I found out the PERFECT toy for a Chinese Crested like Ben. You will never believe that. You know a milk bottle you feed babies with... They have this plastic cup on top to keep the milk from spilling in your bag or where ever you keep it. I gave one of theese cups to Ben and he LOVED it. Recently it broke (I stepped on that stupid thing... :x) and Ben had to do without a cup. Today my mom found another old cup and gave it to Ben. Now he's walking around with it in his mouth not letting ANYONE touch it. He know it's his. Story number 2: Another thing Ben thinks is fun is when I have eaten a cup of yogurt and give the cup to him after I have emptied it. Well... You know the yogurt gets stuck in the "walls" of that cup no matter what you do, so Ben thinks it's fun to lick it. No problem there, exept that the little cup is so light that it tends to move around when he tries to lick it. He was puzzled with the cup for about 5 minutes wondering what he should do to get the yogurt out. Then he had an idea. (You'll like this one.) He took the cup in his mouth, ran through the house with it so the carpets went into a little "ball" in the middle of the floor. Then he buried the cup in the carpet so the carpet was like a "cup holder" or something and just licked it clean! He thought the cup was so much fun so he had to run around with it in his mouth for a while too just for the fun of it. I took some pictures, I can post them here if you want to... /Crest

Well... I thought that people need to have one message topic where they can tell jokes and share funny pics etc. So when ever you feel blue, just come here and start cracking up.:jumpie: Deal? :bigok: I'll start with telling you guys a little story of the first couple times that I met a dog. This first one is according to my mom (we have pictures to proove it though, so trust me). One of dad's friends had a black Labrador when I was about 1 year old. At that time she was still just a pup. I had never seen a dog before [i]on our back yard[/i] so I sat down on the lawn and started stearing at that dog (you know, you have to take a good look to see if that creature is my friend or enemy), the dog understood exacly what I was getting at and started stearing back at me. According to my mom the two of us sat there about 5 meters appart from each other, stearing at eachother for about 30 minutes. After that I took a ball and threw it at the dog. (have a picture of that) But she didn't seem to be too interested, but I guess that was the first time I fell in love with dogs. Then this one I remember myself... My neighbourgh used to have a big St. Bernard boy and I LOVED that dog. One day I asked the neighbough if I could take him out for a walk. He was a bit starteld by that, because the dog was bigger then me (I wasn't even in school then, so I must have been about 5-6 years old). With a little convinceing I got to take him on a walk (I didn't tell my parents though). We had gone about a half of the little walk we went on when we passed a house with a lady in about her 50's in her backyard. Her face went all white, her eyes got big(:o) and her jaw fell down (:eek3:) when she saw the two of us. The two of us started talking and she wonderd what I was doing with such a big dog. I remember I anwserd that "he's a nice doggy". At the same time I guess the "nice doggy" got tired of beeing in one place so he got up on his back leggs and put his big front paws on my back. I nearly fell down on my stomache and took a quick look at the lady who's face started to look a bit blue at this time and started to shake (I guess she was cold) and I started to laugh. Little me giggled on the ground for a while and the lady was like frozen on her back yard. Then I told the doggy to get off (while giggeling) and he did that while wagging his tail at the same time. I got up and said bye to the lady (who was still too shocked to anwser) and took the dog home. When I got home I told my mom and dad what had happend and they made me promise to never take him out on a walk again. (Well you can imagine what would have happend if he had seen something somewhere and started running towards that something. Not much I could have done...) So that's what happend... I had another funny encounter with a St. Bernard when I was about 1 year old, but I guess you're sleeping by now (I know I'm not the best storyteller) so I'll spare you. I do agree with you on that efforts should be concentrated on educating irresponsible breeders. No one knows with a 100% certanty the Chinese Cresteds history, BUT I do know that even if the Chinese Crested was a mixed breed someday in the past, that past was several hundred years in the past, so no, I don't have any evidence that Chinese Cresteds are not inbred. If you search for articles on the history of Chinese Crested you will find evidence of Chinese Cresteds in year 1400 and they are probabely even older then that. But the breed is ATLEAST 600 years old. So... If you look at the Chinese Crested as a result of 600 years of breeding and then look at the poo and oodle dogs, you can't even compare them. Think of it... Let's say I would have a... Bichon Havanaise and a hairless Chinese Crested, both of opposite sexes and both sexually active (not neuterd or spayed). Let's say there was a misstake and they got puppies. Now I would start searching for homes for them. Now here's two examples: [u][i][b]Irresponsible breeder[/b][/i][/u]: Will get more money by marketing the puppies as purebred hairless Havanaises and telling people they are a new breed. Ok. New breed created! [u][i][b]Responsible[/b][/i][/u]: Doesn't care about how much money he or she will make. Tells the buyer that the puppies are a crossing between a hairless Chinese Crested and a Havanaise and that you will sell them for practicly no money at all. And still see to it that the puppies have a good life and are treated well no matter if they are 7 weeks or 15 years old. Ok. So the irresponsible made a new breed. That's how easy it is. Right? So anyone could make up new breeds, wouldn't that be a lot easier? I don't think the FCI or anyone else will tolerate everyone makeing up new breeds by just mixing their favourite dogs of diffirent breeds together. ...just something to think about... /Crest
