1. that's awesome! it takes some creativity sometimes doesn't it....:) glad that is working.
2. daisysmom- i am so glad jake and chelsea are okay! that must have been terrifying. how much does it cost to get a dog microchipped? i have been considering it for both my dogs..........
3. good grief, what a dummy. glad you called the police, sounds like some of the people my dad worked with in the federal mental hospital in DC...
4. Marble, your dog is a dobie mix as well....boy will we have alot to discuss! I had a purebred before and she was a complete velcro dog.....she had to be touching you at all times! I can see that Beau is going to be like this as well...when I sit down he tries to get as close as possible without climbing into my skin....then he puts his head on my shoulder or lap...that is if my Rottie is in a mood to share me... my Rottie does not get aggressive to him, but, she gets very pushy and uses her body to keep him away from me by body slamming him. then she turns around and licks his mouth as if to say...sorry, I like ya lots....but, there are some things I don't share!
cassie- yeah, my dogs a nut :) drives me crazy but she really is worth it. her most recent thing is hovering around me when she can tell i'm going to sit down and then leaping (literally) into my lap so she can sit on me...its pretty entertaining but i am working on having her sit first so i don't lose an eye or my front teeth when she slams into me...she is still growing and a bit clumsy :) she's about 20 months and pretty lanky and tall.... i'll try to post some pictures of her soon so you can see her, i personally think she's gorgeous, not biased or anything...she is also half ACD so you can imagine what kind of a monster she can be :) she has some funny traits from both breeds. another thing she does if she wants attention or is feeling sorry for herself is to yawn really really loudly and make all kinds of moaning racket......she really is the funniest dog i've ever had. i'm really glad we both survived the first eight months, it was a nightmare but definitely worth it..... can you tell at all what he might be mixed with? how tall is he?
5. cassie, you're the bomb :) and he's one lucky dog :) dobermans are some funny dogs, one of my mutts is, i'm 99% sure, half dobie and she's the most fun, idiosnycractic, crazy dog i've ever had. she's hilarious......if you can send them to someone to put up i'd love to see pictures too :) he sounds really really cute. i love dobie mixes. i hope he continues to do well, he could not have found a better home :) good luck.
6. what a stinking bonehead, some people are serious jerks. however you handled it really well and your question about did he want to fight his kids might make him think.......
7. Thank you all :) I am working on finishing my bachelors degree and the school I just transferred to is REALLY hard core........I'll check back through one of the computer labs :) I hope everyone is well. Courtnek, congrats on your new dog, and the several others who are getting new dogs :) I hope that continues to go well.......
8. Just wanted to say hello to you all, I moved a two weeks ago and tragically don't have internet access at home.........I've tried to read up some here but have not gotten very far, you all have been busy :)
9. i hope it goes well :) good luck with visiting her.........keep us updated.
10. you two must communicate pretty well :) they are unbelievable at reading body language and interpreting our tones of voice........:) dresden and lady pull that stuff every once in a while, it's very entertaining...
11.

BK still plays games (no fetch though!), he gets hyper when I try to grab his legs (it's what he used to do to Rinny!). He still goes crazy for this game but he will roll over for me for a belly rub when I say it's over.
dresden is really into the leg biting thing too :) it's hilarious when she and lady play because they spend most of the time trying to bite each others legs :) i have a rope toy too but i had to take it away because dresden and lady would get so rough. ady is a lot smaller now, it had gotten to the point where it looked like dresden was going to jerk ladys teeth out......lady already broke one of her front teeth so i get nervous about her jerking on things like that rope.......i still think it would be a really bad idea for me to play tug with dresden, with her being such a pushy brat.......
12.
OK, in my opinion, the BEST kids song EVER!! PUFF, the magic dragon lived by the sea And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee, Little Jackie Paper loved that rascal PUFF,and brought him strings and sealing wax, and other fancy stuff... Together they would travel on a boat with billowed sail Jackie kept a lookout perched on PUFF's gigantic tail, Noble kings and princes would bow when'er they came, Pirate ships would lower their flags when PUFF roared out his name OH, PUFF, the magic dragon lived by the sea And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee, PUFF, the magic dragon lived by the sea And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee A dragon lives forever but not so little boys Painted wings and giant rings make way for other toys. One gray night it happened, Jackie Paper came no more And PUFF that mighty dragon, he ceased his fearless roar His head was bent in sorrow, green scales fell like rain, Without his life-long friend, PUFF could not be brave, So PUFF that mighty dragon sadly slipped into his cave Oh! PUFF, the magic dragon lived by the sea And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee, PUFF, the magic dragon lived by the sea And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee
wow, another favorite of mine :) one time when i was younger my mother got really sick for like a month and we played puff the magic dragon over and over so many times that the first thing she did when she could get out of bed was to take the record and hide it :)
13. thanks for your help :) yeah, i'm definitly planning on the walks but i can't go there very easily ahead of time since it's almost two hours away and i only will have had about five days between finding a place and moving in.......thanks for the help, i really appreciate it. bk, i'm sure dresden would pull the houdini (sp?) stuff if she could but she's either on a leash with me or running back in the woods behind our house because there is 500 acres back there and we don't have a fenced yard.......funny how crazy both our dogs are :)
14.
Rowie, you are so sweet!!!!! We love having you here to brighten our days with your :D  :P   Happy Anniversary!!!!!!!!!
preach it sister :) that's what i was thinking too :) we're really glad you're here rowie!
15. i know this is un-related in a way but she's not spayed is she? i know she's young but i thought i'd ask.....because my brothers doberman for the longest time would pee anywhere at the drop of a hat, probably literally. what he found out was that she was having hormone problems from being spayed and the vet put her on a hormone replacement medication and she's all better now :) if i remember correctly he said the vet said that he's seen it a fair amount in dobies.......just a thought.
16. hey, does anyone have any suggestions for settling dresden into a new place when i move? i'm planning on lots of long walks in our neighborhood and then slowly further away........just thought i'd check and see if you all knew any special tricks that would make the adjustment easier on her :) THANKS :)
17.
one of my favorite songs as a kid was "Yellow Submarine" in the land where i was born lived a man who sailed the seas and he told, us of his life in a yellow subarine so we sailed into the sun until we found a sea of green and we lived beneath the waves in a yellow submarine!! we all live in a yellow submarine a yellow submarine, a yellow submarine we all live in a yellow submarine, a yellow submarine, a yellow submarine
yeah, every time i hear that song i have to crank it up and sing along :)
18. dresden loves bread crusts and carrots in her kong :) those baby carrots work well.......:)
19. welcome, congratulations on being responsible and neutering your dog :) i KNOW we'd all love to see picture of him, i love weimeraners......one of my favorite breeds........
20. We'd all love to see pictures of your dog too :) I bet she's gorgous, I love pointers....
21. oh dear, i'm coming in on this one too late i see :)
22. that's awesome! i know how you feel, i was really excited when i made progress with dresden too :)
23. i may be inhumane :) but dresden has a huge old bath towel in her crate, it looks like swiss cheese because she's had it a year.....she also has a kong and a nylabone to keep her busy in there.......lady has a woven mexican blanket but she's older and a lot less destructive...
24. carol, i love all your signature and avatar, great photographs :)
25. yeah you should have seen her today.....a friend of mine is staying here for a couple weeks with her five pound chihuahua, named ginseng, he and dresden are having a ton of fun together. he's the first dog i've ever seen dresden act unsure of herself with, i could have sworn she was actually scared of him for a minute :) and she's 50 pounds and like 24 inches at the shoulder :) it's really funny when we let them outside together because he chases her all over the place in circles barking at her and she dodges all over the place teasing him.......they should both sleep well tonight, and believe me i have learned to appreciate a sleeping dog........they are both crazy.....i think they each know they've met there match feistiness and craziness and barking-wise.....
