1. Sorry, I just had to laugh when I read this:
I don't have a carrier for dongwa, so I hope he does alright on the short ride.
My sister took her first kitten to the vet riding loose in her car years ago! That little kitten rode the whole way on her shoulders trying to cling to her head with his claws! I wish you much luck and hope Dongwa has better car manners!
2. Hooray! It's been about nine days since Jerry's injections for heartworms. Over this period he has only thrown up once and been mildly lethargic on two occasions. His personality is really beginning to come out as he begins to feel better and better! He is wanting to play now.... , but this is still something he should not do just yet. He is excellent on the lead for his "walkies" and is a real snuggle-bug in the mornings and evenings. :iloveyou: He's also a "leaner". I am thinking he will be absolutely fine! Maybe today I can snap some pictures and post them so you guys can see what he is looking like now. :D Thanks so much for all your well-wishes and congratulations on Jerry's arrival!
3. Blossom is one VERY LUCKY girl! The right people found her! People who work in rescue are
4. You were strong, and you did the right thing for "Sheba" and her owners. If Holly was happy to see them, she must have had a good home with them. I hope they do get her spayed.....and don't leave her with the neighbor again! Perhaps you could be her dog sitter if her owners have to go on a trip again! :D
5. Beta lives on in your memories and there is no more fitting tribute to a wonderful girl! She happily waits for you at the Bridge. :D
6. Jerry says....... :dog: Thank you!!!! :dog:
7. Thanks, K! :D :D Right back at you for poor mister Snoop as well!!! :D
8. It's been about a day and a half since Jerry had his second series of heartworm shots; here's the latest. Happily, aside from the pain at the injection site the first evening home, Jerry has shown no side effects! He is eating and drinking normally and able to take care of his outside business at the end of his lead  , thank goodness! My husband takes care of that chore! :D We may get lucky and he may not have a lot of problems, or it may take several days for the nasty worms to start breaking up before he has symptoms. I am keeping my fingers crossed that his recovery remains uneventful. :D
9. Courtnek - So sorry about missing this neat dog. :( Maybe you should go there and see who is there? Is this a possibility? That way you can't get disappointed.
10. Fantastic news! :D CONGRATULATIONS MYSTIC AND MOM! :multi:
11. :o :o :o You poor thing! I'm sorry everything is hitting at once..... Things will sort themselves out. You and your husband are good people to help a friend in crisis. Cody will improve.... Hang in there! :D
12. It sounds to me like you handled the situation in the best way possible. The "visitor" sounds like a total jerk. I would have been seething too! :x You got Free inside safely away from this psycho, and your boyfriend called him on his actions later. As decent human beings and responsible pet owners you guys did what was correct. If the lying jerk comes by again and does ANYTHING out of line, don't you have the right to speak to your tenant and ban this guy from your property?
13. Good Luck, Courtnek! Hope this handsome guy is available and works out with Freebee! :D
14. Sweet Dreams, Sherri! Rest easy.... :lilangel:
15. Yes, our guys always get their shots. :) Although, I have been thinking of discussing this with our new vet. Perhaps he has some new ideas about the need for annual vaccines..... Some of the literature out there is interesting... :-?
16. Awesome photographs, Kiger! You must have had a lovely trip........Welcome back! :D
17. I'll bet you didn't know you had a bird dog, did you? Was she proud of herself? Poor little birdie.....
18. She is beautiful. Love her natural eye patch!
19. Could be! It pays to have a cold, I guess!
20. Thanks for the update! I was wondering how it would go. :D
21. Quentin was on one of the morning news shows this weekend. He is a cool looking dog - great big bat ears. Calmly looking around while the rescue man was talking to the anchor. He said Quentin appears to be in good health aside from a bit of kennel cough.....NO WONDER he's got a cough after sucking in carbon monoxide! When the shelter employee opened the gas chamber there he was, standing atop the other dogs wagging his tail! He was not ready to be an angel just yet! Go Quentin! :B-fly: He deserves to live with a family who will give him a forever home! Maybe his miracle will bring the horrors of gassing dogs to the forefront of people's minds in Missouri! We can only hope!
22. Lovely photo, RNP! Thanks for posting a bit of good news..... :D You are so right! Good owners, good breeding, and good training & socialization - makes for wonderful companion dogs every time. :D

Sad story

So if this version of events is true, once again police have killed a dog for NO GOOD REASON. Why am I not surprised...? :-? How hard would it have been to get the facts straight before acting? I still think it was negligence and ignorance on the part of the parents of this poor baby.
24. Ben is chipped! Wasn't very expensive at all.

Sad story

It's dreadful that a two week old child paid for his parents negligence and ignorance with his life. Why on earth would you even leave a two week old infant in a baby swing unattended? It only would have taken a second to take the baby with her to answer the door! And to leave this infant with a dog who has not even had the chance at two weeks to figure out the new arrival's place in the order of the household? If the swing was a wind-up swing, couldn't the motion of the swing have triggered some reaction from the dog? And then when baby got scared, it's cries added to the stimulus. Just awful! I feel sickened...poor innocent child!
