Hysterical! Nimo, my Siamese kitty, was just STARING at the screen while it played! I would LOVE to do freestyle with Macy, but I'm not that patient or that creative -- and I'm afraid I'd step on her!

I'm crying, too! Poor doll...I can't imagine what kind of heartless poeple could do this.

Wow! That workingpitbull.com site is awesome -- thanks for posting! I did disagree with some of her info on choosing a breeder, but perhaps she was only talking about pit breeders. (She said that no good breeder breeds more often than one litter every couple of years, and that she didn't have words bad enough to say about people who had more than one litter at once. I would say that definitely doesn't apply to breeds like Maltese, which only have one to four pups per litter!)

I went to a dog show once, to help out Macy's breeder. She is a very nice woman, and everyone she introduced me to was very friendly to me, but on the whole I found people very snooty and short.

K, I wish that Americans were as advanced in their thinking about pets as Europeans are! I don't know if this is true, but one of my English friends told me that in England, NO one just leaves their dogs out in the back yard...it's just not done. I thought that was amazing.

Too cute! Things I think Macy says: "I love you" (or "I love Daddy") "I'm scared of that big dog" "I don't like that black kitty" (Pawnee, who whacks her occasionally) "I love my Greenies" "Aren't I cute?" -- she just gets this little look sometimes, and you KNOW she knows how adorable she is!

You may want to talk to her breeder...she may have more experience with this than most of us!

We had one in our rescue group once. She was a lovely dog, and very sweet.

I agree with the others...this breeder does seem a little less concerned than she ought to be. Who recommended her to you -- the AKC itself or a breed club? We originally wanted a shih tzu, but I just could not find a breeder that satisfied me...it seems like everyone and his brother is breeding them. They are dear little dogs, though.

Crate training doesn't necessarily teach the dog not to go in the house. That's your job :) Crate training helps by giving your puppy somewhere he feels safe, and by giving YOU a chance to relax for five seconds without worrying whether your puppy is pottying somewhere he shouldn't! When you take your puppy outside and he potties, give him TONS of praise. Act like he just won the Nobel Prize! :) If he goes inside, scold him (don't scream or hit him) ONLY if you catch him in the act. If you found the "mistake" after he did it, don't say anything to him; just clean it up without comment.

Eowyn is such a pretty name! I want to name our first daughter that, but my fiance disagrees heartily! Macy seems interested when she hears barking sounds, but that's about it.

We have fostered two dogs in the past; we don't anymore, because it stresses out our kitties too much, especially my neurotic little Nimo.

Macy likes cat toys the best -- especially the furry mice! Unfortunately, they don't last long :(
