1. LOL Rowie you always make me laugh. Tomson (grandad's dog) seems to idolise me (I don't know why...?) so whenever I go over there he follows me everywhere, yes even to the toilet. He'll sit outside the door and whinge until I come out. He doesn't do this to anyone else, someone shed some light onto why I am the (un)lucky one?
2. Ooh what a cutie... good luck!!
3.
bk_Blue So you have a swinger too! I see no harm in it , it's a way to take out their frustrations...I beleive that instead of getting into little mini fights the mounting is actually an alternative to squabbles...
LOL maybe your people can talk to my people and we can have a play date. Bk's problem is that he's not selective in who he tries to bonk... he'll go up to a dog on lead and try to do it and he's been snapped at quite a few times doing this- the owner gets annoyed because it looks like I can't control my dog yadda yadda... I am fine with the bonking if the other owner doesn't mind but as long as they are off lead so there is less chance of a fight. And some owners crack it anyway- I was at the beach and he and this other dog were play fighting, mounting etc (no aggression, just normal dog behaviour) and the owner of this other dog got really irritated and told me to keep my dog away from hers.
4. Blitzkrieg gets called his full name when he's being naughty. Which is often. Other names are: BK, Blitz, Blitzie, Bubby, Bubsy, Mungo, The Prototype, Wonderdog, Puppy, Pest, Brat, My Little Boy, Sookyhead... that'll do!
5.
for the most part of the walk the Shepherd rides the Lab, then the Lab rides the Shepherd...after my little girl watched she joined right in...now its really embarressing because they are such swingers..you see the 3 of them hopping along as if a train all humping each other.
I once saw BK do this at the dog park- he was the meat in the sandwich so to speak- it looked hysterically funny and it seemed as if he was enjoying himself, but they stopped after a while and I try to discourage him from doing it. It is difficult work to get him to stop mounting other dogs (only ones bigger than him... :-? ) but it is for his own good so he doesn't end up in a fight. :evilbat: He was neutered when we got him (6 mths, he is now almost 8) so he may have learned this behaviour beforehand.
6. YAY!!! Go Kato!!! :drinking:
7. Awww how sweet! Lily has a crush...
8. ROFL- that's my next excuse for being late!!!
9. Hey they are pretty cute- don't know if I could put up with the poo flinging though. 8)
10. Gee I don't know what to say. How very scary and sad for you and your family. A physical examination at the vet may be worth looking into- sometimes when a dog is in pain he will act strangely for no apparent reason. Another list I am on wrote in about a happy, friendly blue heeler who "turned" on his family and bit their baby, so they had him PTS and autopsied- turned out there was a tumour growing on the nerve into the brain which was most likely making the dog act the way he did. Apart from that I can't offer you any advice. :(
11. Congrats Rowie!!! Hope you make many more posts!!!
12. Happy Birthday Rowie!!!!!! I think I'm a day late too, but I've been busy moving house, forgive me.... Hope you had a fantastic day!!! :bday: :bday: :bday: :bday: :bday: :bday: :bday: :bday: :bday: :bday: :bday: :bday: :bday: :bday: :bday:
13. Thank you HF. 8) I have also read from an English Cocker Spaniel breed club website that spaying (not neutering) a cocker can on occasion produce a spay coat (however IMO this is not an excuse to leave a bitch entire!). I was very young when we had our cocker so I don't know if her coat was different to an entire cocker's coat though. :-?

Puppies update

ohhh cute!!! what litte angels they all look like.
15. I read the whole thing too  I really don't know what I want yet, I seem to change my mind a lot... I want to continue my tertiary edcucation in some form next year. I want to go overseas and spend a lot of time in Europe and have multiple affairs with a veritable smorgasbord of charming men (well they seem to have deserted Australia  ). One day I would like to move to the country and have a mini-farm: ducks, cows, horses, sheep, lots of dogs. Maybe a rescue centre of sorts... I'd also like to set up an alternative to the main youth music program in my city, because we really need it. There is certainly a market for it. I want to be reasonably healthy because it's very scary to have that taken away from you, and financially secure enough so I don't have to worry about working myself into the ground at retirement age. I just want to be happy. That shouldn't be too much to ask. :)
16. WELCOME BACK EGG  you had us all worried girl :x don't disappear for so long again! (by the way, glad you are back!) :D
17. WELL DONE KIGER!!!!!!!!!!!!! You must so proud!!!
18. OHHHHHHH They are just adorable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want one!!!!!!!!!!!!! No, I want two... oh heck why not just take the lot of em....
19. BK is not aggressive with other dogs, which I am ever thankful for (except when another, bigger dog challenges him, then he won't back away from a fight and actually seems to relish all the growling and posturing  not that I encourage it!!!). He however is very dominant and will not submit- there was only one dog at the dog park (an English Pointer called Snoopy) who he submitted to while playing, it was the clash of the titans as all the other dogs had given up playing and left it to our two  . I tried using a halti on him and it worked for a while but I tried it the other week and it did nothing, he is only 25kg at his heaviest but god he is strong, I feel better off with the choke chain. If we see another dog while we're walking he'll whinge and pull a little. If the dog is smaller than him he'll sniff and be friendly but that's it; bigger than him, it's playtime. He seems to react more to males, with females he doesn't care too much- if they want to play, great, if they don't he won't force the issue. I have seen him with dogs who have forced him into a corner, or have surrounded him, to get out of it he'll do this ninja back kick thing (in circles!!) that makes the other dogs back away. He is so unbelievably tolerant of Tomson- Tomson being an entire male dachshund, he just tries to mount BK constantly whenever we visit, not very successfully either. BK just puts up with it, no snapping, biting, or growling. If it gets too much he just runs away or puts Tomson's head in his mouth and *breathes* on him! If he wanted to he could crush Tomson's skull and it would be like eating dinner for him, but he's just not aggressive at all.
20. Crested, sorry you didn't get your girl.
21. Congratulations! Very excited for you!! (why does it seem like everyone is getting new doggies but me....)
22. wow :O what a striking face. Stunning.
23. Shannon I've got no idea!! :-? I was told he was a heeler/bc cross but I dunno, people have said he looks like he's got pointer, bull terrier, dalmatian and greyhound in him :o so I wouldn't have a clue- but he acts like a heeler with his herding- one time he herded everyone into the loungeroom and lay down and stared at us all  and if anyone left he would follow them and herd them back.
24. look at his muscles! :o
25.  sending positive thoughts to you!
