Sanvean Posted August 29, 2003 Posted August 29, 2003 I was looking for Maltese stuff online and came across this: Doesn't it just scream, "Hey, burglars! Come on in! Our only protection is a 6-pound dog!" Quote
Peng1zrule Posted August 29, 2003 Posted August 29, 2003 hey...Gypsy is ferocious when cornered, thank you. I daresay she can beat off ANY ankle that crosses her territory in a threatening way....an entire leg, though, may be out of her aim... Quote

Rosebud Posted August 29, 2003 Posted August 29, 2003 :D Now that one is toooo funny. I have the one for RR's. I got a delivery from UPS a couple of weeks ago and met the driver outside on my porch with door closed. He very politely asked me if I would wait until he was IN the truck before going indoors. I told him my dogs are not going to bolt past me. HIS reply. "Would you please WAIT till I'm in the truck" I laughed and obliged the man. Quote
Queen Bitch Posted August 29, 2003 Posted August 29, 2003 Ack!!!!!!!! *Runs screaming out of the forums in terror* Quote
courtnek Posted August 29, 2003 Posted August 29, 2003 where is this site? I would LOVE to go look at it.... Actually, I saw an interview once with a Chief of Police who said that the best protection against burglers is a dog. Doesnt matter what size or how ferocious. What they are mostly concerned with is the amount of noise the dog is going to make - to alert neighbors or wake up people sleeping. And little dogs tend to make alot more noise than some big dogs anyway. So the sign is justified!!  Quote
ellieangel Posted August 30, 2003 Posted August 30, 2003 I do know someone who has the same sign with a rottie on it ..........he has 10 !! Quote
behle Posted August 30, 2003 Posted August 30, 2003 Ellieangel - :iloveyou: TEN rotties! :iloveyou: That must be lovely! I would rather go into a yard with a big dog than into a yard with a little dog. Perhaps it's just because I have more experience with larger dogs. Little dogs who snarl really make me nervous...... Maybe the sign would look more menacing if the pretty little maltese had a snarl going on the sign?!! Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted August 30, 2003 Posted August 30, 2003 ACK! It's a mop with teeth!! Save me!! HF Quote
Sanvean Posted August 30, 2003 Author Posted August 30, 2003 Courtnek, the site is www.dogstickers.com I guess the thing that cracks me up is that that dog is the FLOOFIEST looking Maltese I've ever seen! The limpid eyes, the show coat...even Macy looks more menacing! (Though not by much.) Quote
Daisysmom Posted August 30, 2003 Posted August 30, 2003 LOL, maybe it would scare someone without boots on.... nippin at those ankles  Quote
Bentleythewonderdog Posted August 30, 2003 Posted August 30, 2003 I have something similar posted on the inside of my backyard fence, it says "Caution, Area patrolled by Maltese" Bought it as a joke. But he is a great little buglar alarm? Anyone dare come and knock on his door and he sounds the alarm! Quote
courtnek Posted August 31, 2003 Posted August 31, 2003 When I had my malamute, I was told by the police that I had to have a sign both on my door and my fence that warned people that there was a "dangerous" dog on premises. So I made one. A picture of Jarvis, a head shot, in full teeth display mode, (which he did whenever he didnt know who was at the door) It was actually quite nasty looking. He really did look like a dangerous dog when his lips curled back and all his teeth were exposed...(he was 110 lbs after all, with a BIG head) and on the bottom of it, i had posted 'MAKE MY DAY!!" For those unfamilar, it was a line from a Clint Eastwood movie, Dirty Harry, where he has a 45 caliber handgun almost as long as a rifle, and is pointing it at a criminal who just attempted to kill a bunch of people, ( a 45 magnum) and is pretty much asking the guy "do something to make me shoot you....." he was a cop in the movie who didnt believe in "politically correct" and thought criminals should be treated like, well, criminals.... Anyway. I put the signs up, and the cops came back and said "that's not EXACTLY" what we meant, a 'BEWARE OF DOG" sign would have done....    Quote
courtnek Posted August 31, 2003 Posted August 31, 2003 they actually have one that says "BREAK IN! MAKE MY DAY.. I'm cracking up....    Quote
