well I was going to start using it in a little while.....is there any way to tell other then just trying it to see if my pup is going to be ok????

I agree that we shouldn't have back yard breeders...that is why my puppy is getting fixed in a month!! I wish I could save dogs from shelters and bring them home but at this moment I dont have the money or the house.....I am renting and I live with my dad and he is good with one....but when I do get my own home I plan on it! I also believe abused dogs can make the best pets! Good luck with your new one!! :) Good job!

I was reading The United Kennel Club Breed Standard for the APBT and it said " The APBT is not the best choice for a guard dog since they are extremly friendly, even with strangers" 8) I'm happy to hear that!!! Now I can tell you all that every dog is diffrent let alone there breed. I agree but I dont. Pitbulls are very loving but if they want to attack becuase they feel threatened I believe they would be good gaurd dogs but they are still better pets personally..... I just want to know everyones opinion!!! :)

With the dropped ears thing....I read somewhere that the cropped ear is better for reasons of they are less likely to get ear infections, they hear better and some other reason....I dont really know if that is true but I was just wondering..... When I got my baby I was told I shouldn't do anything with the tail becuase of balance....I dont think its mainly for balance but I think there is a factor of balance when it comes to their tail..... :roll: I dont know for sure so ohh well!!! LOL

Well yes I know certain breeds do and dont crop ears and dock tails.... I was just wondering and Tankyou!! for answering!! I also had another question -- Do pitbulls use their tails for balance?? I heard this from somewhere and I dont know if it is true?!?!??! And yes I know there is a pic of a pit with cropped ears....I never said I dis agree.... I actually agree because it is better for hearing and health reasons but I love my puppy ears so they are gonna stay..... but I am having the hardest time with getting my puppy pic on here....I cant figure it out!!!! I'm sorry to hear about your lose of your min - pin. I wish I could help some how.....I think the Micro chip is great...my puppy is everywhere...and she is an escape artist some times....When I get here fixed in a month the vet is going to put a chip in.... :D I will be much more secure when she gets that in her....I agree with micro chipping and I think it should be the law...just like rabies shots are...I think it would help alot with lost dogs here...

ok, 5 month old pitbull and she is allmost done loosing her puppy teeth and her breath is getting worse by the day?? Is there any home remedy that I can give her...... :lol:

I would like to hear a logical reason to cropping ears and cutting off their tails.......I understand certain breeds have ears cropped and tails cut but yet if we had a tail would you want it cut off? If we had ears like a canines would you want to crop it?? I tottally agree with it with many breeds, but I still ask why!! :lol: I have to ask!

GREAT POEM!!! I think 90% of PitBull owners think that way and I am one. I know one day something might happen but I pray every day something like that wont happen. If she shows any thing like that then she will stay home.

true but that is why you always have back ups as many as you can have! I was promised a female and I got it and love her but if I wouldn't of taken it or taken it back the breeder ALWAYS had someone asking for a female red nose. Everyones life can change from the time they say they want a puppy and then the bitch mates and then has the puppys...I know mine did but I wasn't going to back down and not take her.... Breeders REAL breeders should always have backups...no exceptions...... Sorry forgot to login............it was me

A couple months before I got my APBT - I started reading books and most of them make it seem that pitbulls, straffordshires and all those are the same and they just have diffrent names! I was so confused for the longest time! Then I saw an American straffordshire and I saw the diffrence and I talked to the owner and ever since then I know the diffrence. :D

Jigger you put a smile on my face!! It's not very often when I hear someone wanting pits to help them and make them happy again!! If I find anyone wanting to get rid of a pit I will let you know!! My pit is staying home with me though!! :D

My puppy pit loves to play tag!! If I tell her to go outside she will play! Then I have to get the laser out and make her play with it. I mean upstairs, downstairs, through the first living room , throught the second living room outside back inside over and over again! She loves the dog park, She is a little pussy when her little friends aren't there because their are some really big dogs there but then they start barking and then she starts barking and then they play until we have to leave becuase the park is closing! :D

I have a 5 month old Red Nose American PitBull Named Gizmo. She is very exciting to have, she will wake us up and be like LETS PLAY! She is fawn and White. :D

I feed my puppy pitbull Nutro Lamb Meal and Rice Formula. I use to feed her Iams puppy food but then I switched because she seemed she didn't like it any more and now she devors Nutro. She keeps more of the food and vitamins in her instead of pooping it all out and not getting anything out of the food just like the represenative promised me! I have roast beef slices in gravy and its called Reward I think, I add one can everyday with her two feedings. She loves it and she is growing nice and slowly just like she should!! :lol:

Many people describe there dogs as couch potatos or hyper. My puppy is hyper beyond belife! We can pick up the laser light and she comes running from outside or wherever she is! She will chase this little red light like there is nothing else to do!My pitbull is the best thing that happened to me! She loves people, when we have a party I swear she thinks the house is her house and everyone is coming over to see her!! She loves to run from inside to outside, with her big floppy pitbull ears! She has ears so big for her face it looks like pluto ears!!
