Those declawing pics are horrible! Those poor kitties. :( I have a friend who's cat is declawed, and she is fine, although I wouldn't take the risk. Niether of our cats are declawed. If u get your kitty a scratching post she should be fine. :) Goodluck!

Wow, that's really cool Sanvean! :D

Abby has those also, I like to call them "zoomies" Usually it's a puppy thing that they will grow out of, although Abby is almost three years old and she still has them sometimes. For some dogs these "zoomies" are a way of try to get more attention. So maybe u should try ignoring the zoomies, and praising her when she is sitting quietly. she should come to know that calmness=praise. Hope that helps some, it's never been a problem with Abby so I can't offer u much more advice. Goodluck!!!!!! :D :D :D
just found out that the lady had apparently been watching some show, or reading some article
I know what show.... she was prabably watching the "Today" show. They did a report on Labradoodles, not mentioning how most breeders are in for the money or how the "breed" is not AKC or (as far as I know) not UKC recognized. All they basically said was "Labradoodles are the newest fad so go out and get one, or breed some if u want since there aren't enough, they are hypoallergenic and are great pets, Go out and get yours today"!!!!!!!!!!!!!! F****** b******s is all I have to say about people like that... :chainsaw1: :wallbash: :bad-words:
they have boots to wear so they don't get salt in their paws, they all have many bandannas, they also have hiking boots to protect their feet in the woods,
Guess I'm a horrible owner to, I dress Abby up all the time, geez I must be torturing the poor thing. I agree with Malamum, some people just like to complain. I think your vests are really nice, and I'm considering getting one. Where can I find some? :)

Ugh- I've seen this sight before, I think there are some people trying to shut her down(let's hope) What a disgusting person- :x :(
I love how whenever most of us see a certain breed we think of the dogo member(s) who have/want that breed. I for instance cannot see a Saint without thinking of K, or a Ridgeback without think of Rosebud ( and now elsa) etc.
Very true Hillside! :D

So, r u gonna do it???? HUH, HUH????????????? :drinking: :D :D :D :D

Do u get Dogfancy mag? Cause the breed profile this month is the Maltese! The minute I saw it I thought of u, I haven't read the article yet, but the pics are real cute! :D Anyone else get it? What u think of it if u do? I'm just curios to see people's opinions... :D

Flexi leads - dangerous? or just freak accidents?
abker17 replied to imported_Cassie's topic in Everything about dogs
I do have a flexi for Kodi, and am using it at the moment, because I'm having problems with his recall and can't always let him off the lead. He is fine in an empty park, or if he is with other dogs that he knows

but if he is alone and spots another dog, no matter how far away, he will bolt, and nothing I do or shout will get him to stop.
Same with Abby. I use a nylon lead to walk to the park, then put on her flexi while we're there. I let Abby off leash in the fenced areas, but I can't let her off leash outside fenced areas. If she saw another dog she to would bolt, but she's sometimes dog aggressive. So I never know if when approached by another dog, Abby will want to fight or play. It just varies with her, and it's very nerve racking. :x -
RIP Max...

Trust me on this one Aussielover- these puppies were from puppy mills. I know that if given the choice between buying a couple cheap dogs from the mill, or buying some very exspensive pups from a breeder, these people woulda chosen the mill. People like that don't care about the pups, it all about $$$$

Aw, poor squirrel. :( Abby's done it to, she got a rabbit once. I thnk the rabbit was already hurt, it was just sitting there when Abby saw it. She came over to it and stared at it for a second then pounced on it. I think she broke it's neck. :( :( :( I got really upset over it, but she was just being a dog. :-? If put in Jackie's position I know Abby would of done the same thing...

Agility is definatly a possibility! Any breed can do it. It's lots of fun, usually the dogs really like it and catch on fast. I do agility with Abby, and it's really helped to strengthen my bond with her. I hope to eventually compete! :D I say go for it, u can sign up for a class near u, although some classes only take dogs over a certain age. If u need any info on how agility works, just ask, I've done lots of research on the subject. Here's a web page to get u started: www.dog-play.com/index.shtml This site had some info on agility, plus loads of other things that u can do with your dog! Here's another one that I like, all about agility: www.dogpatch.org/agility/ Good luck on whatever u decide to do! :D
Which pet shop was it?
A small family owned pet shop called Bob's Pet Shop. They also sold kittens, ferrets, rabbits guinea(sp?) pigs, feed mice, snakes, lizards, they sold just about every kinda animal that u could own.... :-?

I know that there are some people that show dogs on this site, and I'd like your help. Although I'm focusing mainly on agility right now, I'd like to learn more about the world of dog showing. I hope to show Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers when I get older, and at this point in time I know virtually NOTHING about how showing a dog works. I got a book from the library, but it read like an enclyclopedia and I couldn't understand it at all. So if anybody can give me some info or web sites, recomend any books... anything should help! Thanks!!!! :D :D :D

A local pet shop in my city that sold puppies has gone out of business!!!! :B-fly: The pet shop sold puppies for prices of $500 and up(way up) the puppies were dirty, and (although I don't have proof) prabably came from puppy mills (I live near Pensylvania(sp?), a big puppy mill place :( ) So that's one pet store down one to go! There is one still in business, that again sells puppies for outragous prices, including Cockapoo pups and other "poo" "breeds" :x

I have not ever been bitten by a dog on purpose, but once when I was breaking up a dog fight my hand got in between the dogs and one of them got my finger. It wasn't a bad bite, but it did hurt a lot. :x

Thanks for all the info and well wishes everyone! We are staying at a camp site that has woods all around, and will be doing some hiking. Abby has been hiking before, so it's not new to her. I've already gotten some of the things mentioned, but I'll make sure to stock up on the rest. Where should she sleep? We are bringing my dad's pick up, and some tents. I just want her to be safe and comfortable. :) Thanks again! :D :D :D

For my birthday, I'm going camping this weekend and am bringing Abby with me. Believe it or not, this is my first time camping, even though I live in a valley surronded by mountains! :o I've wanted to for awhile now, and so we finally are going! :D I wanted to ask what things I should bring for Abby. I already got her current records from the vet, and the place where we are camping allows dogs. So, other than this, what should I bring? :) Also any web pages on the subject would be of help too! :)
