1. I have been a cat mom for most of my life but believe it or not, I don't know everything about them. Go here ESS. http://www.thecatsite.com/forums/index.php? is a goldmine of kitty info and more.
2. Wow court, 17 years is a long time. I'm sorry to hear of his condition but he obviously has led a superb life with his meowmie and family. I hope you will be okay during this difficult time.
3. Try putting the dropper further down kittys throat. Even if some comes back out of her you need to get some meds in her. When I had to do Buzz we squeezed the sides of his mouth until it opened and put the dropper in near his back teeth instead of going in from the front. Good luck. I forgot to add to hold her muzzle gently after administering the medicine so she is forced to swallow. It may take two people to do this.
4. I supply my dogs with fresh bones and other hard chew toys daily but Bozy just seems to prefer the other things. I think he needs a head examination. Now of course he's chewing on a beef bone. He probably knows I'm talking about him.
5. I am sitting here watching Bozy consume his jolly ball's handle. I will take it away from him shortly but what is so appetizing about rubber? It will be real easy id'ing his poos in the next few days, it's a red one. That boy worries me. To date, he has eaten magazines, two of my text books, paper towels, paper plates, ink pens, numerous tubes of chapstick, which I dont buy any more, a tub of vaseline, candles, and a soda can. That one was freakish but fortunately it didn't hurt him. I'm thinking it's time to clear my house of all movable objects so they dont end up in his stomach. Ugh, I need another shot.
6. I had to laugh at the orange dog sh*t part. Get some natures miracle it works pretty well. Last week Bozy blew all over my bathroom carpet. It was mushy and nasty so I hade to whip out the carpet cleaner at 3:00 in the morning to clean it up. Aren't dogs pleasant at times.
7. LOL. Bozy, my Aussie, is constantly accused of being a Border Collie just because he has a tail. Silly, silly people.
8. We get snow just about every year but we live in the foothillls of the cascades. The cities, Seattle, Tacoma, and Everett, rarely get snow. If you decide to move to the peninsula, there is no weather other than rain. The coast also experiences rain but it is so cool (literally) up here. We have tons of humidity but the temps are moderate so it's not so much of a factor. About 2 to 4 times a year, we experience temps above 90 degrees. The rest of the time its mid 70's to mid 80's. Perfect! Now dont all of you come a running to the great NW because the traffic sucks.
9.

That storm looks like it sucks. Feel free to keep a going north to the great state of WA. In reality, good luck to you no matter what happens.
You know what! I just might do that! My sister in law lives in Widbey (Spelling?) Island and invited us up there. I just don't know how well the husband and kids would survive that trip!
It's Whidby Island and I would love to have you visit our tame weathered state. Okay.........every 10 years or so we have a dooz, but nothing like the south and east coastal regions experience.

11.

I agree with what was said above. At least your dog didn't eat a $200.00 cell phone.
Mine ate a $300 cell phone a couple months ago. Then soon after they ate my laptop charger... Oh the days when they chewed on cheap stuff because they were teething... Now they are spiteful brats and go for the important stuff.
Agreed!
12. I agree with what was said above. At least your dog didn't eat a $200.00 cell phone.
13. I hope everything is okay. I learned that a human thermo was okay when Cody was a pup. She started puking violently all over the place and the vet told me to stick one, well, you know where. It is now the dog thermo and I have since bought a human one.;) I also learned that hydrogen peroxide is excellent for inducing vomiting which I had to do to all four dogs last summer. Not fun. :-?
14. Amen Court. I think it's rediculous that I cant type my husbands name, which is also Dick, over in that forum. And you know what? I could get banned for getting around their stupid filters by typing D!ck or D ick. I relly like the freedom here at dogo so I'm sticking around. Now, dont everyone get all excited at once.
15. It seems to me that aside of the anger and dissapointment that the people here are displaying towards DAL, most of you really care about her. I hope she does indeed come to terms with what is happening and will try to work this out. I met her briefly last month and she seems to be a very sweet young lady. From the posts I read here by her, she seems lonely and confused and does not like to hear the naked truth about things. I agree she shouldn't share her dramas here if she doesn't want to hear the truth.
16.

moose came into dals life for a reason
Moose didnt come to DAL, DAL went searching for yet another dog.
Moose is the kitten isn't it? I'm so cornfused. :drinking: Ah...that's better.
17. There is only the Puget Sound Pomeranian Club. I also did a petfinder search for poms in our area and there was one up for adoption. My point is that small dogs dont show up in the shelters or rescue very often around here and if they do they dont last very long at all. You practically have to camp on the rescues door step to get a small/toy breed. The group I volunteer for doesn't even have a breed rep for the Pom, they need one by the way.;)
18. When the dogs are inside, if there is any sign of silence, I know their up to something. I usually catch them in the garbage or trying very hard to get up to the cat food.
19. I have lots of opinions that I would like to add but at this time I'm at a blank. **Picture the wall street reader board zipping all of those stock stats by at 100 miles an hour** I too would like DAL to explain her behavior. The only thing I CAN say is that I have no idea what it's like to be a soldiers wife. Nor would I ever be a soldiers wife. The base that DAL lives on has had quite a few dramatic domestic situations happen lately. Coincedence, dont know. I do agree though, that counseling would probably be in her best interest right now as messed up as she is.
20. My dogs use to defuzz regular tennis balls. I now buy the special ones, made specifically for dogs. Reason? Regular tennis balls have an abrasive fur that wears their teeth down over time. The tough ball does not have that same abrasive in it. Only one of my dogs can pop them as well.
21. Maybe the coon was rabid, a reason it wouldn't stop fighting. I don't blame you for shooting it. BTW where did you get your marksman skills from?
22. I feed my dogs and cats Nutro and they love it. Their coats and skin are great and their stools are nice and firm. I am however going to switch the dogs to Chicken Soup and the cats to Felidae as the ingredients are much better. We'll see how that goes but if it's not good, back to Nutro we go.
23.
Thats ok, as long as she is spayed asap, but please don't put it of because accidents will always happen. I just read on another forum that Im on about a young Border collie bitch who gave birth to 5 puppies and lost her own life last night. She was a rescued bitch and taken from horrid conditions already pregnant, but her death was certainly preventable.
I have also been following that thread. What a terrible thing to have happen. I can't stress enough how important it is to speuter your pets. Your dog is very pretty.
24. Where's that at DAL? I suppose I could look it up online but I'm lazy today and ready to go home.
25. Sorry to go off topic but Bailysmom, where do you go camping where you can take your dogs? Hubby and I want to go camping in September and we want to take the dogs. Geesh, we need to get out more often. Okay, back to Stryker.
