Most performing dogs from commercials/tv/movies etc actually do come from shelters.

They'd have to put their boots on to take the dog outside. That statement just floors me. The have to put their boots on to go get the mail don't they? If a family is going to have a pet, they take on the responibility of taking care of it. If you ( used hypothetically) aren't willing to do even just the basics, you shouldn't have a pet, period. If your parents aren't willing to do something so trivial as to put their shoes on to go outside for 30 seconds, I'm wondering why the heck they even agreed to get another dog in the first place.

Is that the same as a Briard? My neighbor use to raise and show Briards. They are gorgeous. I used to help her out at shows when I was 12-14ish.

And to top it off HF, he said he had expierence with protection dogs. Wouldn't he know then that they need to be extremely well trained? At the VERY least he's looking at personal injury from being dragged around.

Ugh I saw this yesterday. I was actually sitting there yelling at the people on the tv. And then got on the computer and vented to my boyfriend. They had the "labradoodle". The kennel was , I believe in Austraila.(I missed the first 5 minutes). They made a big deal about being hypoallergenic. Grrrrrrr. But oooooh folks they come in 3 sizes now! So um yeah, why not just get a poodle? Oh yeah there is a "fussy, frilly" stigma on them. Grrrrr. They also had the Caucasian. The guy they showed was litterally gettting dragged on the ground, INTO the street by his 180lb dog that was trying to attack a car! Um training anyone? Next up was the wolfdog. One woman had 8 of them illegally and they had a guy who ran a wolf dog sanctuary. He had a great quote. "For anyone interested in getting a wolf hybrid, don't. If you want a "wolfdog" get a GSD or a husky or some other dog that looks like a wolf, not one that actually is. Hybrids aren't like dogs." They also had the Alaskan Klee Kai. I saw a huge discrepency between the types. ( Toy, Mini and Stnadard.) Theoretically they are made from American Eskimos, Siberian HUskies , Schipperkes and Alaskan Huskies. The toy ones looked like weird Chihuahua/Huskies. They had a bunch of various flyball supermutt mixes. Border Collie/Border Terrier, BC/Jack Russel, BC/ Staffie etc. For some reason I wasn't quite as appalled by these dogs as I was by the others.
