Multiple Fathers

A woman can't be impregnated by more than one man at a time :o... don't ask me how I know this  A joke: A local girl from Broadmeadows (insert your own drongo suburb here) goes to Centrelink to register for child care benefits. "How many children?" "Ten." "Ten?!" says the council worker. "What are their names?" "Wayne, Wayne, Wayne, Wayne, Wayne, Wayne, Wayne, Wayne, Wayne and Wayne." "Doesn't that get confusing?" "Nahhh..." says the Broady girl, "it's great because if they're out playing in the street I just have to yell "WAAYNE, YER DINNER'S READY" or "WAAAYNE, GO TO BED NOW' and they all do it." "What if you want to speak to one individually?" asks the peturbed council worker. "That's easy," says the Broady girl. "I just use their surnames."
3. Good for you and good for Lily. What about Tessa though? :-?
4. How long has she been "sad" for? Maybe she is sick or something and trying to hide it? :( I can't think of anything else, I suppose dogs can get depressed but I wouldn't know for sure.
5. You won't find any sheep there
6.
7. Great idea :) . The hostel/nursing home where my nan is has a Spaniel of some type as the resident dog (it gets spoiled rotten by all the oldies). I'm not sure of its living arrangements though, it belongs to the co-ordinator of the place so don't know if it goes home each night or stays around. I think there are some dogs that just *know* that there are frail people or little children around and they behave accordingly (Blitz, who is hyper most of the time, is great with old people and kids). Good luck and let us know how you get on. 8)
8. Sorry, I forgot to ask: deafness can be produced even with responsible breeding, can't it? Maybe a bit like if you're pregnant and do everything right and you have a baby who is deaf or something. :( (I am not trying to discriminate against deaf people or anything, but just using deafness as an example.)
9. Hi Wildbunch and welcome. :D The genetic complications of colouring are but one reason why BYBs should be outlawed. I know that you can have deaf dogs and it can work out well (ACDs and Dals I know there are quite a few of) but if you can give the dog its hearing by breeding correctly, then why not do it? Deafness has a lot more negative qualities than positive ones, I think with deaf Dals they used to (and probably still do) humanely destroy the deaf puppies. I so agree that you shouldn't discriminate against a dog because of its colour! :fadein:
10. That's great that they can still be used in every way apart from breeding. I really like the blue colouring in many different dog breeds. :)
11. :( That's pretty bad. The blue GSDs would still be ok as pets wouldn't they? If you sold them spayed/neutered so they couldn't be bred from...?
12. thanks :D So... with the GSDs that carry the gene, do they cull all the puppies or just the ones who have the markings...? (sorry, just a bit confused) :-?
13. *shudder* I am very glad I live down south- we don't have funnelweb or trapdoor spiders here, it's too cold for them or something. :o Do you have white-tails in the US/Europe? They are small but NASTY, I know someone who got bitten by one over 10 yrs ago and she still has problems with her leg, it gets all swollen and purply. My great auntie used to keep huntsmans in her kitchen and let them crawl up and down her arms!! (ok, i know they're harmless, but they LOOK deadly and hairy and everything.)
14. that's REALLY WEIRD... I am so a member LOL unless you use lower case? bklittleangel?
15. I am confused. How do I join your guild?? :-?
16. shannon, the link doesn't appear to work?
17. Yay! Just when I was beginning to wonder if the Dachshund was used as anything but a draft stopper and a Hoover... http://www.teckelclub.org/whoarewe.htm I tend to forget that they used to hunt!!!!!!!!

A weird question..

Well said Guest Pat... Bliss, I agree that no dog should be bred unless it is for the betterment of the breed and certainly not without all the research under the sun. It's not a toy factory, it's life you're creating and responsible for. Your dog, however cute she may be, doesn't sound like a good candidate for this. That's the way it is.
19.
20. I'm getting there Shannon! :drinking: Thanks!
21. LOL I can see it now, "oooh I never have to go outside again!"

24. That's so sad. At least now she has a good home where she will be doted on (hee hee) and never sent away from... I hope everything goes well for both of you, she has a new lease of life now! Hope to have regular updates on her progress. :) Does she have a name yet? (ie. did she come with a name or was she so neglected her owner didn't give her one?)
