He does custom stuff, Rosebud. You send him a picture of your dog and he'll make whatever you want.

I only ordered this a couple days ago and was really surprised to get it already. It's so cute. Here are all the other breeds he does: http://www.mpwoodcarver.com/avail__breeds.htm

Cool looking dog!

Hey, now I can say that my dog is so good even his sh*t doesn't stink.

Here's a really good site that has links to a lot of the top food companies. Maybe you can find someone on it that ships to ME: http://home.attbi.com/~mstraus/dogfeeding.html

Well, after 24 hours on raw I have seen a 95% improvement. It remains to be seen whether he will stay good, but wow! And I always thought the BARF people were kidding, but no odor - not that I'm sticking my nose in it, but his were always so stanky you could smell them from several feet away. Okay, enough about poop. :D

Thanks. The vet described it more as Irritable Bowel Syndrome and that it wasn't as big a deal. Also, to look at Kato you would never think there was anything wrong with him. He doesn't have any of the other symptoms so I'm not really sure what he's got. He was fine at lunch. He didn't pass anything, but at least I know he doesn't have diarrhea today.
-
Yep, I'm sure. I had to wipe it up. There was a bit more last night that came out with the last of the kibble, but he's been okay since then even though he got a raw duck patty last night. I'm going home in a bit to walk him and see if he's still doing okay.

Thanks, that is scary! I forwarded the info to my friend. I hope this isn't some new disease.

No I wasn't at that show. I showed against that dog a few months ago. Poor little girl. :( The timing of that e-mail just couldn't have been worse. I knew that they couldn't be related but it freaked me out anyway. Well, the vet suggested BARF, so I drove 60 miles to find a place that sold Steve's. Sheesh, I live in one of the biggest cities on the East Coast and I can find 2 places that sell frozen food - one of which is over an hour away. I'm going to have to start making my own if this works because this stuff is expensive! :(

Just got back from the vet. When I came home at lunch today to take Kato out for a walk he had a bloody poop and then proceded to squeeze out a couple drops of pure blood. Freaked me out good. After a bunch of tests, they couldn't find anything wrong with him at all. The vet even stuck a finger up there and no blood was on his glove. Poor dog got violated for nothing. He might have irritable bowel syndrome, or it might be the change in food - or it might be an early stage of something else. All I can do is watch him. They did suggest that BARF might help if it's IBS - amazingly a vet who doesn't push Science Diet - but I wouldn't know where to start and he really doesn't like chewing on real bones much.

I saw your post on Furkids about the puppy that died suddenly after neutering and was wondering what the test results finally showed. My friend's dog came back from a show with diarrhea and she was dead by evening. Autopsy showed lots of blood in her intestines, but nothing else. It sounds a lot like the case you had so I'd like to pass on any info to her.

Ugh. I've seen pureed liver "popsicles" too.

The Bustercube is really cool. You fill it with little treats or kibble, and it randomly drops them as the dog rolls it around - keeps them entertained for quite a while. They sell them just about everywhere. Here's a link: http://www.bustercube.com/

I'm going to try that. Too bad I just bought a whole bunch of cans. I did end up buying a new bag of Canidae last night so I'll see what happens with that. Since he won't poop in the backyard - or anywhere he plays - anymore, I guess I don't have to worry about him eating it. He likes it as much as the Chicken Soup stuff, and I think it is the better food anyway.

HELP!!! Cracked a nail!! (the vain's hanging out)
Kiger replied to Crested's topic in Veterinary information
Ben has understood that he has to leave the bandade alone.
Ah yes. So did Kato... until I left. When I came back it was in itty bitty pieces and stuck to everything but his foot. Bad bad dog. -
How can I keep the bandade on him?!
You can't really. If he really needs to keep it bandaged, get ready to have a cone dog. -
Possibly, but I really hate having to pickup pancakes. I've never had a dog that did this, so if it's normal I'd like to know. Here's the 3 foods. The only thing that jumps out is apple (Canidae didn't produce pancakes): Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul-Adult Formula Protein: 24.00 % Fat: 14.00 % -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chicken turkey chicken meal turkey meal whole grain brown rice whole grain white rice oatmeal potatoes cracked pearled barley millet chicken fat (preserved with mixed tocopherols) duck salmon egg product flaxseed natural chicken flavor kelp potassium chloride salt choline chloride chicory root extract carrots peas apples dried skim milk cranberry powder rosemary extract parsley flake. I've had the same problem with Kato since he was a puppy. He has normal poops in the morning, and mushy little cowpies in the evening. I've tried Canidae (he ate it again when it came out the other end, but otherwise he was fine on it), Wellness, and right now he's on the Chicken Soup dog food. He gets a couple spoonfuls of Wellness canned in the morning, mixed with Supermix-5 supplement, but he gets dry the rest of the time. He's been wormed. I've thought about trying raw, but he won't chew on bones. I did try Wysong Archtype (the freezedried raw food) for awhile, but it's too expensive and doesn't last long - plus, same problem. Pumpkin clears it up, but I don't want to have to feed pumpkin all the time. Anyone else had this problem or have any ideas? He looks great, but this can't be good for him.

I would see a vet if it smells funky. They will put a powder in her ear that makes the hair easy to pull out. It doesn't really bother them too much. I used to be a vet tech and cleaned many a dog ear. Also, if she goes to a groomer they may have inadvertently gotten hair down her ear. My vet found a ton of packed hair way down the ear canal of my schnauzer.

You can sprinkle Accent on his food. It's a whole lot cheaper then For-bid and Distaste and it's the same thing really. The other one I've heard of using is McCormick Meat Tenderizer. Kato started eating poop while he was on Canidae. I switched foods and he stopped instantly. I guess Canidae was so good he had to taste it twice. :o

I work, so yep I leave 'em alone for that long. He's in his x-pen for 4 hours (he keeps chewing woodwork and lost his house priviledges again  ). I let him out at lunch, and then he goes back in again for another 3 until my husband gets home. He doesn't mind it and just sleeps. He's never been a real dependent dog though. He likes to be around you, but if he can't he just deals with it.

I'm ready to take up a collection and ship you some Advantix and tick spray that works. :o
