Like the last 2 replies said, if you have a fenced in yard, letting your dog out to play and be outside is fine. If you don't then you're asking for a world of trouble or heartache. Lots of things can happen to dogs that are left unsupervised outside. They could be hit by a car, stolen, poisoned, attacked by another dog (animal) etc...... Better to be safe than sorry. JMO :wink:

Of course his coat could be entirely different because of years of non-grooming. (meaning the dread locks could be from not being groomed for so many years) The town doesn't see a need for him to be checked out by a Vet ? No one has followed him to see where he disappears to ? Poor guy looks like he's had a rough life......... :(

Awww.....you guys !!! I'm feeling the love !!!!! :buzi: I always tell my family members if I don't pick on ya, I don't love ya !!! :lol: Well, I had this almost all written out and my computer froze on me and I had to shut down....... :x Sorry for not getting to your question sooner but the humidity has been ungodly here and I've been poolside with the doggies and some nice ice cold Mikes !!! 8) :drinking: (no Mikes with the kids, only on weekends !!) Kids are in bed for a nice 2 hr. nap although they will be getting up shortly (the demons !! :evil: ) and my after school kids will be descending on me and wanting pool time as well...... :fadein: Leah, I think it's great you want to adopt a JRT !!! I can see you're already used to high energy dogs, so I'm sure the Jacks won't scare you away !! They are big dogs in little packages, but are they ever worth it !!! :angel: I think a Jack would fit right into your group quite nicely !!! I know people that have B.C's and Jacks and have them in Flyball together !! They are very loving, intelligent dogs and if you aren't careful can be one step ahead of you !! :lol: My 2 aren't hyper, but I hear some can be.....mine love to snuggle and have taken over my couch and bed. Whereever I am you can rest assured there are 2 Jacks nearby if not on me !! :wink: Mine were never destructive with furniture or things like that but they have chewed apart a pink pen I left down (on my beige carpet, my fault) I basically used the redirect with something they could have and they learned very quickly...... Some say they're hard to house train too, but I found mine very quick to train. I guess it's all in what you put into it, what you get out. Same with any dog. I got my first one 4yr. ago and I will never be without one again. I've previously been a *big* dog person. I've got 2 and would have more if I lived in the country !!! If you have any more specific questions I'd be glad to answer them. Do you have anything that has his scent on it ?? Maybe let her smell something of his ?? His pillow ?? At least then she'll recognize the scent.... :wink:

Crystal, do you have any noise ordinance laws where you are ?? Like here if someone is making very loud noise past 10pm, you can get a visit from the police. :wink: I'd definitely call the Police, at the very least they can talk to the woman. Maybe then she would keep the dog in at night.

Sassy likes to lay right next to me but she doesn't like to be picked up and hugged and coddled..... Maisy and Gretchen however love the hugging and coddling......... :wink:

Sass and Maisy are both under 20lb. and they love the rain and snow... Gretchen (Lab/Rott) loves the rain/snow too.... I on the other hand do not like to stand out in the rain for long and try and hurry them up !!! :oops: Everyone gets toweled down on the back porch before they're allowed back into the house !!! Gretchen loves the towel down !!! :wink:

Really Jess, she never changes anything we bring up to her, so I don't know why she thinks we would advocate her site for anyone looking for a dog or information on dogs. Or why we would want to go look there so we can see the same old misinformation. :roll:

I just switched my Jacks over to EVO. Supposed to be the closest dog food to a raw diet. They love it !! I can get it at my local pet store but I have to order the big bag because they don't carry a large quanity of the 28lb. bags. Gretchen (Lab/Rott) is fed prescription dog food (IVD venison/Potato) only sold by the Vet with a prescription. She has food related allergies that give her horrible ear infections.
