1. Thats cute sasha. I feel like I'm missing out on something, what maniac dog forum? *sniff* I feel like I've been left out of something
2. This forum has been so quiet over the past week, Im starting to wonder if some plague has got you all and I am one of the last survivers. HELLO!!! ello, lo, o... Is there an echo in here, or is it just me? :-?
3. Since I got my new cat I havn't been able to let Lily in my room (he is very timid and only stays in my room). Well, I let Lily in the lounge room when I can, but as its getting warmer mums changed the rules again and doesn't want the dogs in the house (only Puddles, who is in all day) Anyway, at night or when it is raining Lily and Tessa go in the sunroom, which has huge glass sliding doors that look straight through the study and into my room. Lily's always whining to come in (mum tries to say she wants to go OUT, but when she is out she still whines to come in!), but when she sees the cat she tries to run STRAIGHT THROUGH THE GLASS DOORS! She hits her head on it so hard it rattles, the cat gets scared, and everyone worries that she'll break the glass and end up at the vet. What can I do about it? I can't wait until Meeko (the cat) is ready and willing to come into the lounge room and stay there so I can let Lily in through my door, her whining to me is like any mothers baby whining, it send me crazy and I feel so terrible!!! :(

I don't know about overseas, but you can find doggie hydrotherapy pools here in Australia. Maybe something like that would be your best bet. Also, contact a dog naturopath, they'll advise you on things that you can add to the diet to lessen the doggie odour.
5. Agreed with Hobbit. All breeds have thier different playing styles, Tessa got hers mostly from the cattle dog in her and she plays like that. What I hate is when other people wont let their dog play, not because there is any aggression but only because "their dogs are too good to play" or whatever reason they have! The best way to get an agressive dog is to not let it play! Only prob with Tessa is she's not interested in playing any more, she'll just run off and find a stick most of the time :-?
6. Very cute, I'd say he's a basenji/chihuahua cross with a little mini fox terrier mixed in. He's got the markings of a tri coloured basenji, and a bit of expression from that. Bone structure (in his legs) is like a chihuahua and his body is structured a little like a Mini foxie

Dangerous dog

I agree 100% with everything you say, Hobbit. The dog was being minded by a friend while he was away travelling the world. He bought this dog years ago, when he lived out on a property... but he had to move here because he got accepted at UNI here. Its sad though, as you say, its in their nature to chase and herd. This dog happend to 'herd' the wrong person and now has absolutly no freedom in life.
8. My friends dog, Jess, has been named as a dangerous dog. Which means that if she is seen in public, even out the front of her house, without a muzzle and off a lead, my friend will get a huge fine and she may be put down. This dog, a red heeler cross dingo, has the temprement of the typical labradore, only friendlyer! When visitors come she just rolls over next to them and licks their hand. She never barks and is one of the calmest dogs I've ever met. Apparently she got put on the act after her owner had been on holiday for three months and she chased a few cars and a bike. Now, if she so much as wonders out the front of her house her life is at risk. Does anyone else think this sucks?
9. Thanks tiggerress :D Yeah BK, sometimes I think "too many man..." Hope you get better soon, and next time remember the key! One time I was locked out of the house I really needed to get into town (or anywhere with a toilet!). Dad wasn't home but the car was and I've got car keys, but no licence! Only my L's, but I thought oh heck, and took the car. Well, good thing dads so cool because I ran into him in town and he said "i hope your not after a lift home because I don't have the car" and I was just like... "thats ok, I do..." LOL, so glad I didn't run into mum instead! 8)
10. Yeah sash, where is it? We need beer! Yeah Bk, havn't started working yet, but when I do I'll probably be here less :( Its good that I'm working at the UNI post office though, I've got dozens of friends there and this really cute adorable guy who says he'll come in every ten minutes to buy a stamp just to see me  Sweet eh? 8)
11. LOL, deep, had a good laugh at that one. By any chance were you stoned when you thought Lily was a stuffed animal!  You guys oughtta move to Armidale, every second person from year 7 up is stoned and its hard to find anyone my age who doesn't smoke the stuff (except for me of course, I'm a good girl.... I just drink alot  ) I think I over did it on Thursday night though, I've still got a headache today and I'm supposed to go out for some more celebration drinks tonight and to see my friends band play (you know the one Bk  ) Celebrating because on Thursday I got a job! :D

Uncanny digestion

Thanks roo, I'll be working at the post office at the UNI, which suits me fine because I've got stacks of friends at the UNI and I'll get to see them every day!!! The only reason I would put her on Purina One is because its cheaper, its still top quality and its made in Australia. If she didn't like it I would keep her on the Euk. though.
13. Has any one heard of Diane Ah Naid? Well, she sings the hit songs "I Go Off" and "Perfect Family" as well as many others. Well, I went to a concert of hers last night and after she's finnished singing I went and talked to her for about 15 minutes. I started talking about my babys and pulled out the photos. She said "Oh, I love boxers, what a gorgeous dog!" and then she signed Lilys photo!!!! :D So my darling dog has a famous persons signature on her!!!! :D :D :D I'm stoked! :D

Uncanny digestion

Thats all probably true. I didn't think of that. Well I'm going to buy Lily Eukanuba for two months to see if it sorts her stomach out. If it doesn't off to the vets for some tests... if it does I'll try switching her to Pro Plan, or Purina One which is a little more in my price range. If that doesn't work I will have to keep forking out $30 a fortnight to feed her! That would be fine if I didn't have to feed Tessa and my two cats as well. But now the good news!!!! Although it all sounds very expensive, I got a job today!!!!! :D :D :D I'm also getting paid $350 for doing Jury Duty, so for once I actually have the money I need!!!! :D

Uncanny digestion

Thats interesting that he didn't do so well on Pro Plan, but then again, it is a representative who is trying to convince me that its the best! I was actually considering the sensitive stomach formula to see how that works for her. But I do realize that different things work best for different dogs. I am going to take her to the vet within the next week though and see what he has to say. I don't think he sells dog food, so he can give me an un bias oppinion. Everyone on the other forum is saying Pro Plan or Eukanuba. The reason they say Eukanuba is while I was away for a few days the kennel fed Lily on Eukanuba and the runs cleared up, I have a little suspision though that there were other factors involved, possibly considence, but it may be worth a try... but then again so may be hills, or Pro Plan.... If I'm going to spend $100 on a bag of dog food, I want it to be the right one. I'm beggining to pull my hair out!!!! :o

ACD's
I am not an advocate at a pet family owning this breed of dog.
Neither am I, I didn't mean that they are crazy dogs, but from all the cattle dogs I've met, and beleive me, there are ALOT around here, the red ones seem to be a little more on edge. They are working dogs and do not adjust well to being kept in a yard without much excercise, yet from my experience the Blue ones seem to adjust better than the red ones. As it was mentioned earlier, the Australian ACDs are much different from those overseas, which may be why our experiences are different. Sorry if I offended you
17. Yes, she got lots of cuddles, kisses and big yummy treats! But I think the best treat of all for her will be going onto the next level in two weeks :D

Uncanny digestion

Never heard of it, probably no an Aussie thing. Goats milks great though, its got almost as much calcium as normal milk, less fat, more vitamins.... I think the only reason why not everyone drinks it is because it doesn't taste right and its so expensive!
19. Well, for the first few weeks at least, until I can see whether there is a difference or no difference, I will stick just to one type of food, no extras Once I see if that works I can start adding other things, one at a time to see if she reacts

What were you feeding when Jesse was getting 8 cups a day? I've thought of Hills, but have heard alot of bad things about them. I do know they have a sensitive stomach formula. If I feed Pro Plan I just realized I will have to ring the company to even buy it! No one in this town sells the stuff! Oh its all too confusing! All these diets etc etc etc, I'm thinking now I'll forget all that and just see what the vet has to say! :o
21. I think they have pork in alot of dog foods, so that is possible. When she was on BARF and I had the chance to moniter what she ate it did get a little better, but when I realized that I really coudn't afford it I couldn't feed it to her anymore I had to stop feeding it to her. Before I go spending hundreds on tests I think I may buy a big bag of really good quality food, Pro Plan, with no preservatives, colours and using lamb as the prime ingredient, no other meats (i think). I'll feed it for two months, then if no improvement I'll get the tests.
22. Did it happen accidently or was it artificial? Want to know why people do it? I'll tell you why!!!! People just love to play god and when things go wrong its always someone elses fault, thats why! Bk, went to the link, obviously the new has changed. It was funny, they had a story about the Bulldogs not being able to play in the finals (sad, isn't it :( ) And just while I was reading it it came on the news!!!

Uncanny digestion

We've made yoghurt with long life milk for years (it wont work in Junket though!). I guess the bactiria in the milk may be killed, but it is the bactiria in the yoghurt that needs to be live, so thats why it works. I would wait for her stomach to settle before I gave her any fruit or veg. I would only give it as a treat and if it gave her the runs I wouldn't give it to her again.
24. We'll miss you too of course. Just an idea, put the bowel in a dish of water, that way the ants can't get in! :D

Uncanny digestion

Thanks for the suggestion, I can only get long life Goats Milk and I can only buy sheeps yoghurt! Hopefully the two will go nicely together  I'll blend it in slowly, I should be getting paid soon and I still have a whole bag of supercoat (which Tessa also eats, but she wont need the pro plan, she's as tough as nuts and healthy as they come! :D ) Once I have weaned her onto the pro plan, then I will start adding the yoghurt and some fruit and vegges once I see how she goes on that.
