1. I so agree with you. PETA is absolutely the most ridiculous piece of poo ever. Just as an FYI - they euthanized 62% of the animals they "rescued" (and I use the word sarcastically) in 2000, as opposed to the 30-45% in county shelters in the same year according to the US Humane Society. Yet, they LOVE animals, right? Except for pit bulls, and the ones they could have found homes for if they had even attempted. Yeah, I'm a little opinionated about this subject.
2. My pup's first birthday is fast approaching (October 10th). He is very much a Libra and would love a party or something where attention can be lavished on him. I would really like to hear suggestions, ideas, and what you have done for your dogs. Thanks! :bday:

Greenies

My dog loves Greenies but has had allergic digestive reactions to them before. Our vet said that they basically turn in to paste in the digestive system, but most dogs are fine with them and have no problems. I have never heard of a reaction like your dog had though :( You may try Breath-a-licious instead, they are supposed to be less allergenic than Greenies due to a different gluten/herbs being used.
4. I really appreciate that you posted the info and the link. I love Cane Corso. there are two that frequent the same dog park that we do, amazing dogs! :D
5. My dog has the same problems at the vet. He actually LOVES the vet and her assistants, but he was abused as a pup and can't stand to be restrained. They found that just muzzling him when they take him in the back for a procedure they don't have to sedate him. My dog is weird in that he's not really trying to bite them, he just gets mouthy when he feels trapped. It's very embarassing - I feel your pain! I'd definately try a different vet if your dog was fine with one other than your regular. If you do have to take him to the same one, I'd suggest to muzzle him beforehand to avoid any problems. Also, I've had some success with Bach's Stress Remedy (natural flower extracts - can find it at health food stores). Good luck!! :Dog_run:
6. My dog just had one of those pop up right above his eye. I took him to the vet twice so far (I'm a panicky mom) and both times she said that it was a skin tag or a wart. I'm taking him in on Wednesday to have it removed since it's so close to his eye it keeps getting irritated. I definately think you should take your dog in to the vet though, just in case. Hopefully it's nothing! Best wishes
7. I am shocked to come across you post - I was seriously bitten by a female black lab that I had known for years before the incident. Like you, I was under the impression that all (or most) Labs were non-aggressive. It is possible that people may be seeing more temperment problems with Labradors since they are a very popular breed. As popular dogs, many are being bred by people who might not be the most conscientious about genetics. In my specific case it seems the dog was not mentally stable due to inbreeding and she was IN HEAT (duh!! stupid owner...). She attacked me as I was walking away from her. A few months later she jumped out of a moving truck and died. She was a normal, intelligent, sweet dog during the first few years of her life, something just "snapped" when she was about 3 years old. I have a Pharaoh Hound/Pit Bull mix, so I am accutely aware of the "one bad apple spoils the bunch" theory about breeds, so I'm very cautious of thinking that Labs are all going to turn vicious. I would definately see what you can do about this particular dog in order to protect yourself, even if it means calling the police or animal control to knock some sense in to the owner. Good luck!
