1. K, your dogs are so beautiful. Saints aren't that common here, probably (I am guessing) because it is WAY too hot in the summer, spring (it's 33C here and late spring) and the first 6wks of autumn (fall). I would love to see one in the flesh one day! (the closest I have come is a Bernese Mountain Dog) :)
2. Good one Carol, I like Mousse/Moose too :D
3.
I visited that site Goo, and this just happened to be the very first post I stumbled across http://www.gironet.nl/home/collie2/valiant.htm

4. What absolutely beautiful dogs you have Nancy :) Welcome! 8)
5.
BK once a week?? :o I have to do "Poo Patrol" twice a day :o
LOL, I thought BK pooed a LOT but nothing compared to a Saint. :D We have a biggish yard as well, so more places for him to poo...
6. Yeah Mei-Mei I completely understand where you're coming from, I also feel that telling other countries or even other people what not to eat is wrong. What I DON'T like is that all too often the animals being killed for human consumption are not treated with the humanity and respect they deserve. :x We should be more like the Native Americans Hobbit mentioned, how logistically impossible is it when there are some shelters that gas pets instead of lethal injection, let alone an abbatoir taking the time to consider the feelings of cattle/sheep/pigs etc. But oh how nice it would be. BTW am still trying to do my research on the gardener!
7. So I've heard, Shibas are quite the escape artists aren't they, all I need is another Houdini (I can see it now- BK knocks DOWN the fence and Shiba and he run off into the sunset  )... I keep looking at the RSPCA site where they have dogs up for adoption even though I really am not going to get another dog until a) BK is settled in and b) I know that I'm able to look after them until they die, and as I've just moved out of home who knows how long I will be here etc etc. and renting is hard for pet owners here. So as much as I would like to, I know that I shouldn't get another dog for the dog's sake. :( But oh how I would like to!!!!!
8. Really Gigi, I hadn't noticed :P There was a Shiba advertised in the paper the other day but I can't remember how much it was, not that I should really get another dog nor buy one from the paper but it was cute.
9. Gigi, I think the Kelpie IS a pup, well definitely not full grown :D Better get Hobbit to confirm it in case I am wrong! But it looks quite young. I suppose you can get goats in all sizes too? I don't know though, I'm not a "goat person" though wouldn't mind one to do the weeding ;)
10. I think I got stuck on PageFinder too Rowie :( wish I could help you... I have a mate who has a page, I think he might be able to tell me what to do so I can tell you (tomorrow? is that ok? it's 1am here!)... If he can help I will PM you if you're still stuck tomorrow. :)
11. Thanks Gig, I thought it probably was but wanted to make sure :( Go on Corgi, you know you want to... :D
12. What a powerful and moving speech. Thank you K for posting that.
13. Yay! That's great. Go K! :D
14. Does HW stand for Heartworm or something else? :x Some people should never be allowed to own dogs. How could anyone abandon their dog like that? (well, I guess at least she didn't just let it out on the street, but still... )
15. Thanks Corgi, the site, while upsetting, is very good, I am going to post this link to my friends,. :)
16.
bk ever heeler around here (and there are alot working farms) has a docked tail! :o
17. Hi Rowie, who is your Internet Service Provider (ISP)? When you buy your internet connection I think you usually get some space so you can make your own site. Yahoo! Geocities is free if you want to put up with all the ads, I had one once and it didn't cost me anything... ummmm I can't think of any others but try the ISP option first. :)
18. What about Ovaltine? Or Milo? :D Or you could go with a German name like Bismarck or Tier or Otto or something...? Or LB- Little B*stard (knowing doxies as I do, this is what it will turn out to be
19. It's an swful lot of legislation but might be the way to go, if every piddling little detail is defined, if it helps alleviate cruelty, then that's what should be done. I know that if I worked in an abbatoir I would turn vegetarian overnight, I had a friend who worked in their office and he didn't last very long because it was pretty gross. I think halal killings (Muslims do this) involve the cow's throat being slit and it dying slowly while it gets blessed or something, apparently having your throat cut is not that painful? (not that I really want to find out). Conventional abbatoirs use a shotgun don't they? Anything that is quick and painless is how it should be done, what I don't like about abbatoirs or what I've read of them is the cattle lining up waiting to be shot, not wanting to anthropomorphise here but surely they must know somehow what's going to happen to them? :(
20. Thanks Rowie :) I guess cream is the proper name for white gold?
21.   What a vicious herding dog your sister has... :D I remember one time a few years ago it was a hot rainy summer night and Blitz had bailed up a possum up in a gum tree, it was about 3-4m off the ground and he was on the ground barking his head off and squeaking in excitement. It wouldn't move at all and every time it did BK was there going insane, every time we did try to keep him back up on the verandah (so the poss had a chance to escape) he would wriggle away and sprint down the yard again, this is all in a horrible downpour of rain BTW, finally the possum managed to get away but he was so wound up he stayed at the tree, in the rain, all night waiting for it to come back
22. BK used to just cock his leg and be done with it, when Rinny came along he began copying his methodology and now pees and scratches the grass or dirt all over the place, at the park it is very embarrassing as he enthusiastically digs up half the lawn and one day he will tear a hamstring doing it. :D He shuffles along as he poos too! He can't poo in one spot, he has to move while doing it so there is always a little trail of poo about 1ft long. I do poo patrol weekly (when it's dried out), I pick it up using 2 empty dog food cans, put the poo in a plastic bag and put it in the bin. BK also pees where he wants when he wants, too bad if there is another dog in the way... Rinny used to get peed on all the time if we were out walking!! BK also peed on this little white Bichon Frise at obedience last week, he found something he wanted to pee on in the grass and he did, the poor Bichon was in the way and had a yellow patch on his face which his owner washed off quicksmart (she thought it was quite funny)
23. Oooh I like Shibas, they look like little fox cubs :D
24. Yeah, duck is delicious... but would have a hard time eating it if I had one for a pet!!!! It is bad enough with kangaroo kebabs, roast Skippy and all that (but roo is rather tasty)
25. :D Thanks. Expect to see one on my sig soon... I hope...
