1. GO Tina....GO Tina.....GO Tina.... all good wishes coming here way!
2.      you win!! NO camels around here..although I did get chased and attacked by a turkey once...
3. those of use with children (namely me, in this instance) can attest to the work it takes to raise them, train them, make them useful members of society, and keep them out of the neighbors hair...entitlement? no. NO ONE is "entitled" to have children. it is a choice, a commitment, and a FULLTIME JOB!!!! that being said, I have no tolerance for people (like my sister) who dont discipline their kids cuz it will "ruin their spirit..." SMACK that spirit across the butt when it gets outta line, will ya? you're not doing your kids any favors by not training them to be decent, loving, caring adults...they will have to go into the "real"world sometime, and guess what? NO ONE will like them because YOU spoiled them rotten.... vent over... :evilbat:
4. I'll have to take new pictures then!!
5. heres another one...
6. I can make them bigger if ya want....
7. I like #3....hey, maybe use pics of our dogs? that makes it exclusively ours...I'll volunteer Free and Laurel....  some people may not want to do that, especially if their dogs are shown, or agility winners, whatever. Mine are the basic house mutt....
8. I'm easy (NOT cheap though)   I can go with all of that. I agree that blurbs for"first time owners" is a good idea. too many people buy/adopt dogs by the "cuteness factor" and dont realize what they're getting into. I liked the idea of "before you adopt this dog, know this" 8)
9. I dont know much about the others, but the Golden and Lab will have to be older dogs, if you're gonefor 10 hours a day. they dont start growing uptil they're about 5, and by growing upI mean losing the puppy part... 8)
10. I agree with Pyr....maybe break the list up into most common/popular, then less common/popular....then dogs who arent for the average pet owner (I didnt look up every dog type, but wolf-dogs, IMO, would fall into the"not for JPQ category) not trying to give you more work...sorry....
11. how are Zeb's teeth? I ask because I had a very similar abcess caused by an infected tooth. it didnt hurt at all, just blew up out of nowhere. the dentist didnt drain it either, the antibiotics brought it down, but maybe he has a gum infection of some sort.... just a thought.... 8)
12. she's preggers as well. the farmer came with a truck to get her, very happy I had taken care of her...      sorry, Canis, but cheese covered ribs just doesnt do it for me....
13. she's black and white...typical dairy around here...this is an odd neighborhood...some of it, like my house, is city-like, but less than 1/2 mile away are dairy farms.... there are coyotes and foxes by the river, lots of forested areas...its cool and weird at the same time... 8) :o
14. there's one standing on my front lawn....the dogs are going ballistic....     I think I know who owns her...my neighbor is driving over to the farm now. his cows get out all the time for some reason.... she looks to be in good health, good weight and hide looks fine. she's another escapist....I found three of them a few years back standing in the road not far from my house..... I moved her into the backyard (very gentle and compliant)and put some water out for her. at least she's not near the road now.....
15. try watching their soccer games sometime.....thats also appalling.... knowing that this would be an issue, if the favored dog is the dogo and these people apparently have no self control, perhaps the dog should again be disallowed, or the event held elsewhere, under tight security... hell, I hate it when my favorite football and baseball teams lose, but I'm not gonna HURT anyone over it..... :o
16. go get a little disposable camera with flash. when you get the pictures developed have them put on a CD. then you can load the CD in yourPC and upload pictures.... those of us too poor to buy a digital camera do this all the time....
17. it must be a snow dog thing...Jarvis was part malamute, and HE never learned either..... 8)
18. you can use chicken wire in the other holes as well. most of them hate it, Free thought it was great fun to dig it up and then pull it out with her teeth....   so I went for the pepper. that worked well for me. 8)
19. if your guests are willing to cooperate, that works. if not, a small two foot leash, a stern DOWN command, and treats will fix it. when the dog jumps, you step on the leash and yell NO JUMP! standing on the leash will prevent it. then DOWN. put the dog in a down, and then treat. it takes a little time, but they will get it. 8)
20. I want to do the Labs too!!! {big pout} unless you think someone else is better.I will bow to more expretise and knowledge... otherwise, **I** want to do the LABS!!
21. for your own safety? they have been doing this for pets, for years...would YOU allow it to be done to you? my take is NO. I dont want Big Brother watching me..what's yours
22. if I can help, let me know. Labs are my specialty... 8)
23. Freckles, do you understand the needs of a Lab puppy? they dont train themselves, contrary to popular belief. they need LOTS of trainig, LOTS of exercise, and then more training, and more exercise... they are excellent dogs, with the proper training and care, but they end up in shelters without it. PM me with questions please. I dont want you to be overwhelmed with thiis dog, which happens alot... 8)

Fleas

I dont know of any other than garlic...I cook with garlic all the time, and my dogs often get leftovers from my meals (italian meatballs, veggies, I LOVE garlic) and they have NO flea problems... it doesnt make them smell like garlic, if thats your concern... 8)
25. kind of a combination of musk oil (like musky perfume) gasoline, and burning motor oil (thats the metallic part). thats about as close as I can get.... mine got all hyper a few weeks ago at 4:00 a.m. to go out....and since Jarv got skunked, TWICE, I am always on the lookout. I flashlighted the yard, nothing was there, so I let them out. (the last skunk was so bold it walked right up to the door and stood there!) around 7:00 a.m. the lovely scent of skunk came wafting through the window. it had been hit by a car. does anyone remember the song "Dead Skunk in the Middle Of The Road"? I had that stupid song stuck in my head for hours after that... :drinking:
