1. Just read the bit about the foster organization paying for his treatment. That's awesomely encouraging!!!
2. I agree with Mouse. :-? Good luck with getting a puppy! A puppy will bring you great joy and those awful people will just fade into background noise. :D
3. I'm so sorry about the dreadful results of Pooh's x-rays. :( Our thoughts and prayers are with you as you make a difficult decision. I hope it all works out...
4. It's great to hear he is part of the family so soon! :D
5. Perhaps it's time to get the video cam out? :D :D Such excitement should be recorded for posterity! Poor grackle....
6. I hope for the best for Pooh Bear next Tuesday! It will be a relief to simply know, but I hope with everyone else that it's just a muscle strain!
7. Wonderful story! I could see it all happening. Be glad you have dogs instead of c@ts. :o :o :o I had a c@t once that literally tore apart two rooms trying to catch a sparrow that had made its way into our house one night. Woke up to the c@t running over my face.... It was all downhill from there. Unlike your great story....mine ended sadly.
8. Glad it's all sorted! :D    @ Courtnek because of these words: I also told him Ford could come back here anytime, if it doesnt work out. and they could bring the other kitty here too. I'm such a sucker for an animal.... So true!
9. Here is my rational response: I think Ford should choose. If he goes with them to an apartment and seems unhappy, he should be allowed to return to you and your home where he has become so happy. And now my gut response: Heck no! Ford should not have to be torn from the bosom of his furry family and the comfort he has found in his interactions with you! "Ford sleeps on my bed. loves me. seems perfectly happy here with the other animals. he lords it over them." Wah! You are his mommy. He has picked you. He should definately stay! Here's a question? Who takes care of Ford's needs? If it's you, then you definately should have a say in his living arrangements.
10. You are great! :D :D :D I guess you've had enough of a rest now? Back on the fostering trail again. Awesome! Wonderful dogs.
11. Time to celebrate! :D :D :D What great news!!! (runs off to picture thread to see his pic!)
12. Yuck! Just came back in from collecting the vast array of presents that collected over the winter... :o :o :o Most are gone, but I'm sure I missed a few. Perhaps tomorrow. I could have used a gas mask. I use a large bucket and spring-activated scoop thingy that I can use without bending over, so the task is not too difficult physically. But the fenced area they use is large and takes a while to criss-cross back and forth to find all the bombs. Plus, as the bucket fills the smell wafts upward to my nose. I tried collecting it while the ground was frozen, but they were stuck to the ground... :x Glad it's done...for now.
13.
Sometimes I just can't get over some of the scum that walk this earth. :(
:wallbash: Total agreement with your sentiment, Malamum!
14. I feel sick to my stomach... Such poor judgement to allow a unknown animal access to an area where children are playing. The dog should have been in an enclosed area away from the children or at the very least tied securely away from the kids. This was a totally preventable injury.... :x Once again the dog takes the full blame.
15. I'll be thinking of Gladis and you when she goes in for it's removal! Hope everything goes smoothly. :D
16. He IS perfect! What a little charmer he is! Congratulations! (and I hope this is the first of many pics!) :D :D :D Hehehe....had to look at topic review and scroll through the pics again...he is so cute!
17. Oh, poor thing!! I wonder how she hurt herself? Give her a big hug when she gets home from the emergency vet! Maybe they will have a guess as to its cause.
18. If there is a burr within a mile it is a sure bet that a dog with the thickest, uncombable coat will find it! Ben's collects some real interesting specimens in his bottle-brush tail. :-? Jerry, on the other hand, is our teflon dog...nothing sticks! Welcome to spring!
19. :o No nail clipping here. Vet has to do it. Both of our boys have nails as hard as steel and I don't have the hand strength to do the job quickly and competently. Ben simply gathers himself together and walks away every time we have tried to get the job done. There's just no way I can restrain him long enough to complete the job. He's funny about his feet. However, the dremel tool does sound interesting. I think it might be worth a try. :D
20. Welcome Back, pigman! :user: :D
21.
well, I'm of no help. My dogs are so big that any door big enough to let me out would let an averaged sized human (100 lbs or so) squeeze in as well...
Ditto! I don't really think a human would squeeze in with the boys in here, but I don't want to take chances. Besides, Ben would be in and out so much in the winter due to his infatuation with snow that I'm afraid our heating bill would go through the roof! My niece has a doggie door for her two hounds that opens into a secure fenced yard. Her cats snuck out of it on a regular basis, so they have had to keep it locked.  Her dogs are not happy... 8)
22. Kat - It almost seems to me that they are jealous of the affection Meg has for you. :-? I'm so sorry you and Meg have been put in this situation. That said, I do think you've made a good decision to stop at this point. If they won't listen to reason, then why plead any longer? Even though it breaks your heart, they do control access to her and can do what they want. I feel so sad for poor little Meg. All the people involved understand what's going on, but bless her little heart, she can't.  They deserve a big kick where it would hurt the most!
23. HF, you are awesome! :D :D :D
24. I've got my fingers crossed for you Kat!
25. Good Luck, Kat! My thoughts will be with you as you talk with them. I'm so sorry this has happened to you.
