it is just regular ol' store bought chicken (it was perdue i think), so that is something to think about. she has a pretty good variety in what she eats, but whenever she gets the squishy poops it's after dinner (rmbs). also, my mind might be faltering here, but i don't recall her having this issue when she was mostly eating beef.
I don't wanna call no one for animal cruelty, because they really love the dog
no they don't. if they did they would take care of their dog.

for a while, roxy has had diarrhea on and off. it usually happens about once or twice a week and not throughout the whole day, just isolate incidents. initially i thought perhaps her chicken was going a little south by the time i gave it to her (i was defrosting a package at a time, so it would sit in the fridge for 4 days or so) so i stopped doing that. yesterday i gave her a freshly defrosted leg quarter and this morning it was worse than ever! i remove the skin and trim most of the fat, so it can't be that. help! on another board people suggested that it could be allergy to chicken. my question is why does she only react sometimes? I CAN'T DEAL WITH MORE DOGGY DIARRHEA SOMEONE HELP!

you are definitely what i would consider a hoarder. hoarders are people who cannot stop themselves from obtaining more animals even when they cannot adequately care for them. you have proven that you can indeed turn animals away (i mean not keep every single animal you come in contact with). you also take fabulous care of ALL of your pets. definitely not a hoarder. bear in mind that most people are not comfortable with large amounts of animals. a lot of people will think something is wrong with a person who keeps more than a few pets. my family at times has gotten the "your house is a zoo" comment because people aren't used to so many pets. it sucks that he hurt your feelings, but quite frankly he's a moron!
Adoption is such a viable option that I think someone being unwilling to dedicate 9 months carrying a child they created is incredibly selfish.
actually adoption is not as viable as most people would like to think. there are TONS of kids who remain wards of the state until they're 18 because not enough families are willing to adopt. horrible things are going in with child welfare services all over the country (new jersey is a hotspot) because unwanted children are in abundance. many times they spend thier lives in group homes, never knowing a real family, while others are fostered and treated in ways you wouldn't believe (hear about the one forced to bring a dead man meals for a number of weeks??)

dogs do get warts. roxy had one in her mouth (gums) when she was a pup. it went away on its own, but i still say checking with a vet is your best bet.

i am speechless. absolutely disgusting. -
be consistant in training. for example, if your stay command is "stay" don't expect the dog to know that "stay there" "hang on" don't move" ect. means the same thing. and make a big deal when he does what he's supposed to. pit bulls loooove to please their humans, so sometimes the praise is just as good as a treat. and realize that training never stops. for most of the dog's life you should be reinforcing the skills he's learned. as a pit bull owner, you will face more obstacles than the average dog owner. making sure your dog is always on his best behavior is a good way to avoid a lot of these obstacles. some general pointers: -never let your pup be off leash, unsupervised. if you don't have an adequately fenced yard you can use for excersize, become one with your leash and say hello to long walks (when he's old enough). -dog parks are appropriate for socialization of pit bull puppies. but you must realize that most pit bulls will have some degree of dog aggression and that an off leash dog park may not be an ideal place for him to play. -crate train your pup. if your pup learns to love his crate, keeping him confined and out of trouble while your out will be infinitely easier! and finally, post some pictures!!!!! good luck.

that's rediculous! i can't believe some people make judgements on others because of the dogs they keep. i personally think guys who have little dogs are so cute! my fiance is probably the most intimidating person you would ever want to see. he's a big guy, covered in tattoos, and just generally has a tough guy air about him...but when he sees a dog (big, small, whatever) he will get down on the ground and do the whole "you're a cute doggie! yes you are! oh yes you are!" thing. it's adorable.
Personally, I would have probably slapped the mess out of her which would NOT have been smart. My temper gets me into all sorts of trouble.
haha. generally i'm very calm and unconfrontational. normally i would have just walked away without saying a word, but she was being so rude to me for no reason. she called me a hooker for godsakes!

good for you! that's terrible the way they treat their animals. -
but not between dogs. i almost punched some woman in the face. first she let her dog run up to roxy and didn't even realize. i had to yell for her to get her dog under control. then later on, she tells me that she and the other irresponsible owners are coming to where roxy and i were, so i'd better take my dog somewhere else. i pointed out the big signs saying dogs must be leashed and curbed, but things just went downhill. i called her a few choice names and told her to go f-herself. she told me i looked like a hooker and said she hoped their dogs ran up to roxy (which confused me). unfortunately i did say something i should have, along the lines of their dogs not have a good experience if they ran up to roxy. but i was maaaad. i did call the cops and the parks department, but no one wanted to help. i'll get them though.

whatever decision you make, don't liken yourself to bad dog owners. sometimes we are forced to make decisions we wish we didn't have to. keep in mind that dogs are quite easily adjustable when given the right environment. you wouldn't be "getting rid" of patti, but giving her a new home without the stress of dealing with a dog she doesn't get along with. and sometimes, just sometimes, people need to come before dogs. you have one child and another on the way. rehoming your dog for her own sake as well as the sake of your family is not a horrible thing. good luck.
Puppies potty at 3 different times. When they wake up, after they eat, and when they change location.
make note: these are the ONLY times a pup goes to the bathroom. they don't have to go in the middle of the night. or when they play. or when they're excited. sheesh roxy must be some kind of defective dog.

roxy wears a hooded toddler sweatshirt from old navy!! i really like it because not only is it so gosh darn cute, but the sleeves protect her front legs and, if sized right, it will accomodate her large bully chest while remaining snug and keeping out the cold. and everyone who sees her in it just flips....i'll post a pic.
