and the visa takes 5-7 working days to get through so with paws crossed and a little luck I should make it out by june before the pilots passes are stopped for high summer. I also got definite confirmation that the puppy doesn't have to be vaccinated for rabies because the uk is a rabies free zone so thats great news too and I can get her done when I get to Texas. :D

the litter that I was interested are all gone unfortunately and the pups aren't even 6 weeks yet but word got around fast it seems. I have to call the ISDS (international sheepdog society ) tomorrow and get some names of registered litters. I'm sooo excited now!!!. The crate is set up downstairs and her lead and toys are sitting beside it! It makes it seem more real :D

I can't get a straight answer on this :o Each vet is telling me different from what i gathered from calling around today. I have to call Defra in the morning and get a proper answer and see if she has to get rabies vaccs and at what age cos some are saying no she doesn't until she gets to america because the uk is a rabies free zone. :-?

lots of prayers to Penny. Shannon you are right in what you know about the kidneys. *hugs*

Does anyone know what is the earliest age that a puppy can get her rabies vaccinations? also is it just one or is it a course. I've never had a dog vaccinated for rabies so I admit that I'm not really well up on the programme! Have any of your dogs suffered ill effects? Thanks in advance :D

I would think Thylacine, but the pics are a bit unclear so hard to make judgement.

thats great news that Jesse is back home. Lots of hugs for him :D
Anyway I should probably go soon, theres a tornado watch.... heh, Kat, what great weather for your visit, eh?
The weather here was so crazy last night that we lost power. Today we did Dallas Fort worth zoo and when we were leaving it got real dark and the sky is very dodgy looking. A tornado would be mad to see but then if it was so bad I couldn't fly home on friday :D

Carol *hugs to you*. Just be with Jesse and let him know that you are there for him. Lots of positive thoughts going across to you all.

is this a seizure???? HELP!!!! :(
imported_Kat replied to Beautiful Border Collie's topic in Everything about dogs
It certainly sounds like a seizure and order collies are very susceptible to suffering from epilepsy, especially merles and reds. You would be best to let your vet check him over just in case its anything more serious but it could just be an isolated incident that may never happen again, just like DO and HF said. Neutering will reduce the hormone levels in his body and may help to be a line of defence in preventing further seizures. Chemical messenger (neurotransmitter) imbalances are responsible for seizures and if the homonal levels are at a steadier level this may help. Good luck and hopefully the vet will have good news for Casey  -
arghh it wouldn't let me post more than a few lines. Just wanted to add to Rowie- those wee lines are deficiency in zink (i know its spelt with a c at the end but it wont let me post that word!) :o

Great news about the polyp being benign! :D I hope Gladis is feeling better soon. I honestly haven't heard of colour changes in nails before but as Rowie says it could be her nails growing quicker?
-
I hope that Pooh Bear gets his surgery over him in the very near future
-
I have to be honest and say that Meg has never shown any form of aggression or dominant behaviour towards me. Zoe would be quicker to tell you a warning when shes fed up with being groomed and will usually growl low.
-
The guy called me last night and the two chocs are both dogs, so I'll have to scout about a bit more as its a bitch that I want
-
Its so great to hear they are all so happy! :D
-
Sod that vet! Great solution to the problem  Laurel will compensate a lot I would say by using her nose

Terrible news from the vet on Pooh Bear
imported_Kat replied to JackieMaya's topic in Veterinary information
that super news about Pooh bears foster Mum wanting to help out. Paws are crossed. I think this rough patch will just make your bond stronger with Mr Bear  -
I'm actually very glad that I heard straight from the horses mouth about them being into the pet shop. It didn't hurt me , it just bemused me I guess. They are just really being very petty right now, but I hate things going on behind my back so I am very glad that I have some true friends to tell me.
