Those lucky people are meeting in Iowa. I wish I could go. 19lbs sounds about right for a 6 month old. My BC's are 40 and 50 lbs. Oddly enough, my female is the bigger of the two.

Knowing a little about Border Collies, I would say that there is definately BC in her. She is a very cute dog.

Sounds like that girl needs a good spanking. Now why do you allow her to be so mean to that poor dog? I can't tell you what I would do to ANY human that abused my dogs like that.

My dogs are left alone for 14 hours a day but they are in a kennel run complete with dog houses toys and water. I am thinking of giving them a TV. My concerne with your situation is the potty thing, and boredom. My dogs can't last that long without having to go potty and they would rip to shreds anything that can't run from them. :wink:

I was just sitting here outside watching my dogs do their various outside things when Cody, watching Bozy chew on a bone, jumped up and snatched a bug right out of the air then gulped it right down. Dang dogs are funny.

Dogs with a herding instinct also need to learn the "leave it" command, it is vital. It has helped a great deal with my four herders and their issues.

I am a full time member of PF and missed that thread, I usually try to avoid them as the so to speake clique, bashes you for everything. My dogs spend alot of time outside, unattended, in a fully fenced back yard. I also have a couple of cats that are outdoors, but they have always been outside and I dont plan on changing their ways anytime soon. (okay to start slamming me now).

We have a utility sink in the laundry room and yes, been there done that. Unfortunately we have in the floor duct work so needless to say, what a freeking mess.

You know what's funny is that Buddy is not afraid of anything. We have all kinds of gas powered tools that he just ignores. Thinder doesn't even bother him. That's why I was so shocked when he freaked out.

Thanks for all of the replies. As I said he's my first freak. The other three love hanging ouside with us on the fourth. I will put him up in my bathroom which is quite large and put a tv in there. I just can't stand the thought of not having Buddy with me all day though. :cry:

I have never in my life had a dog that was deathly afraid of fireworks until now. Some kids were lighting off some fireworks a couple of weeks ago and Buddy just freaked out. My concerne, fireworks are allowed where I live and it is noisy all day on the fourth. What on earth should I do about Buddy? Ideas, suggestions, anything please.

Ummm...would you tell me where you live so I can steal Kes?:P She is adorable and remember puppys ARE cute for a reason. Cody would never have survived puppy hood if she wan't cute. :wink:

Unfortunately if one of my dogs pulled that stunt, dad would have the best of them. Crated for the night. :-?

Do you have a fenced yard? I always let my dogs outside to play and I see no problem with it. I can watch them from my bedroom window to make sure they're not doing things that they shouldn't though.

EVERY time I get out of the shower Buddy comes in and proceeds to lick my legs dry. Does anyone else have a dog that does that?
