1. Nice one! Well done Candy! :D
2. What a good puppy! Good for her :D
3. I use a big very bright pink Eukanuba bin that I nabbed from one of the reps when he came to our surgery!
4. A few nights ago I went down to the dogs and Ben one of the dogs that Meg lives with was pulling in a gorse type bush into the back run. Meg again was limping worse than ever and I was thinking oh sh!t! I put 2 and 2 together and I checked her and there in her pad was a wee sliver of a thorn! The pad (to date) isn't infected at all, but she is 100% sound now and the gorse bush is being chopped down! Talk about relief :)
5. Whoa folks slow down and stop shooting down people who want to breed a dog for a companion. Not all dogs have to be top show quality. If Crested likes the temperament of Bella, and wants a puppy to carry on her disposition, then that is her business. This whole BYB term is getting way out of hand. Yes there are a lot of dogs needing homes in kennels, but respectable people do have the right to breed their dogs. If Meg had not been spayed then she would have had a litter purely because I love her sweet temperament, and not because of cock and bull showring quality. Multiple litters I disagree with if they are over such a short period of time, but the price and intentions of selling a pup will depend on a lot of factors, which include socio-economic factors also, which many people neglect to think about. i.e some buck eejit in England I know of paid
6. How difficult for you :-? Starfox gave some great firsthand experience advice there, but we are all here for you. Definitely moderate exercise to maintain Bentley's weight, and the glucosamine and chondroitin really is super duper stuff. I also just read on another doggy board that I am on that there is a new product out:
Glycoflex has a new product: Glycoflex III. It has 1000 mg. of MSM and 1000 mg. of glucosamine. That means you don't have to give as many pills for one thing, and the MSM will do more to help with the joint problems in older dogs.
7. Agreed, my furbutts can put me into a good mood anytime
8. Have you got a photo and we could possibly have more more to go on?
9. DAL, Zoey reacted just like any perturbed startled dog would react in that situation. It was a startle reaction. Kids and dogs have to be watched, but from what I perceive of the situation, the dog was certainly not to blame.
10. too sweet, I can picture it clearly :D
11. Is this an actual sport? Would be pretty cool if it was though I wouldn't fancy doing the dog walk! When I run Meg I often have a finale, and jump the last jump myself after she clears it. Its kind of a trademark of mine, and one judge once tried docking me, but couldn't do anything as I didn't touch or bring the pole down, and to date never have. I would also if I have a nasty cross over, beat Meg to the end of the tunnel by jumping over it. I'm intrigued now by this possible new sport !
12. http://www.obedienceuk.com/crufts2004.asp The Crufts Obedience teams are now all up, if anyone wants to keep up to date when the competitions take place. Meg and I are down near the bottom of the page, just to prove that we are definitely going! :D squeeeeeeeeeee! :D
13. Funnily I was wondering about what age he was as well!
14. Whoo hoo Go BK! :D
15. If you claim to be such an animal lover and your aunt is too, then for heavens sake ask someone who has a car to drive you the milage with the dog in a cage. Failing that if your aunt can't stick a car drive of less than an hour for 15 years of unjudgmental companionship, then get in touch with the local dog warden, most dog wardens will euthanase or have a resident vet. You have plenty of options open to you, but think how uncomfortable this poor dog feels. She deserves dignity, so give it to her and dont drag yourself down to the level of doing a botched up posioning job where she will die slowly and in pain, with every gasping breath wrecking her whole little body, as her heart struggles to beat, and she is wildly looking into her owners eyes, asking for help. Dog forbid.. but if it came to my wee Meg... I would give her all the dignity that she deserves because she has served me well, and owes me nothing.
16. No excuse for cropped ears.. Aesthetic reasons are not a reason to butcher a dog.
17. Well thats a new one on me... I would be quite interested at looking into the genetics of how a silver coat colour should arise, from the view of alleles. I have to say though, that last photo looks very like a Weimeraner with the longer slender muzzle!
18. This arguing is getting pathetic, picking out individuals to mock at and now accusations are being thrown. That happens in my country and thats what makes my country the way it is. I come to Dogo to get away from the sh!t and hatred that leads to killings that goes on here. Lets remember that this forum is about dogs and quit this pathetic bloody fighting, before it turns into a full scale riot.
19. Why pay for a crossbreed from a "so called breeder" when you can home a dog from a shelter? These designer dogs are crosbreeds, just like cockapoos, labradoodles etc etc etc....
20. Cassie, I so identify with you. At the surgery where I worked, owners came in all the time with dogs peeing and crapping , because they didn't bother to take them out!
21. Hey Ickle are you going too :D ? I've such a list of people to meet up with so anyone else going, yell! :D Whooo hoo 2 weeks today and I will be sitting with Sander watching the Dog championships in the main ring!! I need that mad whoo hoo emoticon! :multi:
22. *Groan* Now I know why I dropped history in year 10 at school :P
23. Aww Give Bentley a big hug
24. Nope Bobby was a stray that I knew of a while back (programme was filmed in August 2003) and the people that got Bobby honestly never trained her in pet obedience. Perhaps it will encourage a few owners to enrol in classes, when they see that it isn't just Border Collies that can steal the limelight on the competitive training scene
25. you didn't put the best option.. ALL days!! :D There is something great on everday in the various rings! I will be there all 4 days, but won't be competing until Saturday in the agility, then Sunday is the big day in the main ring for the Obedience world championship cup, and triathlon and showhandling in between being in the main ring! Squeeeeeeeeeeeeee I am SO totally excited! :multi: (not that you could tell of course I'm sure  ) Are you going qwerty?
