1. :-? They are back. I can't belive it, they are actually back! The ticks! They're back! They are actually, truly, really, back! Not the big ones like last time, no, these are small baby ones that are really hard to see. They are already on Rowie's ear, and on her belly. :-? I can't belive this! I took her to the vets to get her clipped and remove ALL the ticks, she's on a flea and tick collar 24/7, she has a special substance we shower her with everyday until the bottle finishes, and soon we are getting the garden sprayed for ticks and other insects. We also mowed the lawn, and today we're getting a bug zapper. So HOW on EARTH did they come back?! I've done everything! EVERYTHING I can! What are these ticks? Cockroaches in disguise? The only possible reason is that maybe the vets didn't remove EVERY SINGLE tick, so one of them laid eggs, and walla! And that maybe these new baby ticks are immune to the collar and other medications... BUT HOW ON EARTH CAN THAT POSSIBLY HAPPEN?! What am I doing wrong here? :-? Am I THAT bad a owner? :( I can't even get TICKS off my own dog! Oh those stupid ticks, I got Rowie CLIPPED! I sacrificed ALL her beautiful silky fur! PLUS she's going to the Boarding Kennels today, but I don't think I can take her because she has ticks! They might get onto the other dogs or something... What do I do now? I have nothing else, no other medication to turn to! Should I go to my Aunties this time? (For those of you who don't know about my auntie, she has some kind of tick dip that kills all the ticks on the animal) I'm really confused... All this STRESS! Not only do I have stress from these darn ticks, but also exams, due assignments, my grandfather(who is sick), summer school... Etc. :( Any ideas? Should I go to my aunties and order off the internet? If my mother sees the seriousness of this problem, I'm sure she'll alow me to order off the internet! Thanks guys, I knew I could come to you for help!
2. Those are great ideas! :D Can we do the same at HH? WHEN my scanner is fixed, or I get a Digi Cam, I will hopefully post some of Rowie's pics! :P
3. :D :D :D Wow! That was great! Very interesting!
4. It's not fair! My scanner is brocken... :(
5. Something may have "snagged" onto her skin and pulled it? Maybe somehow another dog snapped at her? But what's important now is the bald spot, take her to the vet just to make sure she's OK. If you are rubbing cream on it so it won't get infected, then you are doing the right thing! Good Luck! Keep us updated! :D
6.   Poor Sweet Hannah! R.I.P little  ! I gave Rowie the biggest hug(Ihadto go outside!) and then made sure her heartworm mediacton was upto date...poor baby!

A friend tells me who knows BCs very well that this is called a "Texas Cattle Dog." Therefore, his name is Tex. Tex is very smart and very sweet. Likes almost every dog he meets and plays good too. E-mail for an application. Urgh! I'm so tired of copying/pasting! I guess that's it for today!
10. Ok, last one! http://www.petfinder.com/pet.cgi?action=2&pet=699656&adTarget=468doggeneral&SessionID=3edb345d033066ae-app1&display=&preview=1&row=0 Austin Dog Australian Shepherd Mix Size: Large Age: Young Sex: Male I.D: Notes: This boy has both beautiful eyes (a blue eye and a brown eye) and a personality to go with it. He is very sweet and a very gentle boy. Very good with other dogs and not aggressive. Southern CA adoptions only. Please read our rescue group information below. We ask that you fill out a pre-application, which we will e-mail you. This helps us decide if the dog you are interested in would be a potential match and saves you driving a long way to see a dog that would never work in your environment. Of course, we are happy to answer specific questions without you having to fill out the application. The pound charges us about $75 per dog. Our adoption fee is usually between $150 to $300, depending upon the dog. This adoption donation includes the dog, spay or neuter surgery and most of the dog's shots, except for rabies shot which a vet must do. Dogs are usually dewormed on the adoption date and this is usually included too. This covers part of our costs to buy the dog from the pound, part of our costs to buy 100 pounds of Nutro premium dog food per day and part of our costs to run the kennel and keep the dogs alive (medical care, etc.) Basically, the small dogs support the kennel and rescue operation and the larger dogs that take longer and sometimes up to a year to get adopted here. If you choose to fill out the pre-application, kindly fill it out in Word format and return via e-mail in an attachment. We have no fax machine here. We will review it and notify you if we think the dog you are interested in would be a good pet for you or your family. This pet is: altered This guy looks like a sweetie! If I had lived near that shelter, I would have adopted him already! :D

He is friendly and likes people and other dogs. Greater Los Angeles/Orange County adoptions only. Please include your phone # when e-mailing us. 13. Forgot to add, my mom is getting a bug zapper, AND we're going to spray the whole yard for ticks! So hopefully when RooRoo returns, we'll have a tick free enviorment! :D
14. Thank you all for your replies!! :D I've been worried about her coat...some parts where cut shorter than the others, will that mean when her coat grows back, it will be uneven? Will it really be thicker? That's nice! :D I'll be watching for infections! Naked Pics? Do you really want them?! I mean, she's really beautiful, and it would be mean to let you guys see her for the first time as a naked pooch! Let's make a deal, I'll take some pics of her now, and then when her coat grows back, I'll show you a pic of her with full coat, and a pic of her naked! Ok? She's going to the Boarding Kennels tomorow! :( I'll miss my Rowie Pooh! But it's for the best...
15.

Couldn't you have given them to a friend or something? Or it just wasn't that easy? I understand your pain...
Thought about it.. Really considered it, but then thought if they see me again they wouldn't understand why I gave them up, plus none of my other friends have houses, and thats what they really need.. They need some room to play and stuff..
Again, I'm so sorry, you did the right thing by taking them to a NO KILL shelter...
Yeah It was there or the pound, and I didn't want them to be killed, for they didn't do anything wrong.. it was us couldn't provide an adequate life for them.. :-(
Also I had to have 9 doggy free years before I got Ellie because I was waiting for the time to be right so I know how hard it is to live without a dog when you yearn for one so badly......could you volunteer at the shelter ? It might make you feel better to give something back
It will be a while before we get another dog, but I do want another one another time.. Maybe after we get married, and things start to settle down.. We got the house now, now we just need to get the homely sense going on.. Sorry for jumping you like that.. I just tried to do the best thing I knew how to do, and I know its never an easy situation to do.. Ever.. But.. At the same time.. You have to think ahead.. Next time I get a dog.. Im going to do some heavy researching..
Oh, I understand... It's OK, lots of members here have done some really hard things too! It's always hard to give up a loved one...but what you did was for the best. If you ever need any support, we're here for you!
16.
       Sorry, can't help laughing... :P Rowie is a real funny dog!!
LOL! Yea, Rowie's a natural clown!
17. I'm so sorry! It must have been the hardest thing in the world... Couldn't you have given them to a friend or something? Or it just wasn't that easy? I understand your pain... :-? Again, I'm so sorry, you did the right thing by taking them to a NO KILL shelter...
18. Don't be sad, I'm sure she'll survive! She told me to tell you that she gives you a BIG kissy for thinking of her so much! :D When I first saw her with her new "haircut", she was staring at a birdie(you know Rowie ) and then when she saw me came up to me, but didn't jump or get excited as usual, no, she just came up to me with a "What did I do to deserve this?" kind of look on her face, and then walked off in the direction of the kitchen! But after that, when I went outside to play with her and "talk" to her so she won't feel too lonely, she acted normal again. With her big Golden smile! :D Ahhh, I love that dog! :D
19. :o :o :o Speechless.... (kiger that little emoticon is too funny!)
20. Thank you Horsefeathers! :D Actually I was mistaken about the collar brand. I always tend to make mistakes when reading in the dark! It was actually some kind of wierd brand, ummm, Preventage I think.. :-? Hope I spelled that right! Oh NO WAY YOU ARE GETTING PICS NOW!! No way!! Rowie is the ugliest little creature I laid eyes on! The poor baby, her head looks like an over large labs head, and her body! Don't even let me think about it! And her TAIL! Yuck! The poor baby, but she had the strength and courage to actually go and meet my mom's friends who where coming over today! All of them asked me what was wrong with Rowie! My poor baby, she looks SO pathetic!   More updates soon!
21. Ohhhhh, he's ADORABLE! I want him! Such a "I need a home" kind of face! Hopefully Freebee will get along with him! I really hope so! He's really cute! :D Good Luck!
22. Thank you all so much! :D *blush* LOL! I'm kinda blushing! I owe all this happening to you guys! Without you, where would Rowie have been? Where would I have been? I love you all! (Dunno where the kissing emoticon is! :-?) About the pics! There is NO WAY the first pics of Rowie up here will be what she looks like now, you'll just need to wait till her fur grows back, then I'll take some nice pics! After that I will post the pics of her, ahem, *naked*! I would have scanned pics of her before the "Tick Incident" but not all of them are that nice! I want a REALLY nice pic that will show Rowie's beauty! Am I just talking jibirish now? Thank you all again! Rowie-the-naked( :o)-Pooh!
23. That's too cute!! :D :D :D
24. I've put an update on "Disgusting Ticks-Go Bye Bye!" Thank you both!
25. UPDATE!! Rowie was taken to the vets today, at 8'oclock. Although I begged and begged, my mother would not allow we to stay home from school to help with Rowie.(In Bahrain Saturdays and Sundays are not holidays, while Thursdays and Fridays are...something in thier religion ) So I was worried sick at school, and actually needed to go to the nurse a couple of times! Anyway, I came back home and my heart was thumping, and my mother opened the gate for me. I asked her if everything went well, and if Rowie was fine, and if she behaved herself. She said everything went perfectly. Anyways, so I asked to see her, and if her haircut was nice, my mom said it was beautiful, but when I call Rowie what do I see? A scrawny little dog, with scabs all over her, and the most embarrassed look on her face! She looks PATHETIC!! All her beautiful fur! The fur I worked so hard on to make beautiful and silky and long! I asked why they cut her fur SO SHORT, and my mom said they needed to cut it so short because the needed to see all the ticks(since she had so much) so they cut it really short. I'm just glad that ALL THE STUPID TICKS ARE GONE! :D Phew! That's a HUGE wieght off my shoulders! And Rowie looks much better now...(not) I guess she feels better... They also gave Rowie 2 collars to wear, I'm guessing thier Tick&Flea collars... I tried to check the brand, I think it's either Advantage or Prevetic or SOMETHING like that, I couldn't see properly! :x They also gave us some kind of substance that we need to bathe Rowie in every day until the bottle finishes! :o Anyway, Rowie is going to the Boarding's on Tuesday... :( We just want to keep her there to keep her away from the ticks, until my grandfather moves out and Rowie can move back in. :) While Rowie's at the kennels, we're going to spray the whole yard with insectiside(my mom sais it's been taken care of and I don't need to worry) and we're hopefully going to get a bug zapper. I'm also going to keep Rowie on an EFFECTIVE flea and tick collar 24/7 from now on... :D I'm so glad everything went well! And thank you all so much for your support and advice..where would I be without my best doggy pals? :D Love you all so much!
