We don't know eachother that well but I always used to look for your posts to read (they were always good) and I loooove all of the pictures. I'm glad things are going good for you. Welcome back!

I'm so happy for you. It's fantastic that everything worked out with Bear and I'll bet you are just bursting at the seams with excitement!!! I'm going to look at the pictures any minute. Now you've made it so I've GOT to take a peek...;)

I really want to see this show! If my fellow Dogoers like it, it's gotta be good. Heh... I have NO idea what channel it is on or at what time. Is it Animal Planet or...? What day as well? Some one fill me in. :D

Merlin fits in really well with your fur family. :) All of your babies are adorable and have this wonderful look. They all look truly happy and content. You must be a great mum!

The puppy I'm dogsitting, that is. He hasn't arrived yet but I will be sitting him from this coming Monday (April 4th) until April 18th. Not only is that going to be fun and big bucks, but I'm going to be able to quench my thirst for a puppy! (I always get it twice as bad in the spring for some reason...) He is more of a teen than a wee little puppy but he's still got puppy breath, puppy eyes, puppy fur, puppy everything. *sigh* I. want. now. Anyway, he's a Flat-coated Retriever. I don't know where they got him but I hear nothing but good things about the family... :) His mum and daddy are going to France for two weeks. :o Must be nice... His name is Elmer. Like Elmer Fudd. I have seen a few pictures of him and it seems to fit. I'm sooo excited! Some one hold me down! LOL!

Woohoo!! You should know that the same thing happens to my Lab mix, Kyra and myself. When a person asks if she's a Lab or a mix, I basically hug them! LOL I've been asked if she was a Pit Bull or a Great Dane...people can be so ignorant. Let's hear it for dog owners who know their breeds!!

Hey Aroura! It's nice to have you back! And what a surprise to bring with you for your grand return. You really know the way to a Dogomaniac's heart, don't you? ;) Merlin is super cute. I think my heart just melted! I still say he's mine! All mine! My precious. *grin* He looks like a real mummy's boy. He'd probably cry for you anyway! *pout*

Oooh, I missed it! :x I hadn't even heard of this show until you guys brought it up. I would love to see an episode...it seems pretty "interesting". Heh. I'm not a reality TV show kind of person, is it really that sort of atmosphere? I have to confess that as soon as I heard one of the ladies had Australian Shepherds, it was a done deal. I love those dogs. Simply gorgeous is what they are! :loveu:

I saw the pictures of Maggie in the photo section. What a sweetheart. I bet she was really hard to let go of and that you wanted to keep her. I guess it is best if you don't have a puppy yet if you still feel it is too much work. Plus, you'd want your Mum on board so she could help you out with a few of the responsibilites here and there... I don't understand why you are not allowed an adult dog though. It wouldn't be close to as much work as raising a puppy from scratch. Is your Mum against it totally and completely?

Why the heck were these children playing catch infront of a huge mixed breed dog? Is it not going to be tempting for the dog to run after the child and get the ball? Where are the parents? Why would they let their kids bring home a dog they randomly found? Probably with little to no information on how the children came across the dog... How is the dog being blamed entirely for this whole thing? Now that all of those questions are off my chest, I've got to say that this really hits home with me. K is a Labrador mix and often I have thought she was mixed with Rottie. This dog has a similar face to my baby and I just can't bear the thought of anything bad happening to the little thing. :( I don't know what else to say...

Why the heck did you leave us in the first place?! I don't think I can bring myself to forgive you. The wound is still so fresh... Not. It's so good to have you back! I've always loved your Boxer pics! You have such beautiful dogs and Merlin is no exception -- what a little sweetheart. Can I have him? Please?

Labrador or Golden Retriever. No, I'm not bias at all. I own a Labrador Retriever mix named Kyra, whom has just turned eight years old. She was raised by our cat, Ginger and has brought up our own little Elmo. This is not just based on Kyra. We have various friends with Labs and Goldens and both breeds seem to show a geniune love for all creatures. Our friends, Luke and Sarah have both a Lab and a Golden. They also have three cats and there are RARELY disagreements between the two different species...

Do most of you clip your dogs' toenails yourself?
Mutt_Lady replied to JackieMaya's topic in Everything about dogs
I'm a chicken. I'm way too frightened that I'll cut too close and that I'll hurt K. I wouldn't be able to deal with that, I'm a suck. K goes to the groomer's when she needs to be bathed and such... -
I agree with what has been said thus far. You know your pooch the best out of everyone. It comes down to what YOU think. Does your dog usually get nippy or was this just straight out of the blue? Maybe we could make a better decision if you'd give us a teeny bit more detail. If the bite drew blood and things like that...

I have the beautiful, the stunning, the hyper Kyra. She is a Labrador Retriever mix and just a terror when it comes to energy level. She constantly wants to be bouncing all over the place and playing some sort of little game. She has more energy than we know what to do with. I can honestly say that she is the most energetic Lab I have ever met. I usually hear how Labs are "couch potatoes" or "slugs" around the house. Kyra? Um, no!! She is the polar opposite of that generalization. This girl is barrels and barrels of zoomies! :P I own a dog walking/dogsitting business and usually each dog gets walked twice a day to ensure they aren't ruining my house when we come back. Kyra is the exception. Other than the Border Collie I sit for, she is the only one who gets more than two walks. For those two, I have to jog as fast as possible twice a day to tire them out. That's not including a dog park visit... But K does have ever "down time" where all she wants to do is snooze and watch TV with Kev. I love her to bits but she is "special" to say the least. ;) Definitely not your average Lab..that's why she's my baby!! She doesn't have many toys...mostly bones. She kills stuffies too fast. I'm going to buy her some new ones as soon as I get a cheque from one of the doggy parents I sit for. I bet she'll be bouncing off the walls! LOL Any other breed you want to know about I can probably help with, I see a variety of breeds each day...
-
Argh. Don't you hate that? It seems impossible that they can get burrs on their tail...but there they are. The weird thing is...when I take K in an actual forest area, she never ever gets burrs on her. Figure that one out. :P

This is so sad. All those poor little babies...I'm so mad right now. I'm going to wait a bit until I cool off and then write an e-mail. When I get angry, I tend to go Medieval on their bums... :P
-
I probably wasn't around yet when Shaker came in and out of your life. BUT, as a firm believer in fate, I think that you are probably destined to own that little pooch. It's got to be more than coincidence that he showed up on the site when you were browsing...;)
Like she hasnt been through enough already. Now she is going through the stress of moving... geez. They should be doing what they can to help her out instead of making things harder.
Well said. Losing your husband...I couldn't even imagine it. The pain must be way past overwhelming. :( Then, on top of that, you have all the stress of moving. We moved in here years ago and we still have boxes that need to be unpacked!! Moving is a stress in itself...this poor woman. I will be thinking of her and praying for her.

That's great news, Tammy! I'm happy to hear that Beaux is fitting in well. He had quite an awesome lady to teach him what love from a human was like. ;)

I also joined a bit too late to meet you. But it's still nice to have you back! :)

Whew, at first I was scared when you said the water bowl was full. I automatically thought the same thing as you... I find it fantastic that you have a neighbour who is so sweet and caring. :D It turned out to be a really good thing, rather than the bad thing we thought it was...just keep in mind how lucky you are to have a neighbour that nice! Half of mine are insane.
