Rowie is almost the same, as she is an outside dog temporarily, she finds all kinds of things to roll in, eat( :o) or dig around in. She killed a pigeon the other day ( :o ) and then kept the dead body for a couple of days, and I can tell you the stench was horrible! :-? So I'm forced to give her showers(no shampoo) or a really good brushing, or use a damp towel to clean her up. I've heard of powder shampoos(don't get them here :x ) that you can use, don't know if it's any good. Maybe you can use a damp towel? Or brush her really, really thouroughly(sp?)? Other than that I can't help, I'm sorry... Good Luck, and give her a kissy from me please? She has the cutest little roley poley face in the world!

I agree with Pei! Very unkind indeed! Although I agree a dog like that shouldn't be put up for adoption, which is why Hazel had to be PTS  but I tried for three years to help that dog, and nothing worked. At least Zebra is TRYING!  :drinking:
I AGREE WITH PEI AND HAZEL
Me too! Please don't tell me the trolls are back! :-? Star, I really understand what you are feeling right now, after reading your post I imagined Rowie growling at me and I was about ready to cry! I can really imagine your pain and frustration... I agree with everything RoseBud and Courtnek said... :D I don't have anything else to say, sorry. Other then comfort, I don't have anything, feel free to PM me if you need some comforting! :D

This is the way he repays his faithful friend? I don't remember INKY cuz I never heard of him before. Poor Inky! He helped his owner lead a normal life, guided him not only through hallways and roads, but through his problems in life too! Here's a poem I made up for Inky(I dunno why, but today I'm into making poems!) Inky Your life seemed so perfect You had no troubles or worries And your owner loved you some! You lead him not only through crowded hallways and roads but through his problems, through his life. When suddenly one day He took all that away Gone was your happy life Gone where the days you had fun In came cruelty and pain Torture and abuse And suddenly all was black As black as your coat and name And to the rainbow bridge you went Never fully understanding why you hadto suffer the pain Why your owner betray you After you lead him so happily Through his life. Rest In Peace Inky, you angel!

Tick-o-Mania! Heat, and my grandfather...
Rowie-the-Pooh replied to Rowie-the-Pooh's topic in Everything about dogs
Thank You all so much! :D You have all been so supportive, I knew I could come to Dogomania for help! Rowie's been getting worse. She's started jumping in the pool(only the steps). She has plenty of shade(Our garden is our own little forest :o ) and we change her water every 2 hours, to make sure its clean, cold, and there is no drool in it! :o Also, we started adding some warm water to her kibble, cuz it dry, and might get her too thirsty. I also bought a little tub kinda thing, and placed some cold, cold water in it. Rowie loves just laying there and doing nothing! We change that 2 times a day. I'm also giving her a kinda run down with water more frequently. And the sprinklers are on every day at 6 in the evening, she enjoys that! :D But the ticks! :x Da*n those little buggers! It's getting really bad, thanks Rosebud for the website! I'm going to order it and spray some in the yard! It sounds really good. :D The problem is it will take some time for it to get here :-? I'm going to the vets later today, and get some more "Anti-Tick" stuff :-? There's a really good place down in Manama(the capital city of Bahrain) that I haven't checked out yet. I'm doing all I can for my Rowie Pooh, I'm just really scared she might be so covered in ticks that there might be nothing to do! :o Like it might be too late or something.. THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR SUPPORT! LOVE Y'ALL! -
Tick-o-Mania! Heat, and my grandfather...
Rowie-the-Pooh replied to Rowie-the-Pooh's topic in Everything about dogs
Ohh Thank You Star! :D You sure are a star! Your post made me feel so much better! I'm on the internet now searching for some stuff...I told my mther about keeping the grass short(Although it already is!) but we're gonna cut it abit shorter just in case! :D Thanks So much Star! I feel so much better! -
Awwwwwwwwwwwww  Good Zebra! I'm sure you must be PROUD! :D I was soo proud when Rowie stopped nipping! :D I know how you feel! What a good doggie! :D

:o Rowie is covered, and I mean covered in ticks! :o Let me begin from the begining..(get ready for an essay! ) Way back in Febuary, my grandfather had a stroke. He fell down and nearly broke his leg. He was rushed to the hospital, and then placed in the "Special Needs" section(or something like that). My mother was devestated, altough her father was never around for her much, was a drunk, and well, not a great father, she still cared for him. She was there 24/7. He lost most of his memory, he needed several operations, and his legs where paralyesed.(I think, but now thier OK)... Now you might be thinking " what the h*ll does this hasto do with ticks? :o" let me finish  So my grandpa was sent away to h*ll knows where, to have yet another operation on his leg, and to have special care. After a month, he returned to us. Now, he lives with us, he's staying for a month, and then he's going to live at my uncles house(we're waiting for him to build an extra room in the house). Meanwhile, Rowie has been an outside dog! (Shock eh? :o) The reason is, my mother is too scared that she might hurt him by mistake. Although Rowie is as gentle as a lamb when it comes to Children and Elders. My mother doesn't want to risk it. My grandfather is as weak as a new born deer, ANYTHING, and I mean ANYTHING, and it's back to the hospital, or even... :o I'v begged my mother, again, and again...but she said NO every single time. I'm devestated, Rowie thinks we're punishing her! She sits just infront of the door, begging us with her eyes to let her in. Saying sorry for whatever she did wrong! I god, I'm crying now.. Now for the other explanation.. I don't actually live in the UK  I am from the UK, my whole family is, but currently I live in Bahrain. Bahrain is an Arabic country that is (I think) 25 Kilometers from Saudi. Its a REALLY tiny island, I don't know if any of you know of it, but it's great! My fathers work brought us here, it takes us all around the world! :o I lived in the US for 2 years, then back to the UK, then to Bahrain. It seems like we're gonna stay here for some time...(Oh, and my uncle lives here too and my grandparents! :D So I don't feel to home sick or anything) SOOOO, what does all this hafto do with ticks? (I'm the wierdest girl on this forum aren't I? ) In Bahrain, the temprature goes up to 55 Celcius sometimes. Mostly its in the 30's or 40's. :o Now, its summer, and the heat is unbearable. My grandfather chose the best time to come live with us :-? Now Rowie's outide in the heat. And there is nothing I can do! To make it worse, Rowie is COVERED in ticks! :o :o They are on her muzzle, her tummy, and between her toes. Bahrain has a tick problem, but there is no danger of lyme disease or anything. I already bought Rowie a supposeldy "Tick and Flea Collar", but its not working! I don't have anything else. Here's the worst part, Bahrain has absaloutly NO dog products! Sure, we have the basics, like leads, collars, and dog food, but there are no Halters, Bitter Apple, not even a DOG BED! :o Crates, and some other stuff are REALLY rare! Its always a bother, I try to get Rowie stuff, But I can't. Taking care of a dog in Bahrain is tough! :bigcry: Now PLEASE don't bash me or anything. I'm sure your thinking "Why did she get a dog?" Well, cuz, like the rest of you, I cannot live without a dog. And Rowie loves it here!(I got her from here) She has no problems, the biggest problem for her is where she hid her chew toy! All this stress! All the pressure is building up! :o :x  I feel like a failed my Rowie.... So, what should I do? Rowie's ouside, in the heat, covered in ticks! I don't care anymore, I'm ordering from the internet! What should I get her? What should I do?? :o Am I a bad owner or what?
-
Congratulations!!! :bday: I honestly don't know how you do it!!!! I get on here as often as I can and it still seems like I'm getting nowhere!!! :-?
Me too! It came to me as a shock when I noticed I was at a 1000! :o The thing is I never came here often, cuz my mother would only let me on the internet on week ends! :x And usually Im on MSN and don't have time for Dogo! :bigcry: Then I started sneaking in, and walla! :)
