1. HOLY CRAP my Malina is gonna go NUTS when I show her that pei, I can practically already hear the high pitched squeel
2. hehe, I figured the perpitrator would be nipped and "herded" out
3. well I dont understand, becasue we have 1000 differant diets for like 5 kinds of people of varying activity levels why wouldnt dogs be the same? If I fed a Neo a commercial food and all he does is sit around the house every day except a short 45min walk in the evening, how could that same food Adequately and optimaly feed an AB that puts in a good 4 hour run every day and only holds still to eat and poop? And besides if you start with balance and then tweeck to achieve specifics, like muscle mass or stronger bones or energy levels wouldnt that just be like me on my Atkins diet every 6 months? Or what if the dog is ill or showing signs of illness wouldnt it be appropriate to up his vitamin C E and Garlic intake? Or a much bigger thought, If I go for a "just shy of" summit run up mount Rainier I take Ginko and St Johns wort for AMS I would expect to give my dog the same, I wouldnt want him to get sick either. I dont understand, could you explain it to me?
4. I havent even been able to start yet, there are some variables that I've been working on but depending on a few student loans, It will take either 24 months or 14, so I'm shooting for the 14 but I have to make some banks happy with me again  I have been looking into alot of specialty units I want to do them all but the top five are K9, SWAT Sniper, SWAT Entry, Homicide and tactical trainer for spec. teams. Im leaning more towards the sniper and training positions but I also really want to do K9.....I dunno yet, just to much fun stuff out there
5. wow I read right over that, yeah why would you oppose a run line and advocate a box? you are starting to sound like Egg . Rowie IMO our dogs (Goldens) really need their space, mine have a run with a roof that they live in together and are quite happy in it. but I would NEVER leave my dogs in a box the only time I feel its ever acceptable to "box" a dog is on a plane, and I HATE it when Oscar and Nikki are on planes! I think we as people forget that these animals arent just here for our amussement they are animals that have certain needs. Free roam and space are definatly on top of their needs list. I'll bet Hobbits dogs would maim him if he left them in a crate
6. so at what point is a dog a giant, or is it more by breed? my goal is a big AB thats pushing 120# would that be giant?
in some cases, the canine ones are not "strong" enough.
I'm good friends with a bunch of proffesional body builders and power lifters and they have this problem with "human" supplements too  so what they do is go to the vet and pick up the multi vitamin "cartrages" for horses they are like a paper towl tube sized syringe minus the needle. Anyway they freeze the liquid and suck on 'em all day during workouts, YUCK! anyway, would it be okay to feed my dog on wellness and then throw them a steak, chicken or pork whenever I eat em? can I pass out all a pill everytime I take my daily vitamins and have my dog taking the exact same stuff in the same amount at the same time as me? and for the pill to be effective I should probably crush it because of track length huh? my goal here is to do everything with my dog, ride, run, hike, swim....etc and then basically eat drink and supplement exactly the same, kinda like holding eachother accountable to be healthy
7. yeah she was here before you and I think right after mary, god I'm glad that little era is over  no prob Rowie :D sometimes we miss stuff
8. kylie said,
...they have 5 or 6 pitbulls...I dont want my neighbors dogs coming over here becouse the might not leave alive...
I want to throw something in, if they have 6 and you have 2 chances are its not their dogs that will be lifeless after the meeting of the two packs. I dont care how bada$s your dogs are 1 on 3 arent good odds. it sounds like your neighbor doesnt really care a whole lot about your problem so I would tend to say something that would make them care, "if your dog lays a foot in my yard it gets a 12 gauge slug into its skull, by the way welcome to the neighborhood" or "I have posted a sign and told the local PD and if I feel threatend by your dog or if its on my property I'll shoot it for my and/or my dogs protection" I know a lawyer that deals in contracts so if I were you I might have him write up an affidavit releasing you from civil judgement for the defensive slaying of their dogs, just a thought :D
9. Amen sista  I've been reading on this site that hobbit gave me, which is simply freakin awsome by the way, he has a really good article on dog parks http://leerburg.com/
10. well, my missionary buddies are no where to be found but I just thought of another couple I think live over there so I'll check into it and Rowie you obviously dont know what your talking about http://forum.dogomania.com/viewtopic.php?t=1613&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=15 go here read the first 5 posts and then tell me no one thought she was a troll
11. Newfie, re reading my posts I hope I dont sound snotty I am really curious about a few specifics and have put off asking you for quite some time, I hope you dont mind :D. So when your talking too much protein and calcuim is that just through puppyhood during their accelerated growth periods or all through life? Is there any arguement against using people supplements for dogs? and last question  Say I had an AB, thats not really a Giant breed, and they are really muscular, so would I give him a 2:1 calcium protein diet so that the muscle doesnt out grow the bone, or would I wait until he was like 3 years old till I started him into alot of calcium and protein? Before now I planned on feeding him alot of both
12. just curious, why arent you big on calcium? do you supplement in pill form then? or do you not feel the need? oh by the way Ive always wondered, can I supplement useing human supplements?
13. newfie, what about ground or broken up raw bones would that still be bad?
14. we've got a couple off leash parks here but I'm to scared of them to take my dogs there. I'm more afraid of myself if a dog got into a fight with mine more than the other way around. I would really like to participate in them though. There is one thats on the top of a good 10 or 15 minute hike that I have considered taking the dogs to but I'm just a bit shy. When I get my AB and whatever else I finally settle on  I'm definatly going to do formal training and see if that changes my mind about going to the parks. But what would you guys do if one your dogs was attacked and the ignorant owner didnt feel it was his fault? if I had an AB I'll bet 10 to 1 if the owner ever so slightly attested his guilt it would automatically be my fault no questions asked. not to mention if it was a crazy abused pit or some other "born to fight" dog if I felt my dogs life was really in danger I'd shoot to kill and wouldnt miss, I dont even know if that is a justified reason to disscharge a weapon in most areas around here. Off leash dog parks are a dangerous thing
15. depends on which side of the state you are on. we are the only state in the union that has every climate on earth, Desert, Rainforst, Arctic, evergreen forset, and so on if you were in eastern WA a normal summer day will be 100-110 degrees but if your closer to Seattle on the west side of the mountains a summer day will USUALLY top out at 75 Although lately its been kinda fluckie and the west side did have a couple days in the 80s

Dog Bites

I think I've told my dog bite story a couple times before so I'll just give a short version this "challenged" kid's Dad managed to get a police dog off of doggie death row for killing a criminal or something and gave the dog to the kid because he was getting beat up on an almost daily basis. Me and my brother were friends with the kid and he used to come to the park behind my house. My brother was play fighting the thing right before I went up to pet it (it was first time the kid took it outside) upon my approach it leaped up and flattened me locked on my right bicep and just tore in. I was only like 8 or 9 at the time so I thought I was gonna die. Anyway I was afraid of all dogs but my own for like a year or two. I still have a GSD jaw line that runs up my right arm to. honestly I dont really fear dogs either, unless its crazy looking or its an akita. but even then if it really came down to it I'd beat the sh!t out of a dog if it attacked me, my dog or a family member
21.
I still think deep should be castrated
It wont help it would just make me bitter
I DID NOT THINK YOU A TROLL I felt that was uncalled for and think many others agree.
I was not calling her a troll. I was reminding her that her situation with Duck was so bad and "set for failure" we (I was the LAST) thought she was a TROLL trying to stir the pot! I realise Egg is not a bad person she is just doing what she feels is right. Maybe you should all review what we told her when Duck was 6 weeks old and Egg came to us for help, http://forum.dogomania.com/viewtopic.php?t=1613&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 from the very start this was a bad match up doomed to for catastrophy we told her then and we tell her now. We predicted the poop and potty problems as well as the hyperactivity Egg has yet to see and the bad behavior associated with NO SOCIALISATION that also has yet to develop. This is bad no matter how you look at it, I dont care if she gives the dog hickies every time she comes home, A LAB DOES NOT BELONG IN A BOX IT IS NOT A TOY if Egg would just say "hey I was wrong to bring this animal here, I need help finding a better place" I'd lay off and do my best to find a home for duck
22. oh yeah! I'm suprised that presas havent surpassed pits yet, I figure the pits have had the hot seat for quite awhile its about time for a change. I figured 2 days after the whipple killing every gun toting thug west of the mississippi would have one
23. wow :o I wasnt expecting that when I started to read, are the dogs still around? or were they put down? This is a really sad story goo, I will always remember it when I see dogs with little kids
24. oh smoosh cross post those pics I gotta see that!
Yellow Lab and Jack Russell Terrier
I dont even see how these are possible  maybe the JRT was on a stool
