 Oh sorry. I thought you were asking me. So sorry.

That looks heavy. The chain we use around Asim's neck is the lenght of a choker. Ro made it out of "chain" and it then locks at each end like a choker. Then we use a regular leash . We don't use a chain like that.

OK I have to put my 2 cents in for what its worth. I have 3 Rotties. I use all kinds of collars on them. I have the " Spike" ones, nylons, leather, bright pink, smiley face, choke chain, prongs, you name it I have it. Why because I like it.I like the variety. On the girls I have to use the prong collar and the chokers at all times because of the fighting that we experienced between them. The older members know what I went through with my girls. With out the prongs and the chokers on I have no control over my girls and they will snap at one another and a fight might start. I can not risk that. But Asim breaks through every collar we have. He is a very powerfull dog. He will be 2 in a few days and has broken through 5 choke chains, 3 nylon collars, snapped 2 leather collars. We use a real chain on him now but only when we take him out though. I don't think a collar will make a dog "vicious". I would use it because it is different and looks strong enough that Asim probally couldn't break through it. Oh who,,, I ready for the attacks.......

No experience here but I'm wishing the best.. -
Free is now collecting Daequan's stuff animals and teething rings.

Courtneck> Rotties are double coated and they adapt to the climate that they are brought up it. So it wouldn't surprize me if they made good sled dogs, but I could be wrong.

:o Oh my, I am so glad that Beau and you are OK. I would have been in a panic and not have known the first thing to do to help my guys!

Boy it seems like forever since I've been on Dogo. I'm finally getting a hang of this new mommy stuff. I was kind of rusty. X is 10 after all. Well so far Daequan is spoiled...He knows all he needs to do is cry and I'll pick him up. I thought is was colic but the doctor told me if it was he would continue to cry all the time. Anyhoo about my furbabies,,,, Patti is doing great. Ever since her spay her attitude is so more relaxed now. I contine to work with the training methods from NILIF. Which by the way is the best!!!! Patti and Free can now tolerate to being near each other. However while they are in the same room together I do keep a prong colar with a short lead attached, if I see or here anything that will provoke a fight I yank on the lead to correct them. I have only needed to do this 2x in the begining. Now the girls can sit on the same sofa and lay on eachother without any problems. Asim doesn't even want to bother with them anymore. He is in his own little world now. He used to follow Patti everywhere she went and of coarse Free would get jealous. But now Asim has a new job he is always watching the baby. He sleeps by the crib when the Daequan is in it. He sits on gaurd where ever the baby is. If I'm in the other side of the house and the baby is crying Asim will come running to me, poke at my but with his nose then runs back to the room the baby is in. He will do this continously until I attend to DJ (Daequan). I am very inpressed with Asim because I thought he would not tolerate the baby. I thought the girls would be as calm as Asim is now but they get all hyper when the baby cries. They howl and pace back and forth and nudge the baby with their nose. Asim will then push the girls away from the baby. I hope I am making sense. I'm trying to type fast before Daequan wakes up. I added more pictures of him online if you want to see. Here is the link. http://community.webshots.com/user/xavierandrea I'll be back at work in about 3 weeks so I'll be back on Dogo more  8) .

Boy, you handled that well. I would have been a little less humane! Just goes back to my beliefs that some people shouldn't have pets!

Thanks everyone. The spay cost $600 ( $68 of that was for Thyroid test) because Patti is over 5 years old, her weight was a 115lb and the vet had to give her an additional 1/2 of anethisia(sp) because her uterus (sp) was very, very large. Aparently the vet says that it appears that Patti had 5-6 litters in her life to have such a large uterus. FYI she never had one while living with us. It is obivious to me that her previous owners were "done" with her and that is why they rid themselves of her  I was pi$$ed off to find out that Patti was a breeding machine! But thank DOG she is in a better home now and that is with us. When we had Free spayed it cost us $300 which is average here. Free was a year old when that was done. I do include X with the training, and I do see him sometimes making a mistake. I make sure to correct X so that he knows not to make the same mistake twice. I'll keep everyone updated. Thanks again.

Here's another update on Patti-cakes. She had her spay on the Saturday that just past. She is tolerating the pain very well. The spay set me back $600 but it is well worth it! The vet did tell me that she checked Patti's eyes while she was under and measured her lids. Well Patti's left eye lid is longer and curls in more than the right lid. She says that Patti will need surgery to correct this. The vet says that the surgery can wait a little because that will set me back another $600 or so. She says to continue to give Patti the ointment in her eyes to keep it moist. I did notice that since I have been placing the ointment in her eyes she doesn't tear as much. Even though Patti has been spayed only a little less than a week ago I have notice a slight change in her. Before she would scratch at the door to be let into the main part of the house and bark every time she heard Free barking on the other side. Now she is a quite as a mouse. I have been working with the dogs using the NILIF method. I swear the dogs are getting aggravated with me. Things that I used to let them do I am now not allowing unless they do what I want 1st. Free is the hardest right now. She is very stubburn. I admit that I paid special attention to her in the past because of her hips and arthitis and I let alot of things slide with her but NOT any more. Asim is very well trained because Ro trained him from the begining and never let him get away with anything. I do include Asim in the training so he can get used to me giving commands. I need to work on Xavier because he tends to forget to not let the dogs do whatever they want. Anyways, so far so good.

Thank DOG you didn't let them out.
