Primrose-thank you for understanding the question instead of throwing knifes at me. You truly are intelligent.
Oh... and the plural of knife is actually spelled with a 'v' Just in case you wanted to know....
After a month of contemplation I finally decided on this board. Because after a month I hadn't seen one thread with anyone being bashed, or criticized, or ganged up on and humiliated and ousted. I thought "now here is a community that has it's head screwed on straight", here is a community that evidently knows how to handle complicated/sticky situations properly instead of acting like children all the time, like many other forums. Boy, was I ever mislead. No sooner did I join I had people bashing me, in my introduction thread. Then it followed to most every other thread I posted or posted in. The same issue's brought up over and over (even though the rules state that members aren't to do that). Then even when I asked for advice I got bashed and criticized.
Oh boo hoo, cry me a river. I just joined this forum, and you seem a 'bit' defensive. You started a thread about getting another dog and then you post that the THREE dogs you already have are kept in the back yard in kennels because you live live with someone who is afraid of your dogs. Take your ball and bat and go home if you can't deal with people telling you not to be an irresponsible owner. Michelle
mnp13--.................................the sound of my post going THROUGH your head!
What a comeback!! Wow, I have been smited by your rapier wit! I'm sorry, Rabid, does being so ignorant hurt? Michelle
mnp13---they do
wow... you really are an ignorant fool, aren't you?
I would like to address some of these things if I may?..not to contradict but to see explained fully to defer any misunderstandings and possible further nastyness and mudslinging..or do I mean poop posting?..anyways <snip> Nuff said?
Sure, I wasn't trying to start a fight with those comments. My point was that differences in opinions and ethics are present in the forum community and tolerated to an extent - even if it is to agree to disagree. It is dishonesty that makes people nuts. I'm sure there has been plenty of discussion about it, the problem comes when people say one thing, do another and them make up some stupid lie to try to explain it all away. Michelle
Maybe if we use small words and talk real slow....
I doubt it will make a difference but we can make the attempt. oops, there I go again! um.... I don't think it'll make no diff, but I'll sure try! Michelle
i dont know the prices much except the ferrets they are $90 and they can be w/ anything, fav toy blankie etc.
That's how much Mordred was as well. It's a lot cheaper if you let them 'mix' with other animals and be scattered at the communal garden, but I wanted him back. The crematorium I used will let you come and watch them put your pet in and section them off from the other animals, but I would have been a total basket case watching that. One of the shelters in my area will do individual cremation as well, but they don't offer the option to watch. It really creeped me out that I might not actually get Mordred back, so I paid three times as much for more piece of mind. Michelle

You mean shepards
You mean German shepards----please do not confuse this breed with the beautiful, intelligent, and friendly Australian Shepard!!!!!!!!! geesh big enough ears or what! Funny, they all look the same. I feel bad that the breed was bred so much to fit a standard of certain look that the back legs are way down. I dont think thats a good look at all. Oh well, I dont need to worry, there will soon be no more German Shepards around here.HEHEHEHE :evilbat:
*zoooommmmmmm* (The sound of my post going right over your head.....)
i see only one of you could try to answer a question. The rest just bashed as usual.
Oh please. Saying 'every lab looks alike' is like saying 'every black person looks alike'. It is a stupid and ignorant comment. Every person and every dog has individula traits. They may have similar features, but they all have distinct features as well. Even identical twins (who have the exact same DNA) have distinct features that make them individuals. This is not bashing, it is people lowering themselves to your level.... "Don't ever argue with an idiot, they pull you down to their level and then beat you with experience." Michelle

Hey Primrose, first... I think you should join the board or not join the board, it looks like you want to participate so why not actually join? Just a thought. Anyway.... I think you were talking about me, as I couldn't find where Hazel said she was in rescue. Not that it really matters though. As for RNP, every time evidence shows up he conviently disappears. When this first came to light and his friends were defending him he let them fight his battles for him. As time went on a few threads here were locked, they were about RNP, but again he didn't bother to even defend himself. He dragged in a Mod, wasting her time and energy and causing her no small amount of stress and she was ultimately the target of abuse by forum members due to her investigation. Still no word from RNP. People from a couple of different boards came here with damning evidence against him, they are called trolls and trouble makers. He is still nowhere to be found. His friends still stand by him. He finally signs on with some lame ass lie that no one in their right mind would ever believe. The then amends the lie with another lie. Even his friends here couldn't deny the mounting evidence. They stood by him and he crapped on their loyalty. He has disappeared again. The funny thing is, there are BYB's here. There are people who fight their dogs here. There are show breeders here. There are people who sell their dogs at auction. None of them have been banned, because they are honest about what they are doing. RNP has lied over and over and over, to hide what he is doing. He has done nothing illegal, but he lies and then hides when those lies are exposed. You say 'let people hear from RNP'. That's difficult to do, he keeps disappearing. When he reappears he tells more outrageous lies. Why would anyone want to 'hear from' a proven liar??? This is not a 'mob mentality', it is a group of people who want a dishonest trouble maker out of their community. As a community they have that right. Michelle

A big problem... ok, a 25 pound problem... I have this foster dog named Tribble. He's a pomeranian. I hate small dogs. I have never wanted to own any dog except a bull breed or a Beauceron. My mom wanted a pom, so I found her one and fostered it through the rescue I transport for. She wanted a black female pom, Trib is a male, but besides that he fits the bill. He's a great little dog. Friendly and smart and soooooo cute. He's got a ton of issues but he is such a sweet dog. Due to a few circumstances my father has said no, so Tribble is 'on the market' now. The woman who runs the rescue I foster for has found him an adopter, but after only a week the thought of him leaving brings tears to my eyes (yes, I know that's lame). I am not a 'little dog' person... but he such a good dog! Such personality, and not at all yappy.... Those of you in rescue... how do you do this? Have a dog in your home and get to know it and then let it go? Connor was a foster, but my BF adopted him so he's still in my life..... Michelle
-
Well I'd LOVE to rescue, and was my first choice, but after a lot more research and talking to people decided that for my first AmStaff from a breeder would be best  And I'll be moving out next year, and already have a dog, and a cat, and my boyfriend will be bringing his cat :o That's what we HOPE anyway, so I think that's a lot of mouths to feed, and if I can afford the price, doesn't mean I can afford vet and food!!!
Nope... I'm not buying it :D . Many dogs in rescue are pure bred with papers. The AKC will not transfer papers once a dog has been in rescue, but unless you are a breeder that shouldn't matter anyway. Rescue is great, you can get a young adult or adult dog that is house trained, leash trained and get it from a foster family who can tell you about the temperament of the dog. There are tons of breed rescues that only take purebred dogs! Skip the puppy phase and get exactly what you want in a dog!!!! Michelle
heres another one you can use - no copyright infringements, I wrote it. It's hanging by my front door.
Would you please PM me your real first and last name so that I may properly credit you when I print this out and hang it in my house? Michelle
I don't know how many time has RnP here, but we're talking about years, right?, why in all those years you never realized about this kind of things?, why all this things came up together, and why a bunch of guests took the time to make an extensive investigation of this, and finally we have to realize that from them?.... just wondering
Because when you 'know' someone you never want to believe that they have been hiding their real, true nasty self for all that time. I was one of the people who joined to spread the word about RNP. People here didn't want to believe it because he had been a member for so long and many gave him the benefit of the doubt many times over. I'm a 'bit' more cynical because I've been involved in rescue for years - even the most friendly adopter can turn out to be a BYB, so the smallest shred of evidence turns on my bs detector.... Michelle

It's cool when they act like 'real' dogs isn't it? Ruby growled when my friend Brian entered my office one day. I didn't hear him and she was growling all of a sudden, I was SOOO proud!!!! Michelle
-
  Come towards the light... I don't have a bully either, but I'm part of several boards! :D Although I'm hoping on getting an Amstaff next spring, if I can afford it
Afford it??? Rescue dogs are cheap, and many are purebred! Get two! Michelle

My dog eats my clothes when she wants attention - and you know what she gets for it? A swat on the ass. So here you go troll - *swat*
I love Shepherds.....
You mean shepards
When I say "pit bull," I mean pit bull type dogs. I dont' just mean American pit bull terriers, but also american staffordshire terriers. <snip> For example, Delise found 73 cases where mixed breed dogs have killed people. If you add in all the wolf/dog mix (another very problematic canid--and one that is banned many places) fatalities (23) as "mixed breeds," the total mixed breed number is 96. This is very comparable to the number of pit bull caused fatalities (90) alone. Since we know that about half the dogs in the country are mixed breeds, it is absolutely clear that, despite all the repetition by the pit bull community that pit bulls are not human aggressive, a lot of pit bulls are VERY human aggressive and pit bulls account for way more than their share of serious attacks.
Wow, contradict yourself much? You are including pit bull 'type' dogs in your 'breed legislation' even though there are about TEN different dogs that fall in that catagory. Including pit bull mixes. Somehow you differentiate that from the 'mix breeds'. So, you have 10 different specific breeds AND mixes of those breeds and you are comparing those bite statictics with the bite stats from 'other' mix breeds. Yeah, sure that makes sense.... Michelle
Interestingly, while most of the posters here seem to take an "every dog is beautiful on the inside" line and profess not to care even the teensiest bit about how attractive the outside of a dog is, they also seem to get highly, highly offended at even the suggestion that anybody else might think that their personal dogs are less than canine Mr. and Ms. Americas. I guess this is a canine version of Lake Woebegon, and all the dogs are above average, huh? primrose
Ruby is stunning, until you look at her ears... they give her 'character' :D Of course not everyone has the good taste to see her beauty that I do. A discussion about what breed of dog is cute or ugly is like a discussion about whose kids are cute or ugly. Some are more attractive than others, but even the ugliest dog is loved by its owner - and that love makes the dog at least 'cute'... Oh well, this is a stupid topic and was definately started by a troll... I'll go away now. Michelle
-
Oh yeah, make sure you stop over at PitBullForum.com and post a picture of your dog, myself and one other member have done a ton of 'photocrop' jobs. Check out the photocrop picture guidelines for the best results! Then you can bring in an actual picture of your dog for the vet to follow. Oh, and laser crops are supposed to be the least painful and don't need stitches. Michelle
-
Like prevention of future damage or infection or something?
Just as many cropped dogs get ear infections. It's a myth that cropping helps prevent it. Michelle
2 weeks ago, I was woke up to the sound of a legion of dogs barking...it sounded like the pound there were so many..I thought I was dreaming. I got up and went out ont he front porch, and there were like 20-25 dogs surrounding the dog pens, Rusty and Smiley were going banana's..Morgan was just casually lounging in front of her dog house watching the show . My dad was like "I" wouldn't go out there! I was like, "like I can't step back inside the house before they make it up here lol, come on" and stepped outside...I've never seen that many dogs in one spot off leash before. It was insane...there were boxers, and labs, and a collie, and a rottie, and a dane, and numerous mixes. People are so stupid I swear, not only is that dangerous for the dog...but formed up in a pack like that a child wouldn't stand a snowballs chance should they show up and the kid run.
What was the reason for this? Was Morgan in heat?
