1. you go pooh bear, you handsome devil you!
2. happy 14 miss zoe!
3. aspen is one sloppy drinker. i think he sucks up half the water in the bowl and stores it in his lips until he can get to momma -- his personal napkin! gaia is very neat about it her tongue barely seems to touch the water. on hot days i drop a few ice cubes into their water. aspen refuses to drink with ice floating haha. gaia dives in trying to get the ice and she makes bubbles with her nose -- that is a treat to watch!
4. who names a dog mike? we have a couple of those "neighborhood" dogs too. one happens to be a sweet pittie boy named snoopy. while he is great with dogs and people he is car stupid and i have talked to his redneck father who cares not at all. i finally did convince him to snip snoopy thank doG! even tho he is the friendliest dog my gaia tears curtains down when he comes to mark HER yard so me and snoopy's dad are bout to have us another little chat!
5. you are welcome very much pom! i hope it helps if needed.
6. ess you need to loosen the nose strap a little bit. normally when dogs loose hair right there it is because the nose loop is too tight. you may also want to keep rewarding him for walking nicely a step at a time -- it kinda sounds like he is not quite acclimated -- they really shouldn't be in a situation to pull while on the gl. another suggestion might be to try the front clip harness since he is such a big puller. same idea as gl but pressure is distributed on the chest and shoulders.
7. tough one and i sympathize. i don't really have any advice regarding how to make your mom a better dog parent. keep talking to her and maybe if she sees how passionate you are she will consider things you say. yes the dog may "hate" being tied up but don't you think the dog would "hate" it more if she were injured by a car? as for punishing her when she came to you -- i will offer you an alternative. if you hit your dog when she comes to you she will associate coming to you with getting hit. so next time she may not come at all. anytime she comes when called there should be lots of praise -- coming when called is always a good thing. she did not associate the punishment with being in the road or out of her yard. next time (hopefully there isn't one but in case) -- get used to carrying treats in your pockets and a leash. if you have her stay on the other side of the road -- check traffic and cross the road and leash her. then the 2 of you can safely cross the road when there are no cars. just suggestions i hope they help :)
8. since we have had gaia we have treated her for allergies (she chews her poor feet raw). usually we have treated her seasonally but in the last year we had noticed it was pretty much all year round. so this spring has been particularly bad and the acupuncture and meds are not working as well. our vet suggested we allergy test her -- they can do this with a blood test now -- woo hooo. so a couple weeks ago we had her tested. our vet called last night with her results . . . 4 grasses including blue fescue and bermuda (which are abundant in our yard) lots of different tree and weed pollens dust mites 4 different very common types of mold and the kicker -- the thing she is most allergic to -- HUMAN DANDER! luckily she thinks allergy shots will be quit effective to combat these allergies. boo hoo my dog is allergic to me! :(
9. haha i was gonna give you the exact same website! nicely done TDG!
10. hahahahah i think i get it! yet another reason to prolong marriage -- not that i needed another :)
11. so after i'm married orgasms become multi-level? intense blah and would you get the helloffa me? did i get those correct k?
12. intense orgasm? isn't that redundant? aren't all orgasms intense by nature?
13. 3 times struck by lightning, jm? that explains a lot if ya know what i mean?
14. neither of mine have taken to water. rain is one quick way to have them 'get busy' and come straight back inside. if it is raining really hard aspen will give you that hang dog face. we also have a pool and they won't go near it when it is open. german engineering for ya
15. holey moley $3800 that's a steal. how much yard are you fencing? we fenced our back yard (about 2/3 acre -- i don't remember linear feet) but it cost us about 4X that amount. only the portion directly next to our redneck neighbors is privacy. sheesh i would hate to have seen the price for the whole thing privacy!!!! don't know if i posted these but here are a couple pics .... this is our double gate and this is the privacy portion i am sure the dogs would love a new fence! remember tho they can still hear so it won't cut all the barking! DO -- what did i tell you bout trying to scare the preacher? you have to go up and ring the bell then streak!

21. what a bunch of horndogs we are lately! ya'll make me proud ;) my mom told me i swallowed a nickel when i was little -- but everything came out ok when i fed fred hahhah!
22. ok assume for a minute i agree that waiting is ok (totally hypothetical here) let me weigh my options . . . . testicular cancer vs. slightly taller dog. hmmm cancer or taller? i think i pick taller. jweissg i would be interested to see the bone density study as i have not heard of that particular side effect. also let me say a couple things about goldens and behavior problems (ps luvmydog i was in no way implying your dog is aggressive or will become so -- it was just an insight for jweissg). first while i do think breeding has quite a lot to do with temperament i don't think that is the only piece in the puzzle. there plenty of dogs that have been "poorly" bred that have great dispositions and likewise there are some "well bred" dogs that are true nutballs. with goldens here is what i perceive to be the problem (remember just my general hypothesis every dog is different). people adopt a golden (or lab or whatever really i am not picking on goldens) and they say to themselves -- hey this is a golden and they are great with kids, people, other dogs. then they fail to properly socialize them to kids people and other dogs. wuh oh. now we have a fear biter who hates the ups guy or a dog who doesn't play well with other dogs etc. so now they call a trainer/behaviorist when they should have called to take puppy kindergarten 6 months ago. i love goldens and there are plenty of really good goldens out there. i was merely stating the trend that i have seen personally -- which is people making the assumption that a golden will take care of itself or somehow requires less work because they are great dogs naturally. i know i got a little off topic there -- i still recommend early spays because to me the benefits far outweigh the consequences.
23. start with a good puppy kindergarten!! how old is the pup?
