The pup is a real cutie! I'm with Courtnek here. I'd like to know as well. Is the deafness a fault of the breeding? I was wondering why any breeder would deliberately take the chance of deaf pups when they plan their litters? Or is it just an accident? I am curious about the circumstances of the deafness. Does anyone have the explanation? :confused1:

Just a quick post to let you know that my Jerry-boy is HEARTWORM FREE! :smilecolros: His treatment went wonderfully and his blood work this morning showed no signs of worms in his system. We are all pleased as punch with this great news. So now he can start on his year round heartworm preventative! I think I'll take him round to the Humane Society where we adopted him and show him off! He is a changed rottie! Spoiled too....just a little. But he is always a gentleman at the vets. He has got them fooled! :D

It sounds very good......we will all keep our fingers and paws crossed for a good outcome for Charlie. He is such a looker!

Ben does not play with toys....he pretends to be too dignified for that type of activity. Once in a great while he will find a stick outside and flip it around and then munch it in half, discarding the bits. Jerry enjoys balls and tug toys. Plays tug of war with himself and shakes the tug toy around so hard he bops himself in the head. :roll: Doesn't seem to have a preference yet for one particular toy although one might be discovered after he has been with us longer!

It is GOOD to be proud of your independent little furkid!! :D :D After all, isn't it every mom's job to be proud of her child? :wink: And it's even better when you have a great reason to be proud of how your child handles herself! :kciuki: Way to go, Hippo!

Don't worry! Your baby will be back before you know it! :D

Poor fella......That would be scary. :o Glad he is going to be okay! :D I keep the kibble in a huge rubbermaid container in our laundry room. The boys can't get the snap-on lid off! :D They don't have access to the room at all either so we could keep it in its bag...if it weren't for small rodent visitors here in the fall and winter that we keep fighting!!!
