Poor Dog  ... I can't really tell what breed she is?
I'm pretty sure she's a Pit of some kind -

We got him... what was it.... September....16. Hey! It's been a month tomorrow!
I also want to say how much I admire all of you teenage dog-owners on Dogo. I'm so impressed with all of you. You do so much more with and for your dog(s) than I ever was able at that age. I did the best I could with the resources I had then (books), but I didn't have internet access until I was 15 or 16. How I wish I'd grown up on Dogo, getting all this valuable experience! You guys rock!
Thank you :calus:

Oh wait up I went back and re-read it a couple times and found the part he was talking about... sorry bop!!!!!!!!!!! I think it was this part:
I don't like leaving him for long, mainly because here its frowned apon to leave a dog for more than 4-5 hours in a day, and I don't particuarly like being called an dog abuser, or having people act like I was even if they don't openly say it...
Ya, It's not abuse if you have to be away from home for 7-8 hours at a time to get money to pay for your dog. Basically you are working for your dog... If its not that then i think I understand what Bop was saying, that Nea should not mind what other people think but that if she knows that she is taking care of her dogs then thats what matters... Right Bop? Sorry for kinda attacking you earlier, I read yours and nea's posts in the wrong way

How big was she? I saw a 5 month old Dane at the park yesterday that was easily 80-100 lbs. Just wondering...

This year I have really short school days, so he only gets left for 1-4 hours usually. Last year though he was alone when I was in school, roughly 6-7 hours/day. Next year I guess it'll be similar, if not longer. But then I'll have the possibiliy of coming home and taking him in the middle of the day if its a really long day.. He's indoors as I don't have a yard of my own, and the balcony is low to the ground and I don't want him taking little flying lessons. He gets a bone, or filled Kong, or something like that when I leave. Often he doesn't eat it until I get back though, and just lies and sleeps. Webby doesn't mind being left for a long period of time. But he does NOT like being left several times! If he's alone for 7 hours in a day, he is perfectly fine when I come home, and happy. If I go to school for an hour, then come home, go down town for 20 minutes or so, come home, then dissapear again to the store for 15 minutes or so, then he gets worried. I don't like leaving him for long, mainly because here its frowned apon to leave a dog for more than 4-5 hours in a day, and I don't particuarly like being called an dog abuser, or having people act like I was even if they don't openly say it...
nea who cares what anyone has to say about your dogs. I'm sure you know they are well cared for and that is all that matters. It would be nice to always be able to spend time with your dogs, but not everyone can just sit at home on their butts all day. People work! I often leave Blitz home for 7-8 hours and in that time I come home once for lunch and to take him outside for a brief walk. I do have a fenced yard, but, because Blitz is so friendly I can not risk leaving him out where someone could easily take him.
I'm sorry Mr but that was INCREDIBLY rude if I read it right. Are you saying that we don't give a f*** what Nea's opinoin is? Other people have said that they only leave their dogs for a little while too! And if its the school thing then oh well! Leaving a dog at home is leaving a dog at home! That's all this was about, not do you leave them for work or school. Errrrrrr..... :x

Wasn't quite sure where to put this, but I wanted to share this poor little girl...
Poor Princess was found alone and abandoned in the middle of the night huddled in the bushes in a downtown are near a college campus. She was hardly recognizable as a dog and could barely open her eyes because of the horrible case of mange. The young lady that found her could not have animals in her apartment, so she took her to the local animal shelter. She kept in touch with the shelter and found that nobody claimed her. Her cage was being poorly kept and she was not being fed enough. That is when the young lady decided that she had to get the poor baby out of there. She made contact with a friend that had volunteered with a rescue group. That is how she came to us. Although Princess was in a lot of pain when she arrived, her spirit was not hurt. Her tail still wagged and she had plenty of kisses to go around. Her treatment has begun and Princess is looking and feeling much better... Thanks to AFH's Brownie Fund, we were able to help Princess. If you would like to help Princess and others like her, donations can be sent to: AFH - Brownie's Fund, PO Box 222801, Chantilly, VA 20153.
I hope that she gets her forever home asap! Note: Edited to put warning after R2 complained to me :P

R2- I have one little question.... I put his gentle leader on this morning for a couple minutes, and it seemed to be squishing up his face alot. Should I loosen it up a bit? Oh ya and also when he's dive bombing and stuff with it on should i just make squeeky noises and when he looks at me give him a treat? Thanks!

Well we just got back from our first training session! It was soooooooooo cool! It's amazing how well your dogs will behave for other people  But ah well, it'll get better. Carson really likes the trainer, espcially caause she carries around treats all the time, he is rather food motivated  Tonight we worked on sit, come, down, "pay attention" (aka look at me stupid, lol), and clicker=chicken. Oh yes and the best thing was that we got to meet Tammy (aka Rotten_two) HI TAMMY!!!!!!!!!!!! Can't wait till November 8   Hope this'll get the silly outa control doggie some better manners! Wish us luck!
-
That is so cool! Hope she gets adopted soon! Oh ya and can't wait for pics

Thanks guys. I told myself that Carse wouldn't replace her, but it's hard to do. I did have a good cry over her last night, and I'm doing better now. I don't know what I would do without Dogo
-
I read through some of the things and that looks really really cool! I think the "cork screw" tails look a little too Pug-ish for me though
-
Thanks DL :D Ya I am happy with Carson, he's just got loooooooooooooooooooooots of puppy energy. I'm just worried that it won't wear off ever. His first training lesson is Wednesday so hopefully that will help some too

I was just thinking, one year ago yesterday is when we got Mocha. I almost cried a couple times yesterday, but no one else seemed to remember (in my family) so I didn't really feel like bringing it up. I miss my girl so much, its so wierd without her here. I thought that having Carson would remind me of her, but he is completly the opposite. I am always thinking "Oh Mocha would've never dont that" or "Mocha never would play like that" or "Mocha would never bite us like that"... It's just so wierd.... Just had to let it out, thanks guys
-
NO you did NOT tell us that she popped out all of her stiches! :x lol jk! SOOOOOOOOOOOOO happy to hear that she's doing better! :drinking:
-
I said no, but if puppy play biting counts then yes... I wasn't sure
-
Guess this wouldn't work w/ Carson's 2 inch long tail, eh?
-
Thats what Brad just told me! HAPPY DAYS!!!!! Now go have yourself a drink missy! And give em a kiss on the snout for me
