well I wouldnt be worrying if I was in america...but ...this is taiwan.They even told me to spay Duck after she has her first heat...no way am i going to listen to that!

Would a sedative last for more than 15 hrs?

Ok..I wanted to get Duck microchipped..but since I'll be going back to the states, I have to think about this.If she gets microchipped here, they would have her registered.then when she goes back to the states, will she have to be re-registered?or re-microchipped?Or neither? BTW, Duck is getting spayed tomorrow.I am so scared something bad will happen...my tutor said her peke died because something happened suring the surgery...that was not supposed to.. I know my vet is a lot better than her old one, but still....and one of the people from the dog park said his dog slept for 3 days after he was neutered... :o

I will probably be going back to the US in a week or two.I was supposed to go back in June but decided I wanted to go now. Duck is coming with me...as soon as we find out all the stuff about flying with dogs. How long do they(meaning the U.S.) quarantine dogs?And is it cruel9as some people say) to make a dog fly from Taiwan to America?It would be 12 hours to CA, but we live in TX, so add 3 more hours, and that's 15 hours altogether.Should I take her with me now, or wait until she's older(1 year old)?if I wait until she's older, that will be in June.I think it would be better to go now, since we could take her to puppy class(they dont have those here), go swimming, and my mom would be home when I'm at school...she would get lots more exercise, hardly stay in the crate, and my mom would be there with her.But she'd have to endure 15 hours on an airplane though.. It would take 12 hrs to CA.That would be in the EVA airlines.And then we'd switch to AA(to go to TX)...so how would Duck be switched to the other plane?Does American Airlines allow dogs?And I'd appreciate any other info about traveling with dogs...and all the other stuff..

Throw what ever you want her to retrieve, then when she comes back, stick your hand out.If she drops it at your feet, ignore her.Oh, you might want to sit down for this.Just sit there and don't move your hand....and ignore her..until she puts it in your hand...then...you know the rest..praise!!I've heard that works...sometimes.. :-?

Ok....it's CHinese New Year!!(well, almost)AND FIREWORKS!!!the first ones started just a minutes ago...Duck is scared out of her wits!I know I'm not supposed to say that's okay, that's okay, cuz then that would be rewarding her fear, but how do I make her not so scared? :-?

Well I asked the vet if he could get Frontline or something for me...he said no.. :-? So now I'm waiting for my dad to bring Frontline here.. :roll: I don't think she has fleas though....the vet said we should get preventative stuff just in case..

Yea...Duck grew so fast when she was about 3-4 months...a little pup to an almost-adult size.. :o :D
