The Dobe national is a very big deal....10 solid days of showing, agility obedience and all kinds of stuff. There are hundreds of Dobes in competiton! Whit's breeder is getting set to do a major revision of her website. I've given her a bunch of new photos for Mason.....stuff that I don't have on my site. Ok then, I'll make the tick pic a link, so that people who don't want to see it don't hafto.. :D Thank you so much for caring Angel! :angel: I'm sure Rowie feels the love and caring from all of you... Well, she's sleeping right now the little :angel: ! I just checked up on her..my baby! Hmmm, wait, you could say she's an angel with a dirty face! :lol: (Got that from a song). Not that her face is dirty, it's just that she's sometimes an angel, and then she's suddenly this: :evilbat: :lol: One thing that still mystifies(sp?) me. Rowie is a Golden as all of you know. You all know Glodens are GREAT and VERY patient with kids. Sadly, Rowie's previouse owner got her when she was a MONTH old! :o That's why she nips, and is overly hyper and destructive. She never had alot of socialization, I'm slowly helping her... :D Anyways, Rowie was SOOOO hyper when we got to the vets, and there was this little girl of about 5, she was the cutest little angel! Anyways, she had two kittens there, and when she was Rowie, went up to say hello. Now Rowie was VERY hyper, and I was scared she might jump on the girl and frighten her. When the giril came, she sat down next to Rowie and started petting her. Now, Rowie suddenly went from an overly hyper puppy, to a mature, quiet dog. I was soooo surprised! I mean, she always does that, but everytime I see her do that, it warms up my heart. Then Rowie gave her her paw ( typical :roll:) and started licking her face! :angel: Awww! Then I said:"Good Girl Rowie" and the girl intoduced me to her two kittens rescued from the BSPCA(Bahrain Society of Preventation of Cruelty to Animals). It made me smile knowing that such a young girl was already adopting from a rescue... :D

I HUGGED the Frontline! All my stress, it just, dissapeared! :o I was so happy! Then at home, I read the insrtuctions a few times, then applied it. Rowie's still in the Swimming Pool bathroom :cry: but I went out and played with her alot today, plus she has her two walks to look forward to. :D Oh, and I also parted Rowie's fur and took pics of the YUCKY ticks for you all, to show you how yucky it was! So I bought some and applied it already! YEAH! Bye bye ticks! :D :D Rowie's still in the swimming pool bathroom.. :cry: They can't board her there unless she's tick-free... :( Ok, a couple of Q's: The idiot vet (the last one) gave me some medicines. None have labels, thier in WATER BOTTLES. The shampoo and cream are in a jar. I brough the medicine with me, and showed it to the assistant. She told me that I would hafto choose between Frontline and the medicine the other vet gave me. You know what I chose! :roll: So, do you think it's OK that I switched to Frontline? I can't get anything else... And, the other vet said I should go over after 10 days so Rowie could get ANOTHER injection...should I still go?! :-? Thanks guys, sorry this isn't detailed. Thank you StarFox! :D Well, she has a shampoo,and a cream that she needs to apply after shampooing that we need to use twice a week. Then a spray everyday. Ok, so that's not alot, but it's confusing! :oops: My mom is still not back so we still didn't go to Dr.Nouni's... :x Urgh, I'm tired of waiting! I really wanna go! They told me they'll apply some medicine, but I'll take the medicine Rowie is already using and show it to them and see what they say... We can't do anything right now exept tie Rowie up in our swimming pool's bathroom... :cry: PLEASE don't hate me! My mom won't allow Rowie inside cuz of the ticks. "They'll get in our food!" yadda..yadda...yadda... :roll: She has fresh water there, and a tub full of water if she's hot. ALL her toys and even her bed. She's not happy, I must confess, but I am with her most of the time. I brushed her fur this morning to get dead ticks out of her fur(the medicine seems to be working) and am glad to say I succesfully killed a tick! :D There was a HUGE blood filled tick on the wall, I scooped it up into a bucket, then flushed it down the tiolet! Yeah! The ticks are slowly dying and getting less and less. Hopefully today at Dr.Nouni's she'll provide some help! I think we're going to board Rowie there until the garden is tick-free. Then when she comes back, hopefully everything will be back to normal.. And my grandfather is leaving soon I think.... :D I'll miss hom tho.... :cry: Just a question: The vet (without even TELLING me! :x) gave Rowie an injection...I asked her what it was for, and she said the ticks would fall off because of this injection and die. WTF? I've never heard of such an injection?! :-? NEVER again will I go to that vets... Thank you all! :angel: (BTW, I'll try and talk my mom into ordering Advantix, hopfeully, she will allow it! She's stressed to the max..)

The vet showed me how to remove ticks safely(I was surprised she knew how to do that! :roll:) And told me to check Rowie every morning for ticks, or she'll get re-infected. I already bought some tweezers for the removal... I'm switching to Dr.Nouni for sure now! Did you check out her website? Cool huh? Oh god! The smilies are coming back! I feel so much better talking to you guys! :D About my uncle, yea, I guess we should keep it to PM's... I really don't wanna upset people! :( I had alot to say but forgot now! :-? Eek! I just re-read my post! LOADS of spelling mistakes! Sorry! And my post has NO POINT I guess.... It's pretty late here... I've been stressed all day, I hope my mom will keep me from school! I havent had a wink of sleep lately, due to exams, but mostly Rowie.... Geez, I feel like the worst person in the world... :( My mom just came over and gave me a BIG hug, and said:"Meme(my nickname) hunny, don't be sad! We're doing all in our power to help Rowie. You can't do this to yourself! Remember, what is meant to be is meant to be, and if something happens, it's God's will..." I was fine until the "what is meant to be is mean to be"....now I have it in my head the Rowie is going to die! :cry: Am I being a bit baby-ish? :-? I hate my life...

Where should I start? I'm sorry I keep posting a new topic about this stupid tick thing, but I wanna make sure you all see it.... :-? Well, yesterday as I was playing with Rowie, I noticed a tick on her back(the only place with long hair still left) so I decided to brush it off. I got the brush, and noticed some more. No big deal, I thought, so I started brushong some more. Now I was starting to worry... Then I got this flea spray, even though it was a flea spray, I though MAYBE it would help, so the instructions say to brush the dogs fur the wrong way, so I was when... Oh, I don't want to think about it! Ticks by the zillions, all bunched up, some dead, some BIG, some tiny, some crawling, some doing whatever... It was tick city I tell you! Well, I covered my mouth, trying not to scream, I knew that if I got stressed, Rowie would get stressed. So I just finished spreaying her, and then went inside. Well, I'm pretty shy you see, but the first thing I did after washing my hands was to call the vet. Usually my mom calls the vet, or I take myime since I'm so shy(I'm shy due to some things that happened to me during my childhood, it's mentioned later in this post). But the first thing I did was call the vet! I told her about the problem, she told me to come over the next day to remove as many ticks as she can, and then apply some medicine. So today (which is the next day) I took Rowie over to the vets. Well, I showed the STUPID (notice the stupid) vet the ticks. She called two of her assistants and they did all the work. They removed about 3 quarters of tht ticks on her back. I asked them to cut her nails while they where at it, since last time, they didn't, even when I specifaccly(sp?) asked them to. Well, then she gave me a bunch of medicines and shampoos, and sprays, and creams. I should apply this once a week, that everyday! Luckly, I wrote it all down.. Why is the vet stupid? Well, first off, she knows NOTHING about dogs, and that is wierd, because she is a VET. When I told her about my problem with my grandfather and all, she said:"Well, labs are inside dogs..." I corrected her :"She's a Golden" Then, she asked me how many times I showered Rowie. Well, I told her:"Well, since she's a Golden, and has a double coat, a double oily coat I mean, I shower her in the begining of the summer, and the end of summer. When she's dirty I just rub her down or hose her down." Vets response? "What? No honey, you should give her a bath [i]every day[/i]! It's hot out there!' I answered:" But then all her natural oils will be gone! Besides, that's what her previuose owner told me to do! And I know the Golden breed, I've been researching for years!" She had the NERVE to actually tell me I was wrong! "No honey, that's what they do in thier country! In Bahrain, we need to shower our doggies every day OK?" OMD! UGH! She got on my NERVES! I didn't answer her... She's Egyptian, but WOW she was rude! And what the F!@#$$ did she mean THIER country? Does she mean the UK? I was born in the UK, that's where my breed was created, she has the nerve to say THIER country?! :evil: D****! Sorry I'm so pissed off! So, I go back home for only MORE stress! We needed to keep Rowie somehwere while they sprayed the garden, but since she has ticks, my mom said NO to her coming back in with us! I was sooo mad! So I started screaming and yelling, and my mom just got more and more mad. And she started yelling about how she's been wasting ALOT of money on Rowie. I told her that was what we agreed on when agreeing on getting a new additin to our family. Well, this continued for alot of time. Then we called the vet(Ok, she called the vet :roll:) and asked if we could Board Rowie there until we sprayed the garden and it's tick free. Alot of confusion it seems! My mother was so stressed and confused, and the vets assistant wasn't clear about everything. The vet's assistant kept saying "wait a second ma'am" and then kept her waiting for 5 min! And then when she hung up, and I told her about the vet and what she said about Rowie's breed and THIER country, my mom suggested taking Rowie to Dr.Nouni Coutts (her website here, she's great! [url]http://www.noniecoutts.com/[/url]) We spayed Rowie there, so I know how great she is! She's really sweet and all. So I called(again weird for me because I'm really shy) and told them about Rowie's infection and the other vets giving us meds and stuff. They told us to come tomorow, so hopefully everything will go well. Sorry about all this rambling! Ok, now for why I'm shy. When I was little, I had a favorite uncle(my mom's bro). He was great! He lived with us (still very young) and I was with him EVERY SINGLE DAY! He was a father to me. He taught me so much! I loved him dearly. Then one day when I was four years old, my mom picked me up from my friends house, and I remember telling myself:"Wait until Uncle hears abut this!" When we got back home it was dark, and my mom was calling my uncle, he didn't reply, so my mom got worried. We went into his room, and it was dark. My mom switched it on, and there was my uncle, laying on the floor, dead. My mom screamed, and told me to find help, well I did.I called my neighbors, they helped, while my mom called the hospital and my dad. The ambulance came, and that was the last I saw of him. I slept over at my friends until my parents came back. Here's the worst thing. When I saw my uncle laying there on the floor, I didn't cry. I held it all in like a "big girl" should. I want you to imagine being only four years old, and seeing a real dead person, not only that, but the person you loved most in the world. But I didn't cry, and I never cried. I just kept it all in, ready to explode at any moment. My mom talked about him all the time, wanted me to talk about his death, but I never did want to. I shoved it away, ignored it, tried to hide from it. I NEVER EVER CRIED about him until today, this is the first time in my life I've cried about his death, and it feels so good. The feeling that Rowie was in danger, that her life was in my hands, that she needed me to live, that she was almost going to die, it just woke me up to the fact. I've never cried about my uncle or really cared about someone either. Rowie woke me up, woke me up from this horrible world. And oh god I'm crying... So the reason I'm shy is, I never really had a "man" for me, and niether has my bro. My dad is always away on work, so I never get to see him that much. So my bro is really shy. I'm shy, I guess because of my uncles death, and because of me pushing everything away. I don't really know the point of this....but you guys are my counsellers... I also saw the film "Rumors of Angels" today. Oh GOD! That little boy, he was the same as me! During the film my heart was BANGING! Never has a film touched me so much... So, today I'm pretty bummed out, notice the lack of smilies in my posts...very unusual for me... :-? Sorry for rambling, does this post make sense? :cry: :cry: :cry: So sad! :bigcry: I agree, both where idiots! :evil: Once I noticed Rowie was chewing something, and that it took her a long time to swallow it.... I checker and found out that she was chewing GUM! :o I was so shocked! I took it and threw it, then called my vet. She said it was OK, as long as she didn't eat it. After that I called the whole household and tould them what could happen if Rowie had swallowed the gum, and asked them if they where chewing gum. Turns out our gardner thought it was OK to throw his gum in the garden, and that it was safe for dogs! :x People these days! :roll:
