Sounds like she's doing alright, though. I'm glad.

I'm so glad! don't worry -- I'd have done the same

brought tears to my eyes. I'm so glad Ruby has such a wonderful home now.

I can see!!!

I think you're absolutely right about this .... and doing the best thing for everyone, including the new puppy. I hope Becky understands why it's best to take the pup back. I'm sure she will

That sounds fun!!! :D

oh, the pups are so cute! I know -- it's very informative as well .... SO CUTE!!!!

yea, Oscar's got the routine down too. But he's not subtle ... he runs to where I am and barely stops in time to sit before he plows mw over. especially when the kitty's getting a treat.

I just wanted to say thanks to all of you for teaching me about dog food. I've learned a whole lot about dog nutrition, thanks to you all. Oscar and Emmy-cat are both eating Wellness and doing great. and they gobble it up like candy- heheehee :D

:o :o :o :o :o Oh, I'm so sorry. Seems to me that the timing on this is very, very wrong, with everything that's going on with Sassy right now. I'm far from an expert, but I do know that my Oscar - happy, healthy, non-traumatized puppy, was upset enough when we brought the kitty home. And not really because she was a kitty, but because it changed his routine and he had to share his kingdom, I think. Sorry, I guess that's not the advice you're looking for .... talk to her about how you're feeling about everything that's happened recently? How's Sassy doing, by the way?

glad it all worked out :D

oh, we all do it ... that's for sure. I can't go anywhere without wanting to bring home a little treat for the critters ... :D

We are in the process of switching the puppy and the kitty to Wellness. They both seem to love it so far .... it's not any more expensive than the kibble we were feeding, and I think it smells better than the other kibbles we've tried -- I got the chicken kind, maybe pei obsessed got a fish kin, but I don't smell fishy stuff .... anyway, it's great so far!
-
I saw it --- she looks quite happy and content to me .... :D

Don't worry, Terri -- no one's offended by you or meant to offend you. There are a lot of people here with a great amount of knowledge - and they're willing to help. For me, I've found that the suggestions I found here, especially by courtnek and kat, have been tremendously helpful. My Oscar was starting to have some issues with Zack, the 'man' of the house. It is me that mostly trains/feeds/walks the dog, so Oscar got it in his head that he was higher ranking than Zack. Our problem didn't go far beyond maybe two growls, as Zack put him right on lead and started going through vigorous training sessions with Oscar. The puppy was soon convinced that Zack is the Alpha and we're all happy again. I'm also about halfway through the book -- The other end of the leash -- and I think it's teaching me a lot. But I do think a professional is needed in your situation.

Shopping spree! What more do I need to buy?

beautiful! now, don't panic. When I brought Oscar home we didn't have anything. We knew we were going to get a pup, but we didn't think it'd be so soon. relax, you're going to be fine. Do buy some of that enzyme cleaner stuff. I lived by it while I was housetraining. And remember, when he's jumping all over everything -- he'll get bigger. My mantra -- It won't be cute when he's grown ... -
Why I'll be getting Monties dew claws removed

That's good. The pup might like a soft bed. Oscar has a couple of old blankets that are nice and soft in various places in the house. he loves them. I can't see spending tons of money on fancy dog beds .... I caved - he sleeps in my bed -- but he knows OFF .... -
I'm so glad he's doing better!! keep us posted ... and welcome.

I don't pretend to understand either, but Oscar sleeps on the bed with me, and zack often works late, so by the time he gets home, Oscar and I are in bed. Naturally, Oscar will bark when he hears the door open, but then sometimes he runs downstairs to meet zack, and sometimes he sits up - right on top of me -- and growls when zack gets to the bedroom door. when I tell him to knock it off he does, and when zack tells him to stop being silly, he does. I think when he's startled, he reacts to protect me ... I don't know, just sounded a little similar.

I'm not a sue-happy girl, BUT -- Otter can and should sue this girl. What she did is wrong - morally and legally and she needs to be taught a lesson.

heheheee heeeeheheheee ...

that sounds great! I'm glad you've found a class that works for him.
