we'll just have to agree to disagree. And as much as we disagree, I am simply saying I am tired (as is everyone else I think) of the continual sniping that has been going on here....be it by guests, or members posing as guests. I too hope that was just a joke.

hug them both for me, and tell them they have truly helped perform a miracle. I hope all the puppies find good homes, with loving families like your parents.

let me throw another log on the fire..... dogs are NOT wolves, wolves are NOT dogs. However, back in the way-begone-days, wolves CHOSE (there is no evidence they were forced. by all the records they CHOSE) to come live with US. They realized that our fires, and our food, and our companionship was much more to their liking then cold, starvation and death. They didnt have to do that. No one made them do it. Dogs, like people, (well, most people anyway) are gregarious and sociable. They realized early on that pack living helped them survive. So nature provided them with the means to be sociable, to live together, to develop rules to live by (pack rules) that benefited them all. Nothing in nature is haphazard. This is an animal who, by nature, requires a sociable, pack environment. Come today...most people (HF excepted, of course...  ) dont have dog "packs" in their homes. But the dog is still a pack animal. He has allowed his people to become his "pack"...In a real pack, wolves left outside of the pack "family" die. They are outcasts. I did a thesis on wolves in college, and while alot of the thinking has changed, this piece has not. Dogs still require their family to be their pack. They are loving, sociable animals. Unlike wild cats, they are not meant to live alone. So chain them out? no human contact" they want to live outdoors? maybe, if their family pack was outdoors with them. Dogs make great camping companions. But alone. outside, by themselves? No. they prefer to be in, where their family is. I have a huge, fenced yard. They could both live out there indefinitely. Do they want to? No. If I'm not out there with them, they will play for a while, and then want in. With me. If I'd stay out there with them 24/7 I'm sure they'd be ok. Theres two of them, they are not alone. They still want in.

well, I guess there IS one about food. I never heard of that one... heres the link for the book http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1558747109/104-1564995-8443167?v=glance and heres the one for the food http://www.chickensoupforthepetloverssoul.com/

It's one of a series that started with "chicken soup for the soul"...it's not really about food, but about emotional crises that can be handled without drugs and such. It's kinda like an inner-mind revelation, about how to handle day to day problems with "chicken soup"...it was always an old wives tail that chicken soup would help cure a cold, until it was discovered that the cooking of the soup actually released natural chemicals that WOULD help fight off a cold. I havent read the books, but my guess would be the one for dogs is also a revelation of natural handling and emotional things.

what was THAT all about? While I dont always agree with Primrose either, this particular post was not demeaning, menacing or even slightly bad..... and by the way. STALKING IS NOT ALLOWED HERE....

Laurel's foster mom sent me this. You've all seen the quotes, but I included them anyway. I just got this, it's the same as the rules for foxhounds.. > > Subject: Dog Rules > > 1. Dogs are never permitted in the house. The dog stays outside in a > specially built wooden compartment named, for very good reason, the dog house. > > 2. Okay, the dog can enter the house, but only for short visits or if his own > house is under renovation. > > 3. Okay, the dog can stay in the house on a permanent basis, provided his dog > house can be sold in a yard sale to a rookie dog owner. > > 4. Inside the house, the dog is not allowed to run free and is confined to a > comfortable but secure metal cage. > > 5. Okay, the cage becomes part of a two-for-one deal along with the dog house > in the yard sale, and the dog can go wherever the hell he pleases. > > 6. The dog is never allowed on the furniture. > > 7. Okay, the dog can get on the old furniture but not the new furniture. > > 8. Okay, the dog can get up on the new furniture until it looks like the old > furniture and then we'll sell the whole damn works and buy new > furniture...upon which the dog will most definitely not be allowed. > > 9. The dog never sleeps on the bed. Period. > > 10. Okay, the dog can sleep at the foot of the bed. > > 11. Okay, the dog can sleep along side you, but he's not allowed under the > covers. > > 12. Okay, the dog can sleep under the covers but not with his head on the > pillow. > > 13. Okay, the dog can sleep along side you under the covers with his head on > the pillow, but if he snores he's got to leave the room. > > 14. Okay, the dog can sleep and snore and have nightmares in bed, but he's > not to come in and sleep on the couch in the TV room, where I'm now sleeping. > That's just not fair. > > 15. thanks SOOO much everyone!!!    Honestly, I dont think it's me, I think it's THEM....Laurel is so gentle, and still a little timid, but she has her moments. Freebee is so full of herself, but with Laurel's "guidance" has chilled out a lot. I think they're training each other. I'm just "supervising".....    I'm glad you all think we three are doing a good job... 8)

I think it rocks!! theres a grooming place by where I work called "Chez Paws"....I always thought that was cute. for anyone who may not know, "Chez Paul's" is an exclusive, expensive french restaurant (my french is a little rusty, I think it means "Paul's House) so Paws House is kinda cute.... :D :D
