1. OK it's not mine   but it might as well be... my sister's best friend (and ex bf) and his dad have got themselves a little puppy from the shelter. He's a mutt (lab X kelpie X border collie), he's 8 weeks old, and was from an all black litter of 6 boys and 3 girls dumped. He's all black with a little white smudge on his chest. His name is LEO. No photos yet but will post some when I get my Lily roll developed (prob next week). I'm so happy for them. These are the people that lost their Dobe, Fred, to bloat last year, and also Karen, Scott's mum (Peter's wife), died of cancer three weeks ago. So I think she would be happy to see them get another dog.
2. BK is manic in thunderstorms. He doesn't mind lightning but if there is thinder he will stay out in the yard barking ALL NIGHT. He won't go to bed until the thunder has gone. Then he thinks he's scared it away and looks so satisfied with himself.   Rinny was fine with thunder, he ignored it. Nobby our Basset was scared of thunderstorms and would hide unde the bed and whinge, the wuss. :D
3. AWwwww how cute!!! Congratulations Daisysmom!!!!
4. I want a Dobe, I want a Dobe, I want a Dobe *stops drooling* You can probably tell BK didn't come from a breeder- but we love him anyway. However I did see a blue heeler cross puppy that looked EXACTLY LIKE HIM at a PET SHOP selling for $400.

Natural Care Tips
I wish I had your self-discipline, I want to eat organic and pesticide free but it's hard for me to discipline myself that way.
I would also like to go organic but it's too bloody expensive!!! :o Meat is dear enough as it is and free range/organic meat is ridiculously overpriced... fruits and veg aren't so bad but I honestly can't taste the difference between organic and no. Unless it is home grown, you can always tell a home grown apple from a supermarket/market/fruit shop apple. Sorry to stray off topic  but I have no feeding tips to provide. I am learning a lot though. :)
8. Sorry it didn't work out yet again Courtnek... at least the lab's owners cared enough to call the cops to try to figure out where their girl had gone. Keep looking. You will find a dog one day.
9. LOL Crested- you do write well and I can imagine Princess Ben right down to that plastic bag.
10.    I don't think I can look at the site, not after seeing that photo of Molly.... what a transformation though
11. Welcome :D Lovely dog- they must be very rare if you had to look for 10 years! I've never heard of them. Are they related to the Rhodesian Ridgeback?
12. HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY INDY!!!! :bday: :bday: :bday: :bday: :bday: :bday: :bday: :bday: :bday: :bday: :bday: :bday: :bday: Hope you are going to bake him a special doggy cake. He will love you for it. Then you can send some down to BK.
13. Rinny and BK would hump each other a lot when they were playing and play-fighting. First off Rinny was alpha so he would always be humping BK, then BK would roll on his belly and pretend to have given in but instead he would bite Rinny's ankles and get him off balance so he could hump Rinny. Rinny being top dog would get really annoyed when BK did this but as BK was younger and very agile he would jump all over the place and never get caught. It never got vicious though.
14.
Ben prefers not to play with toys.. His occupation is practicing being a human!
  I think BK has signed up for that course too. Unless the toy of choice is a fence post, my watch (which still has toothmarks in it from 7 years ago!), the garden hose, bits of charcoal from the fire, the axe, books, actually anything that he shouldn't be playing with.
15. Awww cute!!! It's great to see Lily playing with another dog. send the cute guys to me!!
16. Poor Boomer  . I don't know for sure if he was dumped, but he was either dumped or ran away and his owners never bothered to look for him, because we got him from the pound.
17. Aroura, you didn't forget, Kiwi is right, Australia and NZ celebrate Fathers' Day in September and Mothers' Day in May.
18. For me it was always having dogs and reading several dog books over and over again when I was younger. (I wanted to be a vet and read everything I could get my grubby hands on when I was a kid.) I have got a lot of useful info from the net and of course from this site. :D
19. WELCOME! We would love to see some pics!
20. LOL! That's fantastic!!!
21.
BK, could he have some dalmation in him as well? those spots, and the nose, just look "dalmationy" to me.... :D
Yeah I keep thinking he might have some Dal mixed in there, not only because of the "spots" but the ear shape is very Dalmationy (love that word!), and he's really quite friendly (not that a lot of ACDs/BCs aren't, but they are much more reserved than BK is by nature, they are bred to be suspicious). I wish I could have seen his parents (not to mention the jerks who dumped him  they missed out  )
22. The dog I have now is my favourite out of the dogs we've had- he's a mutt. :D Someday I would really love to own a Dobermann and a Weimaraner, and if I ever get any sheep, a Kelpie. 8)
23. Thanks for all your help guys. I think Mum wants Lily to be an outside toilet cat but we have a litter tray as well. She takes her out about every hour and after meals, and she'll dig a little hole in the dirt and do her business. She's very affectionate already, she loves to be patted and stroked and held. She doesn't like her basket though, much prefers the couch (well wouldn't you?)  . I will let mum know about the scratching post. We don't have any indoor plants and we don't get the poinsietta (sp?) at Christmas. She doesn't seem to like water yet, she likes the cat milk though. :D
24. I have no idea how old she is... she's pretty small but leggy (she is a little on the thin side from being a stray I suppose). I have read that kittens can get pregnant by the age of 4 months but I don't think she's that old yet. She is SO CUTE!!!! :D I am so excited, we've never had a stray animal before and now mum is keeping her!
25.
I'm sorry.....I'm a Libra....I can't vote.....How can I possibly select one beautiful coat over another? They all look great to me....
LOL I'm a Libra Behle and I managed to vote... no piking out of this one!!!
