03 January last year we had to pts our 4 year old shar-pei she was in the final stages of kidney failure. We had an 11 year old shar-pei she went so depressed she started having bad days (she had a stroke 18 months earlier) we did not think she would last much longer. we could not imagine life without a sharpei. we started looking for a puppy right away. we ended up buying 2 puppies the week after easter 6 april. Poppy the older dog picked right away got a new lease of life "helping to look after the puppies" now Poppy's 12 years 5 months and doing well. We made the right choice for us and Poppy

you did not say how old the children are. are they old enough to help take care of the dogs. I have three dogs but the chilren have all grown and left now. It is a personal thing to decide what is right for you and your family :D :D :D :D why not become a member of the forum

I would leave the dog in his own home if mum could take him to her house for a few hours that would help :D

I voted no but I took Poppy in for three months seven years ago. and I still have her today I sponser a dog at our local shelter :)

So what did you do Rowie? we went for their favorite walk along the canal. It has ducks and boats on it. Found dog friendly pup :drink1: :drink1: had one each (but not the dogs} they are asleep now. Didn't get them a new toy just a box of doggie treats they will get a new toy when the christmas ones are worn out :bday: :bday: :bday:

we have it bad for guy fawkes night the fireworks start a month to six weeks before and carry on untill new year. I reasured Paddy and Gladis told them it was ok. they soon got that they did not worry about the bangs

that's how it is in the UK dogs are sprayed inbetween the first and second season. Diffierent countries have different ways microchip I think she has to be chipped to fly when you get to Amercia just register the number :D
