Oh Cassie I envy u! I cannot even feel comfotable leaving my dogs alone together for a few minutes much less over night! :(

I keep my dogs seperated when I'm not home because they've gotten in multiple fights, and although they've learned to get along pretty well now, there's still to much of a risk for me to trust them when I'm gone. I dunno, I'd be very apprehensive to leave any two dogs alone, just because fights can start so easily..... that's JMO. Goodluck. :)

Seen this place numerous times and everytime I look at it it makes me feel sick. :x :x :x That place is a puppy mill, they just give thier pups a quick bath and put them in front of some flowers, take a few shots and sell them for ridiculous prices. :evil: And yes there are actually people out there who buy puppies from this place! :evil: Most all the puppies die young though because they have so many health problems. Do a search on this place and u'll find that many many people have complained. Ugh sickening isn't it? :evil:

But my BC mix gets colder quicker because she doesn't have that thick undercoat that my mal x does.

Actually we think she might have some Akita in her, I've done a bit of research on the breed and her personality seems a lot like that of an Akita's. Ok tommorow school starts up again after our 2 week winter break. All this break I've been on a regular schedule, staying on the comp till about 11:30, then getting off, sitting on the couch with Abby and watching The Late Night Show with Conan O'brien (Love him!) and then at about 1 AM dragging myself up to bed. Now of course I have to get up early tommorow so I needed to go to bed early today. So I log off the comp at about 11:00 and go over to Abby who is sitting on the couch, settling down thinking this is just another ordinary night. I'll try to explain it as it happened: Me- "Bean come on upstairs time to go night night." Abby- :o :niedowiarek: (If she could have said something, from the expression on her face it woulda been something like this-) Huh? Wha? Do... Do u know what time it is? :niedowiarek: Me- "Come on Abby mommy has ta go ta bed early tonight" Abby- :niedowiary: *Slowly drags front half of self off couch* "So u're serious?" Me- Abby COME NOW Abby- *Pulls rest of self off couch and trots by eyeing me suspeciously* (Once upstairs she climbs on the bed on her blanket at the window, I go brush my teeth and get ready and come back about 10 mins later and crawl into bed) Abby- *Bewildered stare* So this is for real? :o :niedowiarek: Me- *rolls eyes* Night Ab. (5 mins later Abby is :sleep: ) I can't stop giggling over what just happened so I slide outta bed to come type this up and the look I get is a look of "I knew it" from Abby. :roll: I just had to share my little story with u all, and as many people before me, I have come to the much known conclusion that my life would be very boring without a dog. :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

:D :D :D It seems all my hard work with Abby is starting to pay off! Many of u know that she is dog aggressive. Well I had gotten to the point where I could totally trust her off leash at agility class around other dogs. She just ignores the dogs that are around her, and that was as much as I wanted, as I needed really to be able to move into cometition with her. But she was still really bad about totally "going off" at dogs we saw while on her daily walks. Whenever she saw another dog she'd start barking and snarling and pulling on the lead to try to get to the other dog. :-? So I have been working with her a lot of just ignoring the other dogs. And today on our evening walk I can really see that all my hard work is starting to pay off! As we were coming up the street a setter mix was coming down with it's owners. So I turned the corner (Abby had seen the dog) her ears perked up and she started to pull a little but I told her to leave it and even as we turned the corner she could still see the dog but she ignored it! Usually she would be pulling and just "going off" as I call it. LOL... This is such improvment! :D I'm so proud of her right now. :D I just wanted to share my progress with ya'll since the things I've learned at this forum are really what got me here! :D

Courtnek that's scary. :o :o :o I thought that was like common sense??? :o Guess not for some people.... lol

At our shelter if u are under 13 u have to have an adult with u if u want to work with any of the animals. I don't know how it is at other shelters, but I imagine it's pretty much the same. Check with u're shelter, they usually love having kids/teens get involved with rescue. Good luck! :D
